That Elusive Leader

Ever since the idiots in the admin have been trying to make antifa some sort of organization and to do this they need a ‘leader’ to point to if they want their accusations to appear legitimate….so far all they have done is show their ignorance.

This saga began in earnest back in Missouri with the death of a black man and the protests that followed….the government could not believe that the American people could be so audacious as to protest that massive…..so they began to look for a lie to blame for the actions taken and they came upon a little known (at that time) of a group that were already known for their confrontation….the antifa.

Thus the government set about turning this loose group of protesters into this international organization that thrived on confrontation.

Then came the Goon Platoon (ICE) into LA and the protests grew bigger and louder and the government hit upon turning antifa into the excuse for the protests and confrontation.

While trying to build their case they came upon a book written by Mark Bray, the Antifa Handbook, and he became the ‘leader’ of this group.  The problem was that the book was a history book of the anti-fascist movement not a how to book….but that did not matter they kept pushing Bray as the ‘leader’ of the group….it got so bad Bray had to take his wife and kids and go overseas to avoid all the hate that the government had generated.

Now the government had to look for a new ‘leader’ that they could blame for all the unrest…..and they finally tagged another individual as the mastermind of antifa….

President Donald Trump’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has identified 29-year-old Portland, Oregon resident Chandler Patey as “the leader of Antifa,” according to internal DHS documents leaked to journalist Kenneth Klippenstein. Klippenstein notes that Patey and other “Antifa protestors” identified in the federal documents demonstrate the shoddy reasoning the federal government will use to just to label any protestor as a domestic terrorist.

The DHS decided that Patey leads Antifa, which Trump has designated as a “domestic terrorist organization,” because Patey has been “seen in many videos advocating the principles of [anti-fascism]” and because he allows protestors to use his bathroom and medical supplies to rinse off tear gas inflicted by federal agents at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainment facility near his downtown Portland apartment.

While Patey also provides medical equipment and gas mask filters that protestors might need after federal agents attack them for expressing their First Amendment rights, Fox News host Laura Ingraham and other right-wing media commentators have used these as a basis to claim that Patey is running an ominous-sounding “Antifa safehouse.”

In reality, Antifa is a decentralized political ideology with autonomous, local groups but no formal leaders. Antifa activists primarily oppose institutional fascism and racism in government.

https://www.lgbtqnation.com/2026/02/quick-hit-has-identified-the-leader-of-its-a-29-year-old-who-helps-tear-gassed-protestors/

So the lies begin again on some poor person that was a face in the crowd.

My biggest bitch is the term ‘domestic terrorist organization’…..organization implies an organized group with a leader, dues, headquarters, etc….antifa has NONE of these….more lies and bullshit from the sub-par mind of the Donny brigade.

STOP!  believing the bullshit….these are people that have had enough of racism and the fascist policies of Donny and his group of garden slugs.

You should be worried about the direction and the tactics of this government…..if not then you are NOT a true American.

What Will It Take?

For at least a decade (it really began on 1980 and slowly burst into flames in 2010) we have heard that the US is looking at a second civil war some even think this is our second revolution…..but what will it take for these dire predictions to come to life?

There is a simulation that states we are looking at the beginnings of a new civil war….

What’s the most surefire way to achieve Civil War 2.0 in the United States? According to one wild simulation, it’s exactly what’s happening right now in Minneapolis.

In October 2024, researchers at the Center for Ethics and the Rule of Law (CERL) at the University of Pennsylvania conducted an experiment in which a president ordered a widely condemned federal law enforcement operation in the city of brotherly love.

To carry out the operation, the simulated president tried to federalize the Pennsylvania national guard, which the governor resisted. National guard troops who sided with the state followed suit, prompting the fictional president to order acting US military troops to march on Philly.

According to CERL director Claire Finkelstein’s breakdown of the simulation, newly published in the Guardian, the experiment culminated in a “violent confrontation” between state and federal forces in a major US metropolis.

