Racial Resentment

For many years now those religious nationalists have been plugging away at anything that smacks of equality….then in the past decade these creeps have been winning this fight.

What is it about racial resentment?

It is silly when we allow any one group to lead on trying to return this country to yesteryear.

Just One Goose Step Away

I tried to get people to pay attention to the happenings in our political dealings and this one subject was about as popular as a turd in a punch bowl…..

First I began with the possibility of a theocracy….

Does Theocracy Approach?

Then I gave specifics on how it would be done and what people need to do to protect our nation from these mini-Nazis….

The BLITZ Is On!

What?  Cat got your typing finger?

What are you afraid of?

There is a danger brewing in this country and it is not necessarily the candidacy of Trump…..it is the success the christian nationalists are having implementing their playbook….

Time to pay damn attention!

Project Blitz is a concerted campaign by the Christian nationalist movement to implement radical, anti-equality state policies and attack lawmakers who oppose them. It uses a distorted idea of “religious freedom” to influence legislation—one state law at a time—to undermine religious equality, attack LGBTQ discrimination protections, and reduce access to reproductive health care.

FACT SHEET
Project Blitz
A State-Based Campaign Against Equality and Freedom of Religion
What is it?

Project Blitz is a concerted campaign by the Christian nationalist movement to implement radical, anti-equality state policies and attack lawmakers who oppose them. It uses a distorted idea of “religious freedom” to influence legislation—one state law at a time—to undermine religious equality, attack LGBTQ discrimination protections, and reduce access to reproductive health care.

How does it attack equality?
The Congressional Prayer Caucus Foundation, which is a major supporter of Project Blitz, has published a 148-page policy manual that includes templates for 21 legislative bills. In 2018, over 70 such bills were
introduced in state legislatures around the country, with even more expected in 2019. Unfortunately, some lawmakers who have supported these bills are unaware of the true nature and motivations of Project Blitz.
The manual advises that advocates start with measures that Project Blitz considers relatively easy to pass, and then build momentum by proposing more dangerous bills that offer very broad exemptions for allowing
religiously based discrimination. Project Blitz encourages the growth and spread of “prayer caucuses” in state legislatures to advocate for these bills, and it is succeeding—about 33 states have now established
prayer caucuses in their legislatures. The campaign also encourages “faith-baiting,” seeking to brand opponents of these bills as being against freedom of religion. The proposed legislation falls under three
categories:

Category One: Legislation Regarding Our Country’s Religious Heritage includes bills such as the mandatory display of “In God We Trust” in school classrooms as well as bills that mandate Bible instruction in public schools. According to the guide, these measures “do not garner much organized
outside opposition,” and even if a bill doesn’t pass, it can still “provide the basis to shore up later support for other governmental entities to support religious displays.”

Category Two: Resolutions and Proclamations Recognizing the Importance of Religious History and Freedom includes measures like “Recognizing the Importance of the Bible in History” and “Recognizing Christian Heritage Week” in order to promote the false narrative of the U.S. being
founded as a Christian nation. The guide warns that while these measures will be criticized as favoring Christianity, such opposition does “not play well among members of the general public,” and “making opponents take a recorded vote against them is a win in and of itself. For such
measures, a vote is a win, regardless of whether the bill passes.”

Category Three: Religious Liberty Protection Legislation includes the “most hotly contested” measures such as the “Resolution Establishing Public Policy Favoring Adoption by Intact Heterosexual, Marriage-based Families,” the “Child Protection Act,” which allows publically-funded
adoption and foster care placement agencies to discriminate against same-sex couples, and the “Teacher Protection Act” which unconstitutionally allows teachers and school administrators to proselytize to students. The guide says such legislation should not be proposed unless it can win,
and that success is more likely with measures narrowly crafted to focus on “small business owners, government employees, health care providers, pastors, adoption agencies, and so on.”

These people need to be squashed like a bug on a wind shield and if you want to help in that process…..For more information or to find out how we can help you oppose the Project Blitz agenda in your state, please visit http://www.BlitzWatch.org

None of this is what I embraced when I joined the military.

These people are dangerous and they are an infection that needs to be wiped out once and for all.

Why did people avoid the first two attempts that I made to educate and inform?

What are they afraid of….I ask one more time.

The BLITZ Is On!

