AHHHHHHHHH! The weekend and a short reprieve from the mundane crap that keeps me going…..politics and economics……sad that my life has come to that, huh? Sad but for me……. exhilarating!
I am constantly looking for good examples of IRONY………
We all have our little bitches about the laws we have to live with daily….some hate the ones about weed….others hate traffic ones and some dislike the ones we have about drinking or sex or ….well whatever you feel that is unfair…..and then there are those that take top the streets in protest of a perceived unjust law….and this is one of those people…..

A bare-headed motorcyclist riding in protest of New York state’s helmet law crashed, struck his head on the roadway and died from his injuries, state police said on Sunday.
Philip Contos, 55, was riding among a large group of motorcyclists staging an organized protest ride in western New York near Syracuse against the state law requiring all motorcyclists to wear helmets.
The Parish, New York, resident crashed on Saturday on Route 11 in Onondaga, New York, and was pronounced dead later at a local hospital, state Trooper Robert Jureller said.
“The doctor felt that the death could have been prevented if he simply had been wearing a helmet,” Jureller said. “He hit the brakes, lost control, was ejected and struck his head on the road. He suffered a skull fracture.” (I want to thank a loyal reader, Phillip of Darklynoon(blogroll will get you to his blog) for bringing this to my attention.)
This may not have been the most effective way to protest………..My grandfather always said, “if you’re gonna be stupid you betta be tough” ……..I give props for his gumption but I do not think that he made the point he was trying for…..do you?
What a true American…A patriot standing up for his rights; wanting the government to stay out of his life. Red White and Blue all the way…..to the morgue. What a stupid mother phucker.

In one way I agree, both with you and with Hansi, but in another, don’t you think his point was perfectly made???
So what if he died, it was HIS life to throw away, not the f*cking gobernments’s!!! Indeed, WTFs so bloody wonderful about the crap lives we live in our pseudo democracies that we should be forced to endure them if we don’t want to, or care much either way?
I’m sure that somewhere someone said it’s better to die free than live in slavery and if they didn’t, then they bloody well should have done!
At least he had the guts to stand up for what he believed in, whatever it cost him – which is more than can be said for most politicians!
Another piece of advice I was once given, ‘pick your fights carefully’……….Not a fight I would have picked….but I do see your point and will agree…..
