Is This The Trigger?

Every time the US attacks some third world country the call goes out that we are starting WW3 and this Iranian thing is no different.

Here are some thoughts on the possibilities.

I am convinced that war will begin and Iran will be at the center of that war. The problem is that Iran is much stronger than Ukraine or Palestine, and therefore a proxy war against Iran will have unpredictable consequences. Among these, the least unpredictable is the generalization of the war when China concludes that, with the defeat of Iran (which is very likely), it will no longer have access to the energy resources essential for its expansion. It should be borne in mind that China has just suffered a huge defeat in Venezuela and that Latin American countries are to China what Middle Eastern countries are to the US. Their loyalty stems from convenience and, moreover, they are under increasing US pressure to reduce their relations with China.

It is therefore very likely that World War III will begin. As I said, the signs are evident, but that does not mean it will not come as a surprise. Just as Cuba is the same as Gaza, but without bombs, World War III could begin with any weak link in US-EU-Israel imperialism. I suspect that this weak link is the dollar as the world’s reserve currency. The war begins with the loss of economic power on a global scale and escalates with the collapse of dollar-based financial capital. Bombs can be used as causes or as consequences. The only way this will not happen is if the gold reserves that countries have been frantically accumulating prevent it. I highly doubt it.

Is there nothing we can do to prevent World War III?

Yes, there is.

1- An international petition asking UN Secretary-General António Guterres to resign immediately in view of the high probability of war and the UN’s inability to prevent it.

2- Take to the streets in defense of Cuba and Iran as we did in defense of Palestine.

3- Organize protests in front of the US and Israeli embassies and EU representations.

4- Considering that the most repugnant (though not the weakest) link in the US-EU-Israel triad is Israel, boycott Israel through the BDS movement.

Keep in mind NATO Article 5…..

Turkey and Iran are at odds over a missile allegedly fired at the Incirlik Air Base, a joint Turkish-US airbase near the city of Adana. Ankara reported Wednesday that a projectile originating in Iran was tracked over Iraq and Syria and disabled by NATO air and missile defenses above the eastern Mediterranean before it reached Turkish airspace, per Al Jazeera. A senior US military official said it was aimed at Incirlik and was shot down by an interceptor missile on the USS Oscar Austin, per the New York Times. There were no injuries, but Turkey lodged a formal protest with Tehran and warned it retains the right to respond to any hostile move.

Since the US and Israel launched attacks on Iran six days ago, Iran has fired missiles at US military facilities in neighboring countries, including the United Arab Emirates. However, Iran’s armed forces rejected the Turkish account on Thursday, insisting they had not launched any missile toward “friendly” Turkey and stressing their respect for its sovereignty, per Reuters. A deliberate attack on Turkey would “mark a major escalation and could activate NATO’s mutual defense clause,” the Times reports, though US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said there was “no sense” in the interception triggering Article 5.

Speaking to Reuters, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said there were no plans to trigger Article 5, though he described the incident as “serious.” A NATO rep previously condemned Iran’s “indiscriminate attacks across the region” while touting NATO’s “strong” defenses. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who has called the US and Israeli attacks on Iran “illegal,” said Turkey is coordinating with NATO allies and vowed to leave “absolutely nothing to chance” regarding border and airspace security.

Since this whole thing has been just a big bunch if lies….who do we believe?  Turkey or Iran.

Keep in mind that Turkey is a staunch supporter of Donny’s world view.

Are there triggers?

Has the predicted global collapse beginning?

A British historian has outlined three clues which he believes show that a global war has ‘already begun’.

After Donald Trump‘s decision to join forces with Israel and start a war with Iran last week (28 February) there has been growing concerns about the conflict spilling over in a wider war.

Iran has already launched military strikes against its neighbours in the Gulf states, Azerbaijan and Cyprus in response while Sir Richard Knighton, UK Chief of the Defence Staff, recently suggested we were living in ‘the most dangerous time of the last 30 years’ while speaking to the BBC.

Now historian Professor Anthony Glees has outlined three clues which he believes are signs which suggest a third global conflict is already here.

Speaking in a new interview with The Mirror, Professor Glees pointed to three signs – a war of choice, the mindset of leaders of involved nations and Trump’s commitment to continuing the conflict – are all signs which he believes confirm that a third global war is already here.

Personally I do not think it is starting but rather already in full swing before all this war crap….this has been coming and we ignored it and now it may be too late.

Under The Dome

How many movies have you seen where this city or that is protected by some magic dome from outside disasters?

How many people have predicted and seem to pray for World War 3?

Now to tie the two thoughts together.