****Warning this post may offend the ‘righteous’ but I take the Constitution seriously and for that reason I felt I had to re-post this piece****

As I stated I firmly believe that the first amendment is being violated by d/bags in the states by mandating religious issues in our schools.

This is a re-post from my blog that aggravates as much as possible.

Christian Bullshit At Its Best

All this is a concerted effort by christian nationalist to drive home their thoughts of supremacy.

Ever hear of Project Blitz?

Probably not so let me introduce you….

Project Blitz….

The guide instructs Christian nationalists to work in three phases.

First, they are supposed to pass bills that are expected to receive the least opposition. These “religious heritage” bills encourage or force public schools to offer Bible classes and display “In God We Trust,” as well as mandate the creation of “In God We Trust” license plates.

This first seemingly innocuous phase is meant to build enough momentum to pass “religious history and freedom” bills, which purport that America was, is, and will always be a Christian nation. Examples include “Year of the Bible” and “Christian Heritage Week” bills.

After grabbing this “low hanging fruit,” Christian nationalists move on to more dangerous bills that undermine equality by allowing discrimination in child welfare and religious refusals in health care.

There is so much more….read on…..

https://www.blitzwatch.org/

These religious zealots are doing what they accused Muslims of wanting to do 15 years ago…..any mandate on any religion is not in accordance with the Constitution….you can justify it any way we choose but the fact is it is a violation of our rights.

Someone needs to step up,besides the ACLU, and bring these policies down around the ears of the d/bags that pretend to be ‘christian’.

Enough said!

Forced Religion?

I do not usual comment on religion but there are times when I must step up and say my peace.

Recently Donald the Orange made a speech where he promised a ‘task force’ to impose Christian ideology…..

In recent campaign stops and on social media, Donald Trump has reprised lies aimed at inciting his Christian-right base against Joe Biden. These tirades, centered on the false charge that the Biden administration is persecuting Christians, aren’t just Trump’s typically dubious claims. Much like Trump’s lies about a stolen election, they are designed to immerse his loyalists in a grievance-laden alternative reality in which Trump alone can rescue them from an evil government threatening their freedom.

In a Dec. 19 speech in Iowa, for example, Trump pledged, “As soon as I get back in the Oval Office, I’ll also immediately end the war on Christians. I don’t know if you feel it. You have a war. There’s a war.” Speaking just after the Colorado Supreme Court disqualified him from appearing on the state’s GOP primary ballot, Trump tied this “war” to his own legal woes. “Under crooked Joe Biden, Christians and Americans of faith are being persecuted and government has been weaponized against religion like never before. And also presidents like never before,” he added. “I always say Al Capone was treated better than I was treated.”

Trump has promoted the theme of Christian persecution in the past, but is elevating it again as these legal issues mount. His clear purpose is to deflect attention from his own criminal liabilities by insinuating that the same Biden administration he falsely claims is unfairly targeting him for prosecution is similarly persecuting religious Americans.

Unsurprisingly, Trump’s ardent supporters see his and their “wars” as tied together. When he was indicted in a Manhattan court on charges that he illegally covered up hush money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels, his backers compared this supposed persecution to that of Jesus Christ. In a Truth Social video two days after his Iowa speech, Trump made this persecution pact complete. He contended that under Biden, “Christians and Americans of faith are being persecuted like nothing this nation has ever seen before.” Trump has also echoed wild and debunked claims from congressional Republicans about anti-Catholic bias by the Biden administration and the FBI in particular.

Those ‘Christian Nationalists’

Well it is Sunday and what better time than to post about these so-called ‘christians’ and their embrace of nationalism.

These people are attempting to inflict their personal beliefs ion the rest of America….kinda like the lie that Muslims were attempting to impose Sharia law of the rest of us…..now they are doing it and doing it successfully.

The past few weeks have been full of unsettling indicators of the fragile state of our democracy. The January 6th committee has assembled a frightening account of how close the 2020 election came to being violently overturned. The Supreme Court has lurched rightward, striking down the constitutional right to abortion and issuing a series of momentous decisions on guns, environmental regulation, and the separation of church and state. Researchers have begun to view these disparate political currents as part of a broader cultural, religious, and political phenomenon—one that is rooted in a specific reading of American history and, in particular, Christianity’s role in it. They call this concept white Christian nationalism. Samuel Perry, an associate professor at the University of Oklahoma and a co-author of “The Flag and the Cross: White Christian Nationalism and the Threat to American Democracy,” joins guest host Michael Luo to discuss the contours of this belief system, and the roles that guns and voting restrictions play in its implementation in U.S. politics.

