Animal Abuse

From time to time, when I get brain worms, I try to change the subject from the seriousness of the stupidity of politics and post something else….sometimes it is humor…or sex…or something…..well you get the idea…….

I am an animal lover, not the rabid crazy that is PETA, but rather the type that does not think that animals should be forced to amuse me….I mean…come on…what do you have to do to a bvear to get him to ride a bicycle?  Or to a tiger to make it jump through a ring of fire?……I do not believe that these creatures would do this on their own….

Anyway the state of California is doing some thing that I think is a great idea……

People who abuse animals could soon be treated the same way as sex offenders in California. State lawmakers are considering a bill to create an online registry for people convicted of animal cruelty, similar to the sex offender database.

The people pushing for this law say those who abuse animals are often abusive to human beings as well, which is why an online registry for animal abusers makes perfect sense.

The registry would include people like Michael Vick — animal abusers convicted of felonies. Such crimes include animal fighting, torture and mutilation, bestiality and repeated hoarding.

For the average dog owner, that would cost an extra $10 a year — an amount that will likely bring about some opposition, especially from Republicans who oppose new taxes, but Tischler is holding out hope.

If a national registry of sexual abuse is a good idea…..so is one the a/holes that abuse animals……..On a personal note…….when it comes to animal abuse it should pain for pain as the punishment…..if the animal is starved then so should the abuser or beat or mutilated……I think that could stop a lot of the abuse both animal and sexual and anything else that involves inflicting pain on another being for no other reason than amusement…….

We can move on to the Killer whale incident at SeaWorld…..a trainer was drowned by the Shamu (it was not Shamu, but another one)…….first of all ….what part of Killer Whale do they not understand?  You take an animal that is use to roaming the Pacific from top to bottom and put it in a tank about the size of a city block and then do not understand why it gets agitated….geez sounds like people are as stupid about animal behavior as they are about politics.  Here is a novel idea…..Let them all go home!…….enough said?

Thoughts Without Posts #1

In my daily grind of reading and writing I make about a bazillion notes that I think would make an informative post….unfortunately only a few are worthy of my time and effort…..so I try to let my readers know what goes on in my worm infested brain that continuously refuses to shut down…the list below are some of the thoughts without posts…..

1–When did the Swedish penis pump become the Post-T-Vac?  And why would Medicare pay for it?

2–When did poker become a sport?

3–Why would the Prez suggest more nuke power plants and then close down the ONLY repository for the spent fuel?

4–Every right wing nut has accused Obama and basically all Dems as being socialist….just a thought here….”The Pledge of Allegiance”. The Pledge was written by the Rev. Francis Bellamy, a Christian pastor and Socialist Party member. Bellamy did not mention the Creator, because as a minister, he believed that blasphemous. He wrote the rest of the Pledge as we say it today.  I wish people would stop and think about sh*t before they speak.

5–Rename a war….why?  Ever notice it always something that does not really describe war in all its horror?

6–What is the point of buying a gadget that breaks an egg for you?  Americans are truly lazy….look at a salad shooter….

7–Tiger Woods has a televised apology—–my reaction…..YAWN!

8–you realize that if cocaine gave you a throbbing erection you could buy it in a drug store……Pfizer would have some cute little title for it…..and Medicare would pay for it…..

9–Who decides when a dog food is gourmet?  Do they test them on poor people?

10-A new study shows that the use of medical marijuana can be good for you….what is the difference between regular weed and medical weed?  Does that mean that regular weed is not good for you?

11-At the recent CPAC Dick Cheney when introduced was met with the cheer “Run Dick Run”…..just the other day he was put in the hospital (again)….and if he ran and won the White House Oval Office would have to be moved to Bethesda Naval Hospital…he spends more time there than in bed with his wife….

12-Ron Paul wins the CPAC straw vote of president…….A POST TO FOLLOW….

13-Did I hear it right?…..pole dancing to be a exhibition sport in one of the next Olympics?  COOL!  Cannot wait to see the uniforms……

The Summit! Theater Of The Absurd! (Again)

There was a build up to yesterday’s health summit….the Prez and Dems and Repubs were to meet and discuss the possibility of finding ways to have a bi-partisan bill on health reform….did the adults take over the health reform conversation?

HA!  Not a chance!  This was a prime opportunity for the Repubs and Dems to find common ground and they bombed badly….I am sorry to pick on the Repubs so much but in this case they deserve all the credit for looking like 4 year old on a play ground….

