Yes we are still on this…..why?  Because the prez has weaponized a personal army within the DHS and it is getting worse and more blatant in its tactics.

But they say because of the shooting deaths in Minneapolis the reform of tactics will be forthcoming.

Will it?

It will begin with the recall of ICE agents…..

In the aftermath of the slayings in Minneapolis of two civilians, Renee Good and Alex Pretti, and the mass protests that ensued, Trump’s border czar has announced he’s withdrawing 700 ICE agents from the city. Trump himself has also indicated his administration is backing down from its hardline tactics.

A disturbing finding in the Edelman survey is that 40 per cent of respondents approve of one or more hostile actions to bring about change. This includes “attacking people online, intentionally spreading disinformation, threatening of committing violence, damaging public or private property.”

This willingness to take hostile action is the highest I have seen in my 45 years of research into public order and protest. It is far higher than numbers found in the 2017-22 World Values Survey of 102 countries that asked five questions about political action.

In that survey, only 35 per cent globally said they “might” get involved in a peaceful protest, while 46 per cent “would never.” In Canada, 48 per cent said they would get involved in a peaceful protest; 29 per cent would never. In the U.S., 55 per cent of respondents reported they “might” and 34 per cent wouldn’t.

President Donald Trump revealed that his administration has a list of at least five American cities they hope to target after the immigration operation in Minneapolis.

In a sit-down interview with NBC Nightly News anchor Tom Llamas on Wednesday, Feb. 4, Trump was asked about the Department of Homeland Security’s controversial handling of immigration enforcement — including the recent shooting deaths of U.S. citizens Renee Good and Alex Pretti at the hands of federal agents, and whether he believes their deaths were justified.

“No. I don’t. I — it should’ve not happened,” Trump, 79, replied. “It was a very sad — to me it was a very sad incident, two incidents.”

Trump’s regretful response — a stark contrast from the messaging that others in his administration have spread about Good and Pretti, including labeling them as “domestic terrorists” — led Llamas to ask whether there was a shift on the horizon in how agencies like Immigration and Customs Enforcement and U.S. Customs and Border Protection will be operating as they carry out his mass deportation program.

Those are the complaining words of Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R–La.), who was voicing his support for the actions of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which now claims that its agents have the right to forcibly enter private homes without first obtaining a warrant signed by a judge. According to ICE, its agents may forcibly enter homes in certain immigration enforcement contexts based merely on a so-called “administrative warrant,” which is not actually a warrant at all, but is rather just a piece of paper signed by someone in the executive branch.

To fully appreciate the inherent lawlessness of the Johnson view, simply replace the phrase “getting a judicial warrant” with any constitutional requirement that you like in the above-quoted statement. For example:

  • “Imagine if we had to go through the process of guaranteeing freedom of speech.”
  • “Imagine if we had to go through the process of respecting the right to keep and bear arms.”
  • “Imagine if we had to go through the process of paying just compensation when private property is taken for a public use.”

You get the idea.

When a government mouthpiece complains that it would be too difficult to follow the commands of the Constitution in a given context, that’s a dead giveaway that the government is already violating (or planning to violate) the commands of the Constitution in that context.

There has been a shake up as well all know within ICE…..some think it is because of the massive protests and public outcry…..I am skeptical to be honest…..but there are some changes that seem to be for the better….like ICE Goons will be wearing body cams now…..they may wear them but will they be turned on?

Body cameras are about to become standard gear for federal immigration officers working the streets of Minneapolis, NBC News reports. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced Monday that every DHS officer in the field there will now be equipped with body-worn cameras, a move she framed on X as a step toward greater transparency. She added that DHS plans to expand the program to agents across the country as money becomes available. She promised a “rapid” rollout of the program nationwide, CNN reports.

The decision follows intense criticism of immigration enforcement operations in Minneapolis, where federal agents have been conducting what officials call a “surge.” Two US citizens, Renee Good and Alex Pretti, were shot and killed in separate encounters with federal officers on Jan. 7 and Jan. 24, respectively. Bystander recordings from both incidents have raised questions about earlier descriptions from Noem and other officials regarding what happened.