(newyorker.com)

The religious Right has made great strives in controlling every aspect of our lives….Roe v Wade…..is just the beginning…..

With its decision overturning Roe v. Wade and ending national protections for abortion rights, the Supreme Court gave the religious right its greatest policy victory since the mass movement of white evangelical Protestants joined hands with the Republican Party more than 40 years ago.

The problem? The religious right’s unpopular policy of banning abortion is now reality, at least in certain states. Republicans can no longer hide behind Roe and express support for unpopular policies that will never become law. They will have to defend abortion bans, and other unpopular restrictions pushed by an emboldened religious conservative movement.

Republicans are already seeing how unpopular banning abortion can be. In the first vote on abortion since the court’s June decision, voters in Kansas ― a state that decisively voted to reelect Donald Trumprejected a referendum that would have overturned a state Supreme Court decision protecting abortion rights, and did so by a double-digit margin that exceeded Trump’s win there.

“It’s no longer a theoretical possibility,” Melissa Deckman, CEO of the Public Religion Research Institute, which tracks public opinion on politics and religion, said about the prospect of abortion bans. “It’s actual reality, and we’re seeing a backlash.”

I always get a chuckle out of these knuckle heads that spout ‘religious freedom’ as a way to control the population to their way of thinking…..look at history will help clarify what is going on….

A couple weeks back, Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito delivered the keynote address at the Notre Dame Law School’s second annual Religious Liberty Summit in Rome. Much of the subsequent attention has focused on Alito’s defense of the Court’s recent Dobbs decision on abortion, and especially his mocking of foreign leaders who had criticized that decision. But Alito’s remarks overall presented a far broader defense of religious liberty, which he defined throughout as under sustained attack from “our increasingly secular society.” He argued that there’s “growing hostility to religion, or at least the traditional religious beliefs that are contrary to the new moral code that it is ascendant in some sectors.” And he equated religious liberty with the necessary special protection of religion and religious communities from these attacks.

A sitting Supreme Court Justice delivering such pointed social and political commentary publicly seems a bit unusual (although it is far from unheard-of). But Alito’s remarks fit smoothly into a longstanding, indeed a defining, American debate. Religious liberty is one of America’s founding ideals, a quite literally revolutionary guarantee that any and all religions (including no religion) would be included and equal in this new nation. But in practice, far too often religious liberty has meant the freedom to equate the nation with Christianity and discriminate against and exclude those who are outside that perspective and community.

Both sides of that coin can be found in the story of one of the earliest European American communities, the New England Puritans. The Puritans made their way to the Americas in search of religious freedom, fleeing the persecution they and their extreme form of Protestant Christianity had faced in both England and Holland (as it was then known) and hoping to build a new community where they could practice that religion in peace. What Puritan lawyer and leader John Winthrop famously referred to as the “city upon a hill” in his 1630 speech “A Model of Christian Charity” was the idea that the world would be watching what happened with this community now that it would be finally free to practice and amplify those religious beliefs.

Even true Christians are not comfortable with the embrace of nationalism either…..and they offer a response to the crap spread by the nationalists that pretend they are doing what they do in the name of Christ.

How to answer when Christian nationalists embrace the label as a badge of honor

I all see is people that want to fleece the people and control every aspect of the lives…..keep them ignorant and in servitude.

I have no time for these slugs on humanity.

I was never a religious person…. but in 1980 when Reagan brought in religion to the government I back away for good….religion has no place in the decisions of our elected officials.

Religion is a private thing and should stay that way….between the person and whatever god he/she decides to embrace.  Keep your beliefs to yourself….if I want to hear them I will ask.(but don’t hold your breath)

Blame It On Gay Marriage!

There has been so many things that have been blamed on the institution of gay marriage……but the best is that this pandemic is God’s revenge on humanity for gay marriage.

A religious leader in Ukraine has done just that…blamed gays for the pandemic…..but there is a twist here……

leading church figure in Ukraine who previously described the coronavirus outbreak as “God’s punishment” against gay marriage has contracted COVID-19.

Patriarch Filaret, leader of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyiv Patriarchate, is in a stable condition in hospital after it was announced on September 4 that he had contracted the virus.