Americans were led to believe that the goal was finding common ground on getting health insurance to tens of millions of Americans who don’t have it and containing skyrocketing costs that threaten the nation’s fiscal well-being.

Obama dominated the conversation, barely contained his impatience with GOP statements and at times mocked them for trotting out visual effects (thick stacks of Democratic health care legislation) and talking points. Republicans complained about the time disparity and lectured the president about his policies.

Stagecraft trumped statesmanship.

Obama hoped to convince gridlock-weary voters who might be watching at home that he was sincere in seeking common ground with Republicans. He repeatedly asked GOP lawmakers to focus on fixes that both parties might agree upon.

The Repubs were well rehearsed they got their talking points in “start over”, was the most used….nowhere did these guys and gals ever act like a group of people concerned with the plight of the American people……sad that once again, politics triumph over the people….and you wonder why the US is the laughing stock of the world…the health summit was a prime example of the stupidity in Washington….

OKay…here is an idea….F*CK THE REPUBS!…….do whatever it takes to get American people health care…I am sorry to my conserv friends, but the people have been waiting for 70+ years for these dinks to do something constructive and so far all we have got is a playground brawl….it is time for us voters to flip off these people and replace them with apes….at least they could do NO worse…..

Sorry, had to get a little poem in there….

We are in Black History Month and I would like to help everyone understand the work that went into dismantling the institution of slavery….and that not all that is being taught is the whole history of the lives and contributions of African-Americans……

During the first draft of the Declaration of Independence there was a clause, known as the anti-slavery clause, and when the first draft was presented to the membership, it was opposed by the Southern colonies, go figure and has been said it was deleted from the final draft to get the Southern colonies to approve of the DoI.

This is the wording of the slavery clause in the first draft of the DoI:

He [King George III] has waged cruel War against human Nature itself, violating its most Sacred Right of Life & Liberty in the Persons of a distant People who never offended him, captivating & carrying them into Slavery in another Hemisphere, or to incur miserable death in their Transportation thither. This piratical Warfare, the opprobrium of infidel Powers, is the Warfare of the Christian King of Great Britain. He has prostituted his Negative for Suppressing every legislative Attempt to prohibit or to restrain this execrable Commerce, determining to keep open a market where MEN should be bought & sold, and that this Assemblage of Horrors might want no Fact of distinguished Die, he is now exciting those very People to rise in Arms among us, and to purchase that Liberty of which he has deprived them, by murdering the people upon whom he also obtruded them; thus paying off former Crimes committed against the Liberties of one People, with Crimes which he urges them to commit against the lives of another.

Now the common belief and the history that is taught would have us believe that Jefferson wrote the first and final draft…..I am sorry but it would seem that if this idea was truly one of Jefferson’s he would have fought harder to keep it in the document….he did not!

It has been said and taught that Jefferson cursed the institution of slavery and that he did not like the fact that it existed…….historians would have us believe that he hated it so much that he freed his slaves later in life……..a slight exaggeration……he did free slaves…he had 22 and on his death bed freed 3….one of whom was a slave named Hemmings…..(wink wink)…that means that 19 we still slaves when Jefferson died…does not sound like someone who hated the institution…..Many of the founding fathers are said to have hated slavery, while still keeping slaves to do their bidding.

But I have a hard time believing that these guys were all that anti-slavery when comments like these were said:

“I have supposed the black man in his present state might not be [equal to the white man]; but it would be hazardous to affirm that equally cultivated for a few generations, he would not become so.” –Thomas Jefferson to Chastellux, 1785.

“Nothing is more certainly written in the book of fate than that these people [blacks] are to be free. Nor is it less certain that the two races, equally free, cannot live in the same government. Nature, habit, opinion has drawn indelible lines of distinction between them.” –Thomas Jefferson:

“The improvement of the blacks in body and mind, in the first instance of their mixture with the whites, has been observed by every one, and proves that their inferiority is not the effect merely of their condition of life.” Thomas Jefferson: Notes on Virginia

Sorry people but it does not sound like Jefferson believes that ALL MEN are created equal….to me……

If Jefferson did not write the slavery clause then who?

The first person that comes to mind is the forgotten father of independence…Thomas Paine…….I know no one is being taught this information….so ask why…..