Donald the Orange has offered up a defense for all those in-coming nuclear missile that will be launched at the US…

Former President Donald Trump recently announced that he would build an “impenetrable dome” over the U.S. if re-elected — to “protect our people” from the purported threat of nuclear attacks and World War III.

“World War III would be a catastrophe unlike any other,” he said in the video published on his Truth Social platform Friday. “This would make World War I and World War II like very small battles. The best way to ensure that such a conflict never happens is to be prepared with unmatched technology and unrivaled strength.”

“When I am commander in chief… I will work with Congress and our great military leaders — not the ones you see on television, I don’t consider them leaders,” he continued.” We’re gonna work with them to build a state-of-the-art, next-generation missile-defense shield.”

Trump then claimed “the world has become vastly more dangerous” under President Joe Biden and that any discussion of the “deadly menace” of nuclear war, as a purported result of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, has been tabled by the current administration.

“The ‘nuclear’ word is being mentioned all the time,” said Trump. “This is a word you’re not allowed to use. It was never used during the Trump administration, but now other countries are using that word against us because they have no respect for our leadership.”

There is an interesting video within the link….worth a look.

I always love to hear what the ex-president has to say these days…..some of his verbal crap is just too much….and this is one of those regurgitation.

Another is his idea about windmills and airplanes……

Donald Trump picked this weekend, while the country’s eyes were focused entirely elsewhere, to finally waddle out the gates of Mar-a-Lago and do something resembling campaigning for president. Had you forgotten he had, with much fanfare, announced he was running for president? Yeah, it seemed like he had too.

He had dinner with the deranged LibsOfTikTok woman last week, which could be considered a campaign event, we guess. Or is it more like when those Nazis came to dinner?

Oh well, anyway, Trump gave a campaign speech this weekend, his first of the 2024 campaign. It sounds like it was a real snoozer. It was in a high school auditorium, for the state GOP convention. Only Newsmax, OAN, and Real America’s Voice played it live. And bless his heart, but it sounds like he thinks windmills are making all the airplanes crash now.

That’s right, they don’t just create bird graveyards now. They “kill all the birds, destroy all the planes, and our beautiful oceans and seas and everything else.” The wind turbines are apparently escalating their murderous behavior.

Onto World War III?

As we begin the countdown to the New Year…..there a few things that we need to realize before we try to screw up another year.

People do not realize that a new Pentagon report has ominous predictions….especially how close a world war could possibly be……

When the Department of Defense released its annual report on Chinese military strength in early November, one claim generated headlines around the world. By 2030, it suggested, China would probably have 1,000 nuclear warheads — three times more than at present and enough to pose a substantial threat to the United States. As a Washington Post headline put it, typically enough: “China accelerates nuclear weapons expansion, seeks 1,000 warheads or more, Pentagon says.”

The media, however, largely ignored a far more significant claim in that same report: that China would be ready to conduct “intelligentized” warfare by 2027, enabling the Chinese to effectively resist any U.S. military response should it decide to invade the island of Taiwan, which they view as a renegade province. To the newsmakers of this moment, that might have seemed like far less of a headline-grabber than those future warheads, but the implications couldn’t be more consequential. Let me, then, offer you a basic translation of that finding: as the Pentagon sees things, be prepared for World War III to break out any time after January 1, 2027.

To appreciate just how terrifying that calculation is, four key questions have to be answered. What does the Pentagon mean by “intelligentized” warfare? Why would it be so significant if China achieved it? Why do U.S. military officials assume that a war over Taiwan could erupt the moment China masters such warfare? And why would such a war over Taiwan almost certainly turn into World War III, with every likelihood of going nuclear?

How accurate can this prediction be?

I mean we have been told for decades that WW3 is coming and the list of possible enemies grows and grows….and Uncle Joe has done NOTHING to make is a safer world.

As someone once stated…”Peace is but an illusion”.

Closing Thought–06Jan20

Waiting for World War 3!

With the tensions in the Middle East rising by the hour…..there seems to be a new interest in the possibility of a World War 3…..

Google Trends saw a spike of ‘World War 3’ searches on Friday just hours after a top Iranian commander was shot dead by a US  airstrike  at Baghdad international airport.

Top Iranian commander Qassem Soleimani was killed after America conducted airstrikes near Baghdad’s international airport.

The general’s death, confirmed by both Iran and the US, represents the most dramatic escalation between the two countries in recent history.

The Pentagon said US President Donald Trump had ordered Soleimani’s “killing” in ‘retaliation’ to a mob earlier this week besieging the US embassy in Baghdad.

Reacting to the incident, Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has vowed to take “severe revenge” for Soleimani’s death.

The heightening tensions sparked panic across the globe, with many struggling to make sense of what comes next.