Finkelstein notes that the war gaming exercise included actual government officials and former senior military leaders, none of whom “considered the scenario unrealistic.” The results were based off the assumption that during a rapidly evolving civil emergency like this, courts would be largely ineffective at stopping federal overreach.

Though the early stages of the Philadelphia simulation closely match the brutal events citizens in Minneapolis have experienced at the hands of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, the model diverges from reality in one key way: municipal and state officials don’t seem interested in attacking ICE agents anytime soon.

It is a fascinating take on the events occurring today….

How long will the American people tolerate this abuse of government power?

From years ago all the rhetoric about confronting government abuse, you know those fat ass militia twats that were all talk, if this is not what they were going on about what the Hell is it?

I say keep it up do not let this become a standard for us to just stand by and ignore the abuses of Donny and his band of idiotic thugs.

I hope the spirit of 1776 has not been lost.

Are You A Domestic Terrorist?

The most recent use of the term was about the young mother shot and killed by ICE Goons in Minneapolis….she was labeled even before her name was known.

That brings up the question just who is a domestic terrorist?

This is the definition as per a memo from the Orange cadaver we call Donny…

Here is how this administration defines domestic terrorists:

There are common recurrent motivations and indicia uniting this pattern of violent and terroristic activities under the umbrella of self-described “anti-fascism.” These movements portray foundational American principles (e.g., support for law enforcement and border control) as “fascist” to justify and encourage acts of violent revolution. This “anti-fascist” lie has become the organizing rallying cry used by domestic terrorists to wage a violent assault against democratic institutions, constitutional rights, and fundamental American liberties. Common threads animating this violent conduct include anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, and anti-Christianity; support for the overthrow of the United States Government; extremism on migration, race, and gender; and hostility towards those who hold traditional American views on family, religion, and morality.

Cute definition but to me it sounds more like Donny and his ICE Goons than protesters.

So who does that very one sided definition include?

Anyone who suggests Trump, his administration, or his policies are authoritarian. This regime believes they have the right to behave like fascists, but calling them fascists is an act of violence.

Vice President JD Vance, who once called Trump “America’s Hitler,” now says, “If you want to stop political violence, stop telling your supporters that everybody who disagrees with you is a Nazi.”Stephen Miller has repeatedly accused liberals of “incitement” for suggesting that this administration’s policies are authoritarian: Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), he claimed, was engaging in “pure incitement” when she compared ICE to slave patrols; Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) comparing ICE to the modern-day gestapo is “vile anti-American language [that] can only be construed as inciting insurrection and violence;” California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) telling Stephen Colbert that we are living under an authoritarian president “incites violence and terrorism;” Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker (D) calling for mass protest “could be construed as inciting violence.”This is important, because criticism is legal under the First Amendment; inciting violence or insurrection is not. Miller understands this. And he’s trying to broaden the definition of “incitement” wide enough to encompass criticism of this regime.

Journalists and historians have repeatedly observed that Trump uses the language of fascists, despots, and other authoritarians, comparing people he dislikes to insects and vermin and garbage, saying that immigrations are “poisoning the blood of our country,” and arguing “They’re not human; they’re animals.”

Under this memo, observations like these are dangerous ones. It’s not the actions of the authoritarian that are waging “a violent assault against democratic institutions, constitutional rights, and fundamental American liberties;” it’s the people who criticize the authoritarian’s dismantling of democratic institutions, his quashing of constitutional rights, and his evisceration of fundamental American liberties.

Democratic Socialists, anyone who criticizes American capitalism, and any liberal who wants a more robust social welfare state. Accusing liberals of being commies is a conservative tactic that predates Trump by about a century. But Trump and his followers have taken it to a new level.