Paine arrived in the colonies on November of 1774 and by early 1775 had written and published, African Slavery In America” which was a harsh condemnation of the institution.  And shortly after that the first anti-slavery association was established in Philadelphia.  If anyone can say that they either wrote or influenced the slavery clause of the DoI it would be Paine.

Thomas Paine can accurately be called the Father of the Abolitionist Movement in America….of all the founding fathers he alone can say that he was opposed to slavery from his first sight of it in America and that he was the FIRST to openly condemn enslavement of a people.

Paine deserves better than the treatment history has given him…he deserves the acknowledgment that he was truly an American patriot and a Founding Father…..to deny him in dissertation of American history is to deny the principles and and beliefs that make this a great country.  Academia has done all in its power to eliminate or marginalize Paine and his contributions to the cause of independence….and so far they have been successful and Americans are the worse for not knowing his story.

Absolutely…NOTHING!

In the days of yore….a group of like minded aristocrats got together and with the help of a writer came up with a document for independence and the immortal words, “All men are created equal”…….now that brings us to the question what is equality?  And what the Hell were they talking about?

I must preface my post with the fact that the concept of equality is subjective…..it means what you want it to mean….and that is not necessarily the most accurate of definitions…..

“All men are created equal”…..a great statement but here is absolute NO one that believes that for a second…..we all have our little things that we are somehow a bit better than someone else….if you do not agree then you are ignoring a basic human belief….we are not all born equal!  Some are more intelligent or more gifted in certain duties than others….this is not to say that it is racist or bigotry just a basic evolutionary fact…..

If the Framers really believed the quote then why did they allow the institution of slavery to continue?….I do not think the Founders real believed that we were all born equal….however they did believe that we all have an equal opportunity to succeed…not would be a stark difference than their little line in a document…..but after all they were trying to get people on board with the whole independence thing….

If you truly think that the Founders believed their own words, would Jefferson have said this:

“Nothing is more certainly written in the book of fate than that these people [blacks] are to be free. Nor is it less certain that the two races, equally free, cannot live in the same government. Nature, habit, opinion has drawn indelible lines of distinction between them.” –Thomas Jefferson: Autobiography, 1821. ME 1:72

The “Opportunity for Equality” or to put it another way, the “Equality of Opportunity”…..that we all have the opportunity to be equal as far as economic issues go….with hard work and the rest of that imaginary crap goes…..

Equality?  Like I have stated…there will be a wealth of opinions on just what the word means…..and in the beginning….the masters of the revolution  never really intended for it to actually mean that we are all total equal……more that we all have an equal chance at success…..to put it simply….

Ain’t equality great?  Thoughts?

Money Well Spent!

Today is the BIG health summit….you know that piece of political theater that will set the stage for health reform….just wanted to add a thought or two into the mix…..

There have been a massive amounts of accusations that health reform is being beaten by the lobbies that are spending lots of cash on our diligent Congresspeople…..and if you think that is a bit harsh then you need to drop the playstation and pay a little more attention to what will be effecting you in the future…..I know….not an easy thing to do when you are so close to the high score….but give it try….

For months we have been bombarded with the facts that the health insurance industry has a anti-trust exemption and can basically gouge the crap out of its consumers with NO fear of reprisal by the government….in other words they have a Free Ride to make all the money they can off the plight of those insured……

The good news was that the Dems were fed up with the insurance companies and would do all they could to change the anti-trust exemption……they were going to make them more responsive and accountable…..well, that was the plan…..but as usual Washington is just full of surprises……the Politico’s Patrick O’Connor is reporting:

In an upcoming House vote to repeal the long-standing antitrust protections for the insurance industry. To most members of Congress, it seems like a no-brainer: Why should insurers be exempted from antitrust laws, anyway.

But Democrats look like they’ll scale back the legislation to protect insurance companies that offer malpractice coverage to doctors and other health care providers, bowing to industry pressure in the latest concession of the health care fight.

Democratic aides in the House said the final bill likely won’t include controversial new restrictions on medical malpractice insurers. Its authors also appear inclined to strip new authority for the Federal Trade Commission because it sparked similar unease.The concessions illustrate just how hard it’s been for the president and his congressional allies to overhaul a single sector of such an enormous segment of the economy.