The sense of uncertainty was captured in a sudden spike in searches for the term ‘world war 3’ recorded by Google Trends.

Likewise, Iran was the number 2 most searched trend on Google in the United States, with more than 500,000 searches for the topic. Qassem Soleimani was number 5.

I have written about this possibility before……https://lobotero.com/2018/11/30/what-of-a-world-war-3/

We are looking at another war……

As peace advocates voiced alarm at the very real prospect of all-out conflict with Iran following the assassination Thursday night of that country’s top military leader on orders from U.S. President Donald Trump, war hawks who have had their crosshairs trained on Iran for years enthusiastically celebrated Trump’s decision—and even suggested the president should go further by targeting the nation’s oil refineries.

“To the Iranian government:  If you want to stay in the oil business leave America and our allies alone and stop being the largest state sponsor of terrorism in the world,” tweeted Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), a longtime supporter of regime change in Iran.

Republican Sens. Marco Rubio (Fla.), Tom Cotton (Ark.), Jim Risch (R.-Idaho), and Ben Sasse (Neb.) joined the chorus of applause, hailing Trump for taking “decisive action.”

What Of A World War 3?

This report I read got me to thinking and that got me to the research mode that I do enjoy…..

There was something that a British general had to say……

A British general is warning his country and the West about Russia—a threat he calls worse than anything posed by ISIS or al-Qaeda, the BBC reports. “The Russians seek to exploit vulnerability and weakness wherever they detect it,” General Mark Carleton-Smith tells the Telegraph. “Russia today indisputably represents a far greater threat to our national security than Islamic extremist threats such as al-Qaeda and [ISIS].” Carleton-Smith, who led Britain’s fight against ISIS and in June became head of the British army, says military action has weakened Islamic militants. But in the wake of alleged poisoning and cyber-attacks, Russia looms large.

“Russia has embarked on a systematic effort to explore and exploit Western vulnerabilities, particularly in some of the non-traditional areas of cyber, space, undersea warfare,” he says. But he opposes any notion (perhaps like French President Emmanuel Macron’s) that would weaken the military strength of NATO. He says the “center of gravity of European security” should hold fast. “In my experience, we should reinforce success.” Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov derided Carleton-Smith’s remarks while visiting Lisbon, Radio Free Europe reports. “We cannot influence the British government’s decisions as to whom they trust to head its armed forces,” says Lavrov. “I hope they check the appropriateness of such decisions.”
What are the reports that will help us fight any war against Russia or China?

America’s military superiority has “eroded to a dangerous degree,” leaving the U.S. in a “crisis of national security,” especially if faced with more than one conflict at once, a new congressionally mandated report concluded.

“The U.S. military could suffer unacceptably high casualties and loss of major capital assets in its next conflict,” reads the report, issued Wednesday by the National Defense Strategy Commission. “It might struggle to win, or perhaps lose, a war against China or Russia. The United States is particularly at risk of being overwhelmed should its military be forced to fight on two or more fronts simultaneously.

https://www.defensenews.com/pentagon/2018/11/14/a-crisis-of-national-security-new-report-to-congress-sounds-alarm/

In case you were speed reading…..the report said that the US could possibly lose any conflict against China or Russia…..do I need to repeat that?

Russia or China?….does not look good…the predictions can be wrong but most times they are accurate…..time to re-think the “strong man” attitude and embrace a form of diplomacy.
But until we do that embracing…..read on and on…..

Congress commissioned a report from the National Defense Strategy Commission on Pentagon readiness. It is relatively predictable what these reports would boil down to, because they always come down to the same conclusion.

Despite vastly outspending every other country in the world on the military, the report concludes that US military superiority “has eroded to a dangerous degree,” and is facing a “crisis.” The solution they counsel is, as ever, a massive increase in military spending.

The report uses the typical scare-mongering to try to justify an increase in expenditures, claiming that the US “might struggle to win, or perhaps lose, a war against China or Russia,” and that the US might be “overwhelmed” in the even of two or more war fronts simultaneously.

This echoes, if perhaps in even more dire terms, past reports that also claimed the constant fighting of several wars is eroding readiness, and that the US needs to spend even more money. The problem is, the increased spending has kept being approved, and every time, it leads to a new round of reports warning that they need all the more money.

The US is always spending many-fold more money than anyone else, and fighting more wars than anyone else. Yet despite nations like Russia increasingly limiting their military goals, the reports are forever claiming Russia is seriously a threat to carry out attacks on the US home-front. Such claims are preposterous, but have reliably worked in getting more money.

Time to re-think the tactics of 50 years…..time to embrace diplomacy over the bully on the block attitude.

P.S. Don’t take it out on me…I am just passing along what some are reporting within the defense industry…..