Part of the growing concern for ICE accountability has been shown by a court statement….where it is said that they, ICE, has violated a 100 or so court orders while in Minneapolis.

JD Vance just got outed pushing an allegedly bogus account of an encounter between immigration enforcement agents and protesters in Minnesota.

“When I was in Minneapolis, I heard a number of crazy stories,” the vice president posted this week, outlining one incident “near the top of the list.”

Vance claimed that off-duty ICE agents and officers with Customs and Border Protection had stopped for dinner at a restaurant in the Twin Cities earlier this month.

According to him, they were “doxed and their location revealed, and the restaurant was then mobbed,” with the federal agents then supposedly “locked in” at the premises as “local police refused to respond to their pleas for help.”

“This is just a taste of what’s happening in Minneapolis,” Vance wrote.

Border adviser Tom Homan said Wednesday that roughly 700 federal agents will be pulled out of the state, part of a broader effort to wind down “Operation Metro Surge” in Minneapolis, which has brought more than 3,000 agents into a city with just 600 local officers, per NBC News. Homeland Security officials say about 3,000 undocumented immigrants have been arrested during the two-month operation. The drawdown, accompanied by a consolidated chain of command in Minneapolis, follows nationwide protests and intense scrutiny after federal agents fatally shot two US citizens, Renee Good and Alex Pretti.

Top officials initially labeled Pretti a “domestic terrorist” before any full investigation; Trump later called the killing “very unfortunate” and spoke of “de-escalation,” though he went on to describe Pretti as an “agitator and, perhaps, insurrectionist” on Friday after video showed Pretti kicking an immigration enforcement vehicle. Homan cited increased collaboration and “a safer environment” for the change, per the AP. But tensions remain high, with near-daily viral videos of clashes in the city. On Tuesday, immigration agents drew guns as they arrested activists who’d been tailing them. It’s seen as the latest sign of Trump’s quick pivot on Minneapolis after a bipartisan backlash over the shooting of protester Alex Pretti. Noem’s job appears safe, according to the Times, but she has been essentially replaced in Minneapolis by border czar Tom Homan. Also out of Minneapolis is Border Patrol official Gregory Bovino. Both he and Noem, along with Stephen Miller, had quickly painted Pretti as a domestic terrorist out to kill federal agents, but the backlash ensued when video and eyewitnesses contradicted that narrative.

Trump fielded calls on Sunday from Republicans including Sen. Lindsey Graham warning him that the White House’s immigration agenda was at risk because of the grim TV images, and that Trump needed to make moves quickly, reports the Wall Street Journal. Getting rid of Bovino was an easy first step, per Axios. “He’s a cowboy, and it was a mess,” a source familiar with the president’s thinking tells the outlet. “It was only escalation, and no one was going to back down. Homan going in is a good thing. Someone needed to step in.”

Trump also adopted a much friendlier tone toward Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz after the two spoke by phone on Monday. The Journal reports on part of a deal they struck: Trump would pull some federal agents out of the city if Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey provided more cooperation to the remaining agents who are trying to arrest people in the US illegally. The first agents are expected to leave on Tuesday. House Democrats, meanwhile, plan to open an investigation into Noem next week as part of a push to impeach her, reports the Washington Post.

Milan’s leader says ICE agents aren’t welcome in the city following reports that they’ll have a role in US security at the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics kicking off next week. The Department of Homeland Security confirmed the reports Tuesday, per CNN, saying ICE would have a “security role” but would not conduct immigration enforcement operations. ICE said its Homeland Security Investigations division would support the State Department’s Diplomatic Security Service and the “host nation” to consider risks from “transnational” criminal groups, while conceding that “all security operations remain under Italian authority,” per CBS News.