Just goes to show that the lobbyist money is well spent……the free ride continues and the plight of the insured remains bleak…..As I keep saying…NOTHING about the health reform proposal is reform….it is a tweaking….minor adjustments that have the appearance of success…..and the American people wait…….

I Will See Your Socialist and Raise You A Fascist

Note:  For months now I have been trying to dissuade people on the Right from using the socialist analogy when referring to Obama…..if there was only a way to show how absurd it is….I have tried calling them idiots, morons, uninformed louts….but nothing sometimes to work……then I remembered a conversation I was having several years ago on a now defunct political forum…it took awhile to find my post but I did and now I would like to share it with my readers…….

One could make the comparison to any administration that it is either socialistic or fascist…..the accusation does NOT make it so….and show a serious lack of political knowledge…..

Take the Bush adminstration a case could be made that it has Fascist leanings….why?  My comments are in Italics—

1. Invoke a terrifying internal and external enemy–after 9/11 there were enemies everywhere….some real…some imaginary…..

2. Create a gulag–Gitmo would fit the description of a gulag……

3. Develop a thug caste–a case could be made that parts of the DHS fit the description

4. Set up an internal surveillance system–the Patriot Act comes to mind

5. Harass citizens’ groups–The DoJ was used to harass and investigate groups that were considered “un-American”

6. Engage in arbitrary detention and release–The TSA is doing this regularly

7. Target key individuals–academics, scientists and others have been targeted for a program to discredit everything they say…..climate change comes to mind

8. Control the press–elevating a partisan news organization to the level of a unbiased media is one way…..target journalist that do not agree with them….

9. Dissent equals treason–this was a biggie and still is–even to the point of one representative calling liberals un-American, just to mention one…..

10. Suspend the rule of law–The John Warner Defense Authorization Act of 2007 gave the president new powers over the national guard. This means that in a national emergency – which the president now has enhanced powers to declare – he can send Michigan’s militia to enforce a state of emergency that he has declared in Oregon, over the objections of the state’s governor and its citizens.

Critics see this as a clear violation of the Posse Comitatus Act – which was meant to restrain the federal government from using the military for domestic law enforcement.–I need to say no more on that subject…….

Now before the hate mail starts, before the throwing of insults begins and before the silliness begins….I AM NOT SAYING BUSH WAS A FASCIST….I wrote this to show just how silly the comparison is, just as silly as the people making the Obama is a socialist comparison……

From now on I will use my title when I hear one of those damn silly comparisons…”I WILL SEE YOUR SOCIALIST AND RAISE YOU A FASCIST”…….

Yet Another Presidential Commission

From time to time there is something that comes out of Washington and/or politicians that just agitates the crap out of me…but none of the shenanigans piss me off more than a presidential commission to study a problem to find solutions…why does it make me so bitchy?

Let us take a look at the latest commission that the Prez announced the other day:

The national debt — accumulated deficits — is expected to hit $9.3 trillion this year, or 63.6 percent of the gross domestic product, the measure of all the nation’s goods and services produced annually. By 2015, the debt will total almost $14 trillion and equal 72.9 percent of the GDP, the highest level since 1950, when World War II debt was still being repaid.

This exploding debt menaces growth and U.S. living standards.

The White House has announced that it will appoint Erskine Bowles, chief of staff under President Bill Clinton, and former Wyoming Sen. Alan Simpson, a Republican, as commission co-chairs. Both were key players in successful 1990s efforts to negotiate bipartisan deficit-reduction packages, and the Clinton years ended with four straight years of budget surpluses.

That bipartisan panel would have delivered lawmakers a deficit reduction blueprint after the November elections that would have been subject to votes before a new Congress convenes next year. But the idea faltered in the Senate, defeated by equal numbers of Democrats and Republicans, including some of whom initially supported the idea.

Though Obama’s commission will lack any requirement for Congress to act on its advice, it could provide the president some political cover with an electorate that is increasingly concerned about the massive deficit. And that has some Republicans looking to paint the executive commission as little more than a political calculation.

Yes this is a political theater….it is just another political game being played…..my problem is that a commission would be doing what we pay the a/holes in Congress to do….I realize that it may be difficult to get things done when you work 3 days a week and about 150 days a year……

A political commission is a waste of money and a perverted why of gaining some political advantage for use in campaigns and elections…..