“We inform you that His Holiness Patriarch Filaret of Kyiv and All Rus-Ukraine tested positive for COVID-19 during planned testing,” the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyiv Patriarchate said in a statement.

We have heard it all about this pandemic and the virus that sparked it, right?

And this thing is showing the world just how goddamn ignorant we are…..

I thought I had and then I read something coming out of Alabama……a cure has been found!

A hands on faith healing!

A pastor in Alabama this week invited people who have been infected with coronavirus into his church so that they could be treated with the power of prayer, despite guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control to avoid large gatherings.

Patheos reports that Chris Bartlett, pastor of the Boaz Church of God in Boaz, Alabama, wrote a now-deleted Facebook post in which he criticized other churches for temporarily closing to help slow the spread of the disease.

“I am somewhat moved over the fact that all it takes to disassemble God‘s church is the threat of sickness by germ spreading,” he wrote. “It seems the early church wouldn’t have made very far with this type of timidity.”

https://www.rawstory.com/2020/03/alabama-pastor-invited-people-infected-with-coronavirus-into-church-for-faith-healing-treatment/

Then to add to the stupidity is as always ……social media…..

In times of a viral outbreak, why not make a viral video? That was the thought process of TikTok user Ava Louise, who once appeared on Dr. Phil’s show as a rebellious teen and confessed, “I want to have purpose and meaning.” The self-proclaimed Instagram influencer tried to give herself just that by making a TikTok video showing her licking an airplane toilet seat, with the words “coronavirus challenge” overlaying the clip. “Please RT this so people can know how to properly be sanitary on the airplane,” Louise posted. As of Wednesday, the video had more than 460,000 views on Twitter. Per Louise herself, she’d hoped the TikTok would catch on. “I’m looking for a record deal and a reality show about my messy life,” she tells People, which notes she’d posted inflammatory tweets about the virus previously, including one that read “coronavirus is for poor people and poor people only.”

Many weren’t happy with Louise’s stunt. “Put her ass in jail!” tweeted The View‘s Meghan McCain—to which Louise responded with an Instagram post showing her posing in a bikini, noting, “Meghan McCain could NEVER.” Business Insider—which notes Louise said she created the video to “trick boomers into giving her attention,” thanking media outlets for calling attention to it all—reports on a follow-up video by Louise that went up after the TikTok. In it, the 21-year-old, who says she’s a public relations major at Rutgers University, drinks a White Claw and reads from a scripted response, per Heavy.com. “You’re all so f—king stupid,” she says. “There’s a reason coronavirus is taking out people over 50, because you’re all idiots who ruined our country … Darwinism’s doing its job by knocking you out with this virus.” Response from the internet? “I’m sure her parents are proud,” tweets one observer.

The bitch that issued this challenge has seen a man go to the hospital for licking….

A man who filmed himself licking a toilet bowl in the ‘coronavirus challenge’ is now reportedly ill in hospital with the deadly disease.

In bizarre footage posted on TikTok, the man can be seen placing his mouth around the bowl and extending his tongue.

According to Piers Morgan on GMB, the same man is now receiving treatment.

The presenter said: “You may remember also the other idiot, this is also in America, as part of the coronavirus challenge some morons are doing, went into  his local toilet cubicle and licked the bowl.

“I think this called karma – he’s got coronavirus.”

https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/coronavirus-challenge-moron-who-licked-21749466

My grandfather use to say the stupidity was deadly.

This bitch that issued this challenge needs locking up and put into a rubber room in an asylum…..I’m thinking electro shock might help.

Need I say more?

Please people do not let panic and fear make you do something stupid.

If you are ill take your doctor’s advice….and stay calm…..

Closing Thought–25Nov19

I try to not post too much on religion…..one it is a personal choice and being so is of no importance to the dialog IST wants to have…..and two just not something I want to do…..

I read something about the VP….it does not surprise me for Pence is a theocrat and would force me to believe his brand of religious fervor if he had his chance….so when I read he was only using aid to benefit certain religions…..

Last November, a top Trump appointee at the U.S. Agency for International Development wrote a candid email to colleagues about pressure from the White House to reroute Middle East aid to religious minorities, particularly Christian groups.