HSI has helped with security at various international events, including Olympic Games, per the AP. But there’s intense backlash to the plan this year given the international uproar over ICE operations and the killings of US citizens, including Alex Pretti and Renee Good. Milan Mayor Giuseppe Sala on Tuesday blasted the alleged plan, calling ICE “a militia that kills” in an interview with Italian media. He accused the agency of entering homes on its own authority and said there was no guarantee of adherence to Italy’s “democratic security management methods.” “It’s clear that they’re not welcome in Milan,” he said. “We can take care of their security ourselves.”

Veteran Italian lawmaker Carlo Calenda warned the “out-of-control militia … must not set foot in Italy,” per CNN, while former Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte urged officials to stop “bowing” to the US. Despite his criticism, Sala acknowledged the diplomatic realities of challenging Washington, asking rhetorically, “Could we ever say no to Trump?” But the answer may be yes. According to the BBC, Italy’s interior ministry insisted Monday that “ICE will certainly not operate on Italian national territory.” The backlash, including several public petitions, intensified after Italian state TV aired footage from Minneapolis that showed ICE agents threatening to smash the windows of a vehicle carrying its crew.

It is sad that Donny creates the chaos on our cities now he wants to do the same internationally.

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi sent a letter to Minnesota Democratic Governor Tim Walz demanding the state take three specific actions before federal immigration agents would consider reducing their presence in Minneapolis, including handing over voter rolls.

In the letter, Bondi blamed both state and local leaders for the unrest that has come in response to the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement operations. She said that Walz could “restore the rule of law.”

The letter comes after a Border Patrol agent shot and killed Alex Jeffrey Pretti, a 37-year-old ICU nurse, during a federal immigration enforcement operation. The shooting of Pretti comes less than three weeks after Renee Good, a 37-year-old mother of three, was shot dead by an immigration agent in the same city.

Both incidents have sparked widespread protests and condemnation. In the case of both shootings, conflicting narratives have come from federal and state officials, and video footage taken by bystanders at both incidents has sparked questions and criticism.

Federal agents said that Pretti resisted violently, and Security Secretary Kristi Noem has said that an official fired “defensive shots.” Walz, though, has said that this account is “nonsense” and “lies.”

It appears that President Trump is looking to lower the temperature on tensions in Minnesota. In a Truth Social post on Monday, Trump said he had a “very good call” with Gov. Tim Walz, adding that, “we, actually, seemed to be on a similar wavelength.” As the Hill notes, it’s a notable shift from Trump’s previous criticism of Walz, whom he blamed for inflaming tensions in Minneapolis.

  • Walz has not commented yet on the call, but a spokesman for his office said Trump agreed to consider reducing the number of federal agents in the state, and to speak with federal officials to ensure an independent investigation into the fatal shootings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, per the New York Times.
  • Separately, Trump also announced that he was sending border czar Tom Homan to Minnesota to oversee ICE operations in the state, reports Politico. Homan “has not been involved in that area, but knows and likes many of the people there,” Trump wrote, adding that Homan will report directly to him.
  • Trump said he spoke with Walz about Homan, adding that Walz was “happy” with the move. Homan and Walz are expected to speak directly soon.

Mississippi–The Old Switch-A-Roo

WE all know the game the GOP is playing with gerrymandering….they are making it so that any minority vote is diluted given them a win.  My state did so recently in the Northwestern part of the state to try and nullify the minority vote because it is a bastion of liberal voters.

There attempt went to Federal Court and it did not turn out well for them…

A federal court has ordered Mississippi to redraw its 2022 state legislative maps in several areas after concluding those maps unlawfully dilute the voting strength of Black Mississippians.

Civil rights advocates challenged the maps and showed at trial that the maps violate Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act. Plaintiffs presented extensive expert testimony and testimony from Black Mississippians from across the state to show that the political process in the challenged legislative districts was not equally open to Black voters.

The American Civil Liberties Union, ACLU of Mississippi, Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, Mississippi Center for Justice, and civil rights attorney Carroll Rhodes filed the lawsuit on behalf of the Mississippi State Conference of the NAACP and voters from across the state.

The court ruled that multiple new Black-majority districts should have been created — at least two in the state Senate and one in the state House. In the absence of Black-majority districts, stark racial polarization, combined with the history of racial discrimination in the state and other factors, deprives Black voters in the state of the right to participate equally in the political process, in violation of Section 2.