There are of course actual anti-capitalists in America, and holding that view is their constitutional right. There are also a lot of capitalism critics in America — people who don’t necessarily want to go full Communist, but wouldn’t mind if America were a little more like Denmark, with affordable healthcare and a stronger social safety net.In Trump’s telling, these people are anti-capitalist turncoats. And so are any of his opponents: Those who criticized him for absconding with classified documents he left in a Mar-a-Lago bathroom are “communists” who can’t get away with this, he told supporters. Kamala Harris, he said, was a “communist.”

Last year, Stephen Miller took the podium in the White House press briefing room and went on a truly unhinged rant about “communist woke culture” destroying America. And the broader MAGA right has a deep obsession with “cultural Marxism,” which is basically just a bunch of different progressive ideas — including feminism, anti-racism, and queer theory — that they think are a globalist (read: Jewish) plot to undermine… something. Point being, targeting “anti-capitalists” is very much about targeting anyone who expresses any dissatisfaction with America’s lack of social support or our economic conditions.

Religious minorities and those who criticize right-wing Christians. Not long after he was sworn in to his second term in office, President Trump released a memo on “Eradicating Anti-Christian Bias.” Evidence of this alleged scourge — in a country where every president and the overwhelming majority of national elected officials has been a Christian or at least pretended to be — included the Biden Administration recognizing Transgender Day of Visibility.

This administration’s definition of “anti-Christianity” tars as “anti-Christian” an enormous number of religious Christians — just those who are not part of the fundamentalist white Evangelical sets that largely support Trump.Criticizing religious bigots, or religion itself, is indeed protected speech and expression. But according to this administration, it might also be evidence of domestic terrorism.

Those who might question the legitimacy of Trump’s presidency. Donald Trump was elected fair and square. I don’t like that fact, but he is the legitimate president of the United States. He would not be the legitimate president of the United States, though, if his 2020 attempts to subvert the results of a free and fair election had succeeded.

We don’t yet know what kinds of shenanigans Trump and his team will pull with the upcoming midterms and possibly with the 2028 presidential election, but this seems to be setting the stage to punish anyone who either rightly objects to election meddling, or who does what Trump and his own supporters did in 2020 and questions legitimate election results.

Immigrant rights advocates, racial justice activists, LGBT activists, and feminists. In my view, the most telling and troubling ideologies included on the list of potential domestic terrorism motivators are “extremism on migration, race, and gender.

It is absolutely true that extremism on migration, race, and gender have fueled significant acts of violence and terror in the United States: the Tree of Life synagogue massacre at the hands of a virulent anti-Semite who believed Jews were bringing migrants in to take over America; the Mother Emanuel AME massacre in which white supremacist Dylann Roof murdered nine Black churchgoers; the Buffalo, NY grocery store mass shooting in which a different white supremacist murdered 10 Black people; the Isla Vista killings carried out by a misogynist incel; the thousands of violent attacks on abortion clinics, including several murders, carried out by people (mostly men) who oppose women’s rights.A great many acts of domestic terrorism have been carried out by people with extremist views on migration, race, and gender. But almost all of those terrorists held right-wing views on those issues.

This administration is instead claiming that it’s people who support immigrants’ rights, advocate for racial justice, and believe in gender equality who are the potential terrorists — and it’s these groups the Trump administration is watching and investigating.

Feminists. Sure, feminists may have been captured in the above, but Trump singles them out for good measure, branding as potential terrorists those who demonstrate “hostility towards those who hold traditional American views on family, religion, and morality.”

This is, of course, shockingly ahistorical: Traditionally, “American views on family, religion, and morality” have never been monolithic. The founders argued about all three quite a bit, especially religion and morality. The American family has never been perfectly nuclear (when the Heritage Foundation trumpets the number of children begat by the Founding Fathers in its proposal to save America by saving the family, one wonders if they’re counting the children born to enslaved women who were impregnated by the men who had total control over their lives and bodies and routinely raped them).

Looks like Twitter is trying to head off any crackdown by the Biden admin by permanently shutting down some of the hate users….like Trump.