“Sometimes this decision will be made for us by the White House (see… Iraq! And, increasingly, Syria),” said Hallam Ferguson, a senior official in USAID’s Middle East bureau, in an email seen by ProPublica. “We need to stay ahead of this curve everywhere lest our interventions be dictated to us.”

https://www.propublica.org/article/how-mike-pences-office-meddled-in-foreign-aid-to-reroute-money-to-favored-christian-groups

Then Trump considering a possible benchmark for receiving foreign aid……..

Aides to President Donald Trump are drafting plans to condition U.S. aid to other countries on how well they treat their religious minorities, two White House officials said.

The proposal is expected to cover U.S. humanitarian assistance, and could also be broadened to include American military aid to other countries. If the proposal becomes reality, it could have a major effect on U.S. assistance in a range of places, from Iraq to Vietnam. Its mere consideration shows how much the White House prioritizes religious freedom, an emphasis critics say is really about galvanizing Trump’s evangelical Christian base.

https://www.politico.com/news/2019/11/11/trump-weighs-foreign-aid-religious-freedom-069595

This is just a way to promote one religion over another….we can call it whatever we want but it is not the business of the US to pick a country’s religion for them…..this will strain relations with Middle East and India for sure.

Keep in mind that most Americans do NOT want religion as part of the government…..

While Americans largely have a positive view of the role of religion in public life, they overwhelmingly want religious institutions to stay out of politics, a new survey from the Pew Research Center has found.

Sixty-three percent of U.S. adults believe churches and other houses of worship should “keep out” of political matters. When asked if religious institutions should endorse political candidates, 76 percent say no. And a plurality of adults—at 37 percent—believe that religious groups already have “too much” political influence.

Category:   The More Money Than Brains……

Every product looks for the gimmick that will make it stand out from the rest of the similar products…..and Athletic shoes are NO different…..however there is a new twist to the shoe…..

A new example of “some people have more money than brains”……

Have you ever imagined what it felt like when Jesus walked on water?

While you may never have that surreal experience, an American creative firm MSCHF, has created shoes that let you literally walk on water and not just any type of water but holy water.

The repurposed Nike shoes dubbed “Jesus Shoes” went on sale for $1,425 (₦514,425) Tuesday and (wait for it) sold out within a minute!

MSCHF bought a normal pairs of Nike Air Max 97 sneakers at retail value and completely revamped the shoe and added a golden Jesus on a crucifix as a shoelace charm.

MSCHF also sourced holy water from the River Jordan, which was blessed by a priest in Brooklyn and injected the Air Max 97 bubble soles.

Finally……some rain…3 hours of steady rain and lower temps by about 10 degrees….makes it almost bearable…..

I am always amazed at the lengths some ‘Christians” will go to to abuse their fellow man/woman….the latest is no surprise nowadays…..

Homeless people drawn in by promises of food and a place to stay got something a little different: stints of forced labor in which they were made to beg for money for up to nine hours a day, six days a week. That was just one of the allegations mentioned in a federal grand-jury indictment unsealed Tuesday that says a dozen leaders of the nondenominational Imperial Valley Ministries, based in California, not only forced their victims to panhandle, but also to hand over their welfare benefits, CNN reports. It’s “an appalling abuse of power by church officials who preyed on vulnerable homeless people with promises of a warm bed and meals,” US Attorney Robert Brewer says in a Justice Department release. “These victims were held captive, stripped of their humble financial means, their identification, their freedom, and their dignity.”

The indictment details the accusations against the leaders of the ministry, which runs churches and group homes in the US and Mexico. Among them: that leaders brought their victims to these group homes and then locked them in (at some locations, the windows were said to be nailed shut, in addition to deadbolts on the door); took away the victims’ driver’s licenses, passports, and other forms of ID; and forced them to beg and give up their welfare benefits “for the financial benefit of the church leaders.” All identified victims are now free. The defendants, who were arrested in San Diego and El Centro, Calif., as well as in Brownsville, Texas, will face charges of forced labor, conspiracy, benefits fraud, and document servitude. Arraignments started Tuesday

Stories like this one just reinforces my objections to so-called ‘Christians’……

I believe it was Gandhi that stated…”Christianity is a marvelous concept….a shame that it has never been attempted”  (I am sure that my quote is a paraphrase but the point is there).

Be thankful that I am not the judge or on the jury for in my book these people and their ilk should burn……take that anyway you choose).