The ruling, issued last night, requires the creation of new Black-majority Senate districts in the areas around DeSoto County in Northern Mississippi and in and around the city of Hattiesburg, and a new Black-majority House district in Chickasaw and Monroe counties.

Federal Court Orders Mississippi’s State Legislative Maps to Be Redrawn

State Senator Michael McLendon has introduced new legislation that would offer state grants to encourage state and local law enforcement agencies to cooperate with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Senate Bill 2329, known as the Mississippi Glacier (ICE) Act, creates a first-of-its-kind state grant program to support Mississippi law enforcement agencies that partner with ICE through the federal 287(g) program. The bill establishes a dedicated fund to reimburse local agencies for costs tied directly to enforcing federal immigration law, including detention bed space, equipment, training, travel, and lodging.
“Mississippi is not going to pretend illegal immigration is someone else’s problem,” said Senator McLendon. “If you are here illegally, we are going to work with ICE to detain you and send you back to the country you came from, which more often than not is a far greater punishment than jail.”
Under the legislation, only agencies that formally partner with ICE through a signed 287(g) agreement are eligible for funding. Grants will be awarded by the Mississippi Department of Public Safety on a first-come, first-served basis, ensuring fast and efficient support for agencies that are willing to help enforce federal immigration law.
The Mississippi Glacier (ICE) Act creates a special fund within the State Treasury to ensure long-term, stable support for participating agencies.
McLendon said SB 2329 is also a direct response and solution to the burdens illegal immigration places on taxpayers and already crowded local jails throughout Mississippi.
“Housing illegal immigrants is costly,” said McLendon. “This bill will help alleviate that burden on sheriffs and county governments so that money can be used to hire more deputies, buy more equipment or improve infrastructure.”
Currently, the federal 287(g) program allows state and local agencies to assist ICE through task force, jail, and warrant service models. SB 2329 is designed to dramatically expand Mississippi’s participation in all three, effectively creating a statewide force multiplier for ICE.
The Mississippi Glacier (ICE) Act would take effect July 1, 2026, if passed by the Legislature and signed by the Governor.

New Power For ICE?

America has its band of legal thugs called ICE….they can do whatever they want with no oversight…..they can detain citizens, jail citizens, arrest protesters, all in all just intimidate the citizenry….and now there is a new power the Gestapo has in its hands….

Federal immigration officers are asserting sweeping power to forcibly enter people’s homes without a judge’s warrant, according to an internal Immigration and Customs Enforcement memo obtained by the AP, marking a sharp reversal of longstanding guidance meant to respect constitutional limits on government searches. The memo authorizes ICE officers to use force to enter a residence based solely on a more narrow administrative warrant to arrest someone with a final order of removal, a move that advocates say collides with Fourth Amendment protections and upends years of advice given to immigrant communities. The shift comes as the Trump administration dramatically expands immigration arrests nationwide, deploying thousands of officers under a mass deportation campaign that is already reshaping enforcement tactics in cities such as Minneapolis.

For years, immigrant advocates, legal aid groups, and local governments have urged people not to open their doors to immigration agents unless they are shown a warrant signed by a judge. That guidance is rooted in Supreme Court rulings that generally prohibit law enforcement from entering a home without judicial approval. The ICE directive directly undercuts that advice at a time when arrests are accelerating under the administration’s immigration crackdown. The memo itself has not been widely shared within the agency, according to a whistleblower complaint, but its contents have been used to train new ICE officers who are being deployed into cities and towns to implement the president’s immigration crackdown. New ICE hires and those still in training are being told to follow the memo’s guidance instead of written training materials that actually contradict the memo, according to the whistleblower disclosure.

