Redistribution?

If you guys remember the past, and it seems so damn long ago, a lot of crap was slung at Obama and his promises, that they were socialism and redistribution of wealth and other such moronic accusations.  I am sure that you like me are still receiving the damn emails.

But wait!  Take a few moments to think back to the past 8 years, yes I am talking about the Bush years.

(Pause for reflection)

Do you recall the Bush tax cuts from his early days in office?  If you are of the middle class and work for a living, did you reap any benefits from those tax cuts?  Most likely not, but I could be mistaken.  The tax cuts that I am speaking of, that were passed and signed by Mr. Bush basically took money from the working class and the middle class and gave it to the wealthy.  Now, no matter how you want to cut that bit of info, it was a redistribution of wealth.

Was that not what Obama was being accused of by Repub pundits?

Sorry I was momentarily taken off topic–my apologies.

Redistribution?  I deep subject with meanings that only the ruffled economist can understand, but if the redistribution, an equal redistribution, is what you seek then there is no better vehicle than the Land Value Tax (LVT).

  1. Yes, the accusations of “redistribution” and “socialism” are just plain WRONG. The GOP would much rather that we redistribute the wealth to the wealthy, and they cry “socialism” anytime someone wants to help out the little guy. So wrong.

  2. I was wonder why the D\ems cannot make a case of reverse “socialism”….hit back at the lair bastards….but I digress…morning…how’s everything?

  3. Hi there, Chuq! I hope you had a great weekend. I’m nursing yet another ugly cold (second one in a month!), and still trying to meet a couple deadlines, before I leave town in a couple weeks. Otherwise, things are chugging along… 🙂

I don’t get why the Dems almost never call the GOP on their shit! It would be such a easy case to make for “reverse socialism.” The Dems perpetually allow the GOP to get away with all kinds of shit. The Dems generally “mean well,” but they seriously need a backbone and some balls for a change.

    1. Hi girl, sorry to hear about the cold thingy…I have been fighting one also…it just sucks…hope you get to feeling better soon.

You hit the nail one the head…Dems need a backbone or they secretly agree with everything they let the Repubs get away with. Personally, I think it is the latter.

  4. Good morning! The cold’s actually, surprisingly, much better today–hope you’re feeling better soon yourself.

Yep, I’ve always said that the Dems and Republicans aren’t much different–it’s just that the GOP has absolutely no shame whatsoever in its corruption and hypocrisy. The Dems can be just as corrupt and hypocritical, but they’re just better at hiding it(!), as they try to be very moderate, mainstream, and ‘popular’ with the majority… They probably do agree more with the GOP than they’d let their constituents know.

    1. Good news…You are feeling better…me it will be a day or so….I agree I have always said that the 2 parties are just different sides to the same coin.

  5. I do hope you’re feeling better in the next day or so!

Yes, two sides of the same coin. I always laugh at my Dem-friends who are “so shocked” by unions such as the Shriver-Schwarzenegger one, but from my perspective, they’re not all that different. Democrats just don’t get that.

    1. There is an old saying that the definition of a liberal is someone who leaves the room when a fight breaks out….I added a radical starts the fight and the Conserv finds someone to fight it for them.