North Korea–The Magical Subject

What can I say….the mere mention of this topic and there is wide array of emotions passed on through blogs and news reports……some want to take it down….others want to take out Lil Kim…..while others plead for calm and sanity…..and then there are those that keep saying that North Korea could very well start World War 3.

The site “The National Interests” seems to think that WW3 could break out over the mash up with NK…….

North Korea has achieved something remarkable: for an impoverished country with a GDP smaller than that of Rhode Island, it has built a nuclear and ballistic missile program. The result is a growing arsenal of nuclear weapons with an expanding level of reach. While North Korea’s nukes are in all likelihood meant for regime security, in the event of war, Pyongyang would attempt to deliver devastating nuclear strikes against American, South Korean and Japanese forces throughout the region, sapping them of the willpower necessary to topple the regime of Kim Jong-un.

North Korea is both more and less dangerous than it looks. While the country maintains a 1,190,000-strong armed force, one of the largest in the world, much of its equipment is obsolete. It is likely no longer likely capable of successfully invading South Korea. At the same time, it is assessed as having between ten and twenty nuclear weapons, and has tested a variety of ballistic-missile platforms, including medium-range, intermediate-range, submarine-launched and, as of July 4, intercontinental ballistic missiles. While many of these programs have had mixed success, particularly the Musudan missile, North Korea is clearly learning and advancing its abilities both in nuclear-weapons design and missile-delivery systems.

To be fair and balanced….not everyone sees the threat that the media and the president sees…..

South Korea’s intelligence agency does not believe North Korea has secured re-entry capabilities for its intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) program, a South Korean lawmaker said on Tuesday, disputing Pyongyang’s account.

Source: South Korea Says North Doesn’t Have ICBM Reentry Capabilities | World Affairs Journal

The site “Antimedia” has issued an op-ed to the contrary to popular thought…..

North Korea is a threat, goes the narrative. And we, as loyal Americans, should fear the potentiality of that fact.

That’s why U.S. aircraft carriers, accompanied by fighter jets and warships, are currently steaming toward the Korean Peninsula.

That’s why the best soldiers the United States military has to offer are currently in South Korea, training — goes the narrative — to take out Kim Jong-un.

That’s why Japan, staunch U.S. ally, is considering deploying troops to South Korea — in preparation for the time when that evil dictator from the north will try to harm Japanese nationals in the south.

Conveniently, if Japan does deploy those troops — and, let’s be honest, they will — that will put the coalition of Japan, South Korea, and the United States together on the Korean peninsula.

Consider that for a moment.

There!  You have two sides to the story.

Most Americans have already made their minds up and this post will do little to influence their thinking…….that may be…..but I had to try.

Take the Dems for instance….just what is their stance?  Mainly because there is not one……

On domestic policy, the Democratic Party is moving left. On foreign policy, the Democratic Party barely exists. Yes, Democrats like climate change agreements and oppose banning refugees. But those are extensions of the party’s domestic commitments. Yes, Democrats support a hard line against Vladimir Putin. But that’s mostly because he helped elect Donald Trump. What is the Democratic position on Syria’s civil war? Or Chinese imperialism in the South China sea? Or Saudi Arabia’s war in Yemen and bullying of Qatar? There isn’t one. President Obama stood for the proposition that America should resist costly military interventions and seek diplomatic agreements with longtime foes. When it comes to war and peace, the post-Obama Democratic Party doesn’t really stand for much at all.

Lurching Toward World War III

I know this may sound like one of those lovely vid games that the soul-less play…..but not this time….

With an election looming on the horizon and with all the chaos in the world…it is only a matter of time…..

These days there is a wealth of conspiracies about what will happen in the near future…..and of course as always there is a wealth of culprits that bring about the end as we know it…..some of the theories are just that lunatic mumbling from knuckle draggers…..there is always a group no mater the times that will bring about the end of our beloved civilization…..

I have writing about the possibility for a World War 3….there is some much hatred out there that it could be any day….the Middle East or South China Sea or Eastern Europe or Russia of even the lowly North Koreans…..so much happening and so little time……

Anti-Russian hysteria has reached extraordinary levels in Official Washington with heated allegations about Russia hacking Democratic Party emails, but this over-the-top “group think” threatens the world’s future, explains John Chuckman.

When did America’s establishment ever discuss, in elections or at other times, issues of war and peace for the people’s understanding and consent? Virtually never. There was no mandate for Vietnam, Cambodia, Iraq, Libya, Syria, or a dozen other conflicts.

Of course, once a war gets going, there is a tendency for Americans to close ranks with flags and ribbons and slogans such as “Support our troops” and “Love it or leave it.” The senior leaders know this psychological pattern, and they count on it, every time.