It is unclear how broadly the directive has been applied in immigration enforcement operations. The AP witnessed ICE officers ramming through the front door of the home of a Liberian man, Garrison Gibson, with a deportation order from 2023 in Minneapolis on Jan. 11, wearing heavy tactical gear and with their rifles drawn. Documents reviewed by the AP revealed that the agents only had an administrative warrant—meaning there was no judge who authorized the raid on private property. Homeland Security spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin said in an e-mailed statement to the AP that everyone the department serves with an administrative warrant has already had “full due process and a final order of removal.”

My daughter has to work two days a week in New Orleans…..her mother is Thai and of course I am a whitey she appears more Hispanic than Asian and I am always concerned that she may get caught up in of of the damn stupid ‘sweeps’…..for that reason I have her text me every two hours and immediately if she gets caught up in some illegal sweep.

I worry for her safety.

ICE is in the process of hiring more malignant thugs so they can go door to door searching for anyone that they can bully.

It has become a scene from a bad war movie where the Gestapo is harassing people on the street to produce their papers.

And it is getting worse especially if you are a person of color…..they will zero in on you for the strong arm tactics….

“Your papers, please” is the almost universal cultural sign that you’re in an authoritarian police state. The phrase originates in the classic movie Casablanca, set in a Nazi-controlled city during World War II. The very first line in the movie is a police officer asking a scared civilian, “May we see your papers, please?”, shortly followed by the civilian being summarily executed.

This scene is becoming reality in Minneapolis. As indicated in multiple videos posted to social media over the last few days, ICE agents are roaming the streets and detaining random people for what they describe as “citizen checks”, demanding proof that they are American citizens.

“I parked my car and began walking toward the 24 Somali Mall where I suddenly 4 men who looked like soldiers suddenly jumped out of a car and surrounded me . They told me they needed to verify whether I was a citizen. I was scared. I was devastated. I never imagined that something like this could happen to me in the United States.”

The modus operandi seems to be for ICE to patrol the streets searching for any non-caucasian, before surrounding and threatening them. A victim says they pointed out that there’s no requirement for a person minding their own business to carry ID. The officer then told them, “OK, do you have some ID, then, please? If not, we’re going to put you in the vehicle, and we’re going to ID you.”

This is apparently done non-consensually through a facial recognition system, with ICE snapping an image of you and running it through their system to see if they have the right to haul you off to a detention camp.

Do ICE Agents Have Immunity?

Donny’s Goon Platoon has made of habit of killing American citizens and now it appears that they have absolute immunity for their actions.

Under normal circumstances they do not….but nothing about Donny’s tearing up our rights is nothing normal.

But there we are…..

Vice President JD Vance’s claim Thursday that an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer who fatally shot Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis is “protected by absolute immunity” drew immediate pushback from experts who said the legal landscape around a potential prosecution is far more complicated.

Speaking at the White House, Vance appeared to try to stymie any efforts by Minnesota prosecutors to pursue a criminal case against the agent.

“The precedent here is very simple. You have a federal law enforcement official engaging in federal law enforcement action – that’s a federal issue. That guy is protected by absolute immunity. He was doing his job,” Vance said, echoing others in the Trump administration. “I’ve never seen anything like that. It would get tossed out by a judge.”

That assessment was quickly met with skepticism by experts who said the vice president was overstating the law around immunity for federal officials. Vance’s comments come amid nationwide protests of ICE officials and criticism of the agency’s efforts to carry out a historic deportation campaign with little to no oversight.

“The idea that a federal agent has absolute immunity for crimes they commit on the job is absolutely ridiculous,” said Michael J.Z. Mannheimer, a constitutional law expert at Northern Kentucky University’s Salmon P. Chase College of Law.

Mannheimer said that more than 120 years of case law on the issue of so-called supremacy clause immunity has shown that federal officials can be criminally pursued by state prosecutors for conduct taken in the course of their official duties but that it’s up to courts to ultimately determine whether they can be shielded from the charges.

“Officers are not entitled to absolute immunity as a matter of law,” said Timothy Sini, a former federal prosecutor in New York.