When will the American people start demanding that these overpaid lazy pricks start earning their money?  If they want to work part time then I say pay them like part timers and cut their benefits…..it is done in the private sector…..And they always use the private sector in their rants….treat them like the do nothing employees they are…..Or better yet put they on piece work….they get paid only when legislation is passed….that could make them wake up to the fact that they need to start representing the people not their overinflated egos……

Sad that this subject has to be covered yet again……

A lot of stuff pisses me off, but the most angered I get is when someone makes the comment that Obama is somehow a secret socialist……from the Tea baggers to Fox News to CPAC…the prez has been likened to a socialist in Dem clothing…he has been likened to Stalin, Lenin and other Red notables….but does any one of these people realize what a socialist is?

Okay he is a socialist…which type?  Marxist, Communist, Democratic Socialist or Social Democrat–just which one is he?  They do NOT know because they have no idea what they are talking about…it is just a slogan…just hate and name calling……there is NO truth to it…it denies reality…..according to wiki:

Socialism refers to the various theories of economic organization advocating either public or direct worker ownership and administration of the means of production and allocation of resources. Read it again….and again……and yet again….get it through your thick head that Obama is NO socialist…..

A summarization of socialism……government takes from capital and gives to the people……let’s try that again…..government takes from capital and gives to the people…is that simple enough?  Can you grasp the idea?

Obama and his cronies through the stim plan has taken from the people and given to capital…once more….Obama has taken from the people and given to capital……

If Pres. Obama is a socialist then he is a ….DYSLEXIC SOCIALIST!  (you do know what dyslexic means, right?)

Please stop using that analogy….you look like a complete political moron every time you use it……if you can not be accurate then please keep your pie hole shut…if you are idiot enough to listen and believe this garbage then I have some land in Florida I will sell to you by the gallon or better a bridge in Brooklyn that would round out your portfolio…..For me, anyone that use this analogy has the IQ of their hat size…..a failure of the education system or just a symptom of utter STUPIDITY!

Why is the Obama Agenda Socialistic?

I have been trying to figure out just what part of the Obama agenda is the socialist part….I have written many times trying to explain to my readers why Obama is NOT a socialist and why the US is NOT moving to socialism…..I have been asking for someone, anyone to explain the accusation to me for the point is missed the target with me….well my wait has been long but now it is over…I received an email from a guy (I think it is a guy) that gave me my much sought after reason/s…..

This below are the points that according to American conservatives are the reasons that Obama and his policies are socialistic:

  • The United States is institutionally a nation of oppression.
  • Leftist Liberal politicians are needed to “correct” the United States. The United States must also be controlled by the United Nations.
  • All post-9/11/2001 national security measures taken by the U.S. government while Bush was President were disguised attacks on our liberties.
  • Virtually all American foreign military actions are immoral and thinly disguised attempts at imperialistic world domination.
  • We must have mass immigration made easy and totally open borders. Illegal aliens must also be given social welfare benefits.
  • We need a vast expansion of social welfare programs–which will be paid for by ever-increasing taxes, especially on “the rich” who all earn “too much” and pay “too little” but which won’t be limited to just them.
  • Terrorists who hate the United States and those who aid and abet them must be given equal legal rights as if they are U.S. citizens.
  • The U.S. needs to drastically reduce its military spending and probably shrink its military.
  • The death penalty is absolutely never justified and must be abolished
  • The U.S. needs government-controlled socialized medicine under which all adults will be forced to buy health insurance.
  • We need radical environmentalism, the agenda of which is “not clean air and clean water, [but] rather…the demolition of technological/industrial civilization,” as Michael Berliner explains.
  • We must always give preferences in education and business to all people who are not white males regardless of any proven performance or probable ability.
  • Homosexual cohabitation and “marriage” are exactly the same thing.
  • Taxpayers must be forced to pay for abortions, even if they are personally opposed to abortions or don’t believe in the type of abortion they are paying for such as partial-birth.
  • We must have strict citizen gun-control laws. The 2nd Amendment referred only to militias (National Guardsmen), not private citizens.

There they are and I would like to discuss these with anyone that agrees with the list….personally, I do not see any thing that is at all accurate….and before I am called an Obama apologist I would like to point to the fact that I have criticized Obama heavily on many issues….if in doubt just go to my search and find out for yourself….

I would like to put this whole tap dance about socialism to bed…..we do not need a new RED SCARE….we have been there and done that….it is time for us to move on and find REAL solutions for REAL problems……
