Yawn! This whole process is beyond silly!
The combatants arrive in Sin City (Las Vegas not the game) to go toe to toe with each other on the pressing issues of today…HAHAHAHAHA….okay they will talk tax cuts and Obama sucks….anyway I digress so let us get to the goodies……
Romney–Looked and spoke presidential……but knowing his past campaigns and stances…he is a f*cking con artist…will and did say anything to keep his position in the line-up…….a cold fish
Cain–Spent most of the time defending 999 no matter what the question was about….his defense? “Our analysis”….as usual he was the target of all the ill feelings of the candidates….but at least he did not sing….
Perry–Drill Baby Drill the answer to every problem…..looked like a loud mouth bully on stage….
Bachmann–she is out of it……everything she says is easily ignored….
Paul–was the typical Libertarian…..free markets will solve all problems….
Santorum–Attack…attack…..other than that….he got nothing!
Gingrich–who cares?
We Americans always have to have a winner….a the winner in this debate was……(drum roll please)….John Huntsman….why….he had the keen foresight to walk away from this particular brand of silly…….
However, if you would like another perspective then I suggest that you go to a friend of Info ink website (blogroll will get you to Spinny Liberal)…..she has an unique and excellent take on the debates ………
The sad part is there are so many other things that need to be written about and I feel compelled to watch this silliness and report on what I saw……I am so embarrassed that the political system has come down to this brand of comedy and theatrics….at one point I thought the system was working….but those days are long gone…..now it is just one circus act after another……and not a solid solution between any of the candidates….most are not serious candidates….most are just trying for the exposure to up the ante on speaking and a possible show on that other network……
I predict Mitt Romney to win the nomination. He is consistently presidential in sound and appearance, something the others are not. The rest are either too stupid, too crazy, or in Huntsman’s case, too moderate. (Romney is moderate as a politician, but as a candidate he’ll do and say anything to win, which you acknowledge.)
Santorum hasn’t a snowball’s chance in hell. He never sounds or appears presidential, and his cultural conservatism is too extreme for most Republican voters.
Newt’s best chance was back in 2008, but even then he would have had to overcome the moral bankruptcy. He’s a bastard who couldn’t buy my vote for Gates’ money. I’d rather sit in the poor-house than cast a vote for that prick.
Bachmann is simply absurd. I’m trying to decide the single most ridiculous statement she ever uttered, but it’s a plentiful pot to choose from.
Paul’s views are extreme to most people. He presents many lofty notions that work well in theory, but application and subsequent result is never explained. It’s a “just trust me” campaign pitch and it doesn’t float. His disregard for Israel isn’t very popular among the Right either.
Cain, I maintain, is a flare. Once people bother themselves enough to actually read the 9-9-9 plan, he’ll fade away, along with the Haagen-Dazs ice cream no longer in production (idiot).
Huntsman, as I said, is too moderate.
Perry was all the rage for awhile, or, so goes the joke, until he opened his mouth. He’s not a very bright person. He has no chance.
Romney’s numbers are high and – quite unlike his predilictions – remain consistent, for the most part. So I think he’ll be Obama’s opponent. Whether he’ll win is going to depend largely on the economy. But make no mistake: the Right will do whatever they must to ensure a Republican victory, even if that means standing in the way of legislation aimed at alleviating the plight and economic suffering of the People (e.g., Jobs Bill).
Terrance….I concur with your excellent analysis…….when it comes to the nut cutting the GOP faithful will get behind Romney….I even heard a proposal of a Romney/Cain ticket for 2012…..I think that would be a mistake….a big mistake……
Why are they even bothering having debates, when all they do is say the same thing over and over again.
Hi Don and an excellent question…….they say the same things but the theatrics is a bit different……..most of them are just massage the public so they can demand more speaking cash…..
Thanks for the love, lobo. I totally get your “Newt who cares?” observation. Sometimes I think he decided to run just to take shots at Obama and the media.
Like most of them it is about money not necessarily the power……increases the speaking fees, just ask out gal Sarah…..
Glad to plug ya……we are in this together…..