On Wednesday, an ICE agent killed a woman in her vehicle on the streets of Minneapolis. She was reportedly a U.S. citizen. But then President Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem made their own conduct even more damning by blaming the victim and insisting the officer acted out of legitimate self-defense. The video Trump posted didn’t come close to supporting his claims. Other videos strongly suggested the officer wasn’t at all in a life-threatening situation and that lethal force was in no way justified, and Minnesota officials vehemently backed that up. DHS officials then leaked that the agent had violated use-of-force protocol. We talked to New Republic contributing editor Felipe De La Hoz, who writes well about ICE accountability. That’s the amount of time between the first two gunshots fired by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent in the deadly shooting of a U.S. citizen in Minneapolis Wednesday, according to an ABC News metadata analysis.

The circumstances surrounding 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good‘s death have ignited a national firestorm, with leaders of Minnesota’s largest city, along with numerous lawmakers, condemning the ICE agents’ actions, while federal officials say that the agents acted in self defense after Good tried to ram them with her car in an act of domestic terrorism.

The explosive Daily Mail report found that the administration’s $50,000 signing bonus attracted droves of unqualified recruits — high school grads who can “barely read or write,” overweight candidates with doctor’s notes saying they’re unfit, and even applicants with pending criminal charges.

The report exposed how Immigration and Customs Enforcement took a blowtorch to hiring standards, with one Department of Homeland Security official blasting: “We have people failing open-book tests and we have folks that can barely read or write English.”

Officials sent recruits to a Georgia training center before drug test results came back, later discovering some tested positive.

At the academy, some recruits showed up with tattoos tied to gangs and white supremacists. One bailed for a court date on a gun charge, and another was arrested for exploding at a bus driver. To boot, sex harassment accusations emerged, with a source describing to the Daily Mail predatory behavior during training.

The report poured cold water on ICE claims that over 85 percent were experienced officers already trained.

Insider sources told independent journalist Radley Balko that the FBI was “initially open to a concurrent investigation” with the Minnesota BCA, but then Trump-appointed Minnesota US Attorney Daniel Rosen “intervened” and barred the agency from cooperating with local officials on the probe.

“Practically, unless something changes, Rosen’s intervention means there will be no independent police agency investigating the shooting,” Balko added. “It will be left entirely to Kash Patel’s FBI. Any chance of state charges will be entirely reliant on the FBI investigation and what evidence it decides to share.”

When asked by a journalist about the decision to end cooperation with Minnesota investigators on Thursday, US Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem insisted that “they have not been cut out,” but said that rather “they don’t have any jurisdiction in this investigation.”

The Trump administration believes you don’t have the right to record Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers in public. This stance is both factually wrong and an attempt to chill free speech by conflating it with violence.

At a July 2025 press conference in Tampa, Florida, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem said, “Violence is anything that threatens them and their safety, so it is doxing them, it’s videotaping them where they’re at when they’re out on operations, encouraging other people to come and to throw things, rocks, bottles.”

In September 2025, DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin called “videotaping ICE law enforcement and posting photos and videos of them online” a form of doxing. She added, “We will prosecute those who illegally harass ICE agents to the fullest extent of the law.”

These aren’t idle threats. The Trump administration strong-armed Apple into removing an app from its mobile store that tracked ICE activity and threatened criminal investigations into its creators.

Vice President JD Vance on Thursday lashed out at the media and “left-wing” activists whom he blamed for the death of Minneapolis resident Renee Good at the hands of a federal immigration enforcement agent.

During a press conference at the White House, a reporter asked Vance if there was anything he could say to unite America in the wake of Good’s killing by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent, and Vance responded by immediately attacking the media.

“The reporting over this has been one of the biggest scandals I’ve ever seen in media,” Vance complained. “I’ve never seen a case so misrepresented and misreported. We have a guy who was defending himself, who is now being treated as some sort of federal assassin by so many of the people in this room.”

Vance also described Good as “a woman who aimed her car at a law enforcement officer and pressed on the accelerator.”

I will say this: The news sort of turned her down, turned her off, because you’re trying to watch — she was so loud and so crazy, and just not normal. You have agitators, but we’ll always be protecting ICE, we’re always gonna be protecting our border patrol, and our law enforcement.
