Why Is The USPS In The Crosshairs?

WE have all heard the rhetoric about the GOP’s ‘war on women’…..and in the past the GOP has said that Obama has a ‘war on coal’, among other things,,,,,but the one ‘war;’ that I do not understand is the ‘war on the Post Office’…..

It seems some in Congress wants to stop Saturday service and close something like 3000 P.O.s….and the figure I have seen is about 100,000 people would lose their jobs….that would be good to raise the unemployment rate at election time….but why is this so important?

I mean the USPS gets NO budgetary monies…..all revenue comes from postage and such.  Yes the USPS is in deficit but a lot of that can be attributed to the Congress when they made them fund 25 years of pensions and health care (not positive of the figure….probably more than I said) and do so in 10 years or so putting a financial strain on the USPS.

So my question is…..why all the laser pointing on the USPS?  What end is there to this?  Are they trying to close it down so private companies like UPS and FedEx can have their way with the American public  Just what is it about the USPS that pisses some off?

On a side note….our dynamite Congress has worked 41 days in the first 127 of the year….now there is where the laser focusing should be……why do they get full time pay and benefits when they work part time….could not get that deal at Wal-Mart.

Sorry, I digress.  With all the unemployment and bad economic times for the people of this country….would you like to see what the fat cats did in the Congress last week?

If you are trying to destroy the USPS why would you spend so much time re-naming offices all over the country?  I would like to have access to the names of donors and then cross reference it with the name changes.  Just a thought!