But they also have suspended the accounts of some of the Saudi dissidents….

Twitter has removed the blue verified badge from the accounts of several Saudi political prisoners, including two prominent clerics who were detained in a crackdown against reformists, activists and government critics.

Among those whose verification label has been removed are Ali al-Omary and Awad al-Qarni, two senior religious figures who have been jailed since 2017. They were seized during a purge that followed Mohammed bin Salman‘s rise to the position of crown prince.

Similarly, the accounts of the Saudi philanthropist Khaled al-Mohawesh and journalist Khaled al-Alkami, also jailed in the 2017 purge, had their blue tick removed, according to the advocacy Twitter account Prisoners of Conscience. It added that the account of economist Essam el-Zamil, another political prisoner, has been suspended. He tweeted under the handle @Essamz.

Middle East Eye has contacted Twitter for comment but has not received a response by the time of publication.

I wonder how much that cost the Saudi royals?

And it makes me think of what is Twitter doing.

Seems the reforms in KSA does not mean the right to dissent…..

Patriots Left Out

We have just celebrated the call to arms with the Declaration of Independence….the document that set in motion the birth of the United States of America.

Sadly there is much about the beginning of our great nation that is seldom taught to our young……and I try to rectify that oversight.

In the beginning there was the word……

Once the document was written by Jefferson (a point that I dispute) it was signed by the reps at the Congress that ordered the document….but there are a couple of names that are missing from this historic document…Thomas Paine whose ideas were the very basis of the DoI…… https://lobotero.com/2010/07/04/thomas-paine-the-father-of-the-u-s-of-a/ ……and John Dickinson from Pennsylvania who refused to sign the document…and yes I said REFUSED.

In the decade before the American colonies declared independence, no patriot enjoyed greater renown than John Dickinson. In 1765 he helped lead opposition to the Stamp Act, Britain’s first effort to get colonists to cover part of the mounting cost of empire through taxes on paper and printed materials. Then, after Parliament rescinded the Stamp Act but levied a new set of taxes on paint, paper, lead and tea with the Townshend Duties of 1767, Dickinson galvanized colonial resistance by penning Letters From a Pennsylvania Farmer, a series of impassioned broadsides widely read on both sides of the Atlantic. He even set his political sentiments to music, borrowing the melody from a popular Royal Navy chantey for his stirring “Liberty Song,” which included the refrain: “Not as slaves, but as freemen our money we’ll give.”

Yet on July 1, 1776, as his colleagues in the Continental Congress prepared to declare independence from Britain, Dickinson offered a resounding dissent. Deathly pale and thin as a rail, the celebrated Pennsylvania Farmer chided his fellow delegates for daring to “brave the storm in a skiff made of paper.” He argued that France and Spain might be tempted to attack rather than support an independent American nation. He also noted that many differences among the colonies had yet to be resolved and could lead to civil war. When Congress adopted a nearly unanimous resolution the next day to sever ties with Britain, Dickinson abstained from the vote, knowing full well that he had delivered “the finishing Blow to my once too great, and my Integrity considered, now too diminish’d Popularity.”

Closing Thought–11Jul19

Back in my younger days I was at odds with the leadership of my party (It was not the Democratic Party, FYI)….it seems they did not appreciate my outspoken criticisms and told me to hold my tongue and keep any disagreement private…..I gave them the finger and resigned from the party for when dealing with the people there should never be any secrets after all we are their representatives (at least that is what I thought).

I read something that made me wax nostalgic…..

U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday urged unity among fellow Democrats in the face of battles over the direction of the party and warned members to ditch Twitter and keep their disagreements private.

“You got a complaint? You come and talk to me about it. But do not tweet about our members and expect us to think that that is just OK,” Pelosi said during a closed meeting of House Democrats, according to a source who was in the room.

It was not clear if Pelosi, the top elected U.S. Democrat, was aiming her remarks at a specific lawmaker’s tweet or issuing a general warning about using social media, the favourite means of communication for Republican President Donald Trump.

https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-usa-congress-pelosi/u-s-house-speaker-pelosi-tells-her-democrats-to-kill-the-tweets-idUKKCN1U52N7

Looks like the corporations are winning again…..Pelosi is just protecting the collaborators not looking for a future for the country just the corporate profits….

https://www.commondreams.org/views/2019/07/09/aoc-wants-change-world-through-action-nancy-pelosi-wants-do-it-through-pithy

More on this …..

https://www.commondreams.org/news/2019/07/10/pelosi-after-railing-against-aoc-and-others-nyt-interview-tells-critics-caucus-not

Plus Pelosi knows how influential Twitter and social media can be and that is a stake in the heart of corporate America.

The more they champion change the more things remain the same.  Corporations want the status quo….for they are making obscene profits and any progress will lessen that and they will not stand for it…..ergo Pelosi’s dictum.

Let’s not pretend this is about unity….it is about control….and the corporations are in control.

A Coup Of A Different Color?

I have been writing and speaking about the possibility of a coup happening in Foggy Bottom.  Mostly it is a “what if” scenario.  Students find it a fascinating subject and seem to devour every word during the speech.

At first I was concerned about a possible military coup simply because of the amount of generals that Trump has placing in key positions….I even wrote a bit on this possibility….

A couple of my closing thoughts posts were on this subject.

Source: Closing Thought–13Jan17 – In Saner Thought

Source: Closing Thought–07Mar17 – In Saner Thought

Then I started thinking that all the problems that Trump is having with leaks in his administration I have changed my thinking into a “soft coup”….meaning that it is a takeover of the government without the use of violence and destruction…the Constitution can be used in this coup…the 25th amendment……

The answer lies in Section 4 of the 25th Amendment to the Constitution.

The amendment states that if, for whatever reason, the vice president and a majority of sitting Cabinet secretaries decide that the president is “unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office,” they can simply put that down in writing and send it to two people — the speaker of the House and the Senate’s president pro tem.

The site Vox took a look at this type of coup……

Source: The 25th Amendment, explained: how a president can be declared unfit to serve – Vox

With all the leaks and the reports of conflict of interests and the ranting, mindless ranting and of course the leaks all seem to be leading down a path for the use of the Constitution.

The American Conservative is also looking into this possibility…..

We Americans have long regarded coups as undesirable political turmoil afflicting nations in Africa, Asia and Latin America in which governments are changed by force rather than through the ballot box. During the past several weeks, political commentators are beginning to use the word when describing the series of events that began last summer with the claim that Russia was somehow interfering in our national election on behalf of one candidate. To be sure, no one expects the country’s armed forces to march on the White House and force Donald Trump out, but some commentators are suggesting that a political environment is deliberately being created that will either make it impossible for Trump to govern or, if the pieces fall together nicely, will provide grounds for impeachment. As those who might be promoting that kind of regime change are civilians who will not be resorting to armed insurrection, it might be most correct to refer to the possible coup as “soft” or even “stealth.” Conservative radio host and author Mark Levin refers to it as a “silent coup.”

Source: A Soft Coup, or Preserving Our Democracy? | The American Conservative

Has anyone heard of Wikileaks?  Of course you have it has been in the news for years and now its founder is writing about a soft coup by Mike Pence…..

Over the weekend we noted chatter that some saw Mike Pence as “the Deep State’s insurance policy,” and now, judging by tweets from Wikileaks’ Julian Assange, that may well be the Clinton/Intelligence Officials plan…

Source: Assange Claims Hillary, Intel Officials “Quietly Pushing A Pence Takeover” | Zero Hedge

I know….I know….all this sounds like some sort of conspiracy theory and it is in a manner….but there are too many analyst and pundits that are starting to think along these lines to not take it a bit more seriously.

Just keep an eye on the upcoming Congressional hearings and investigations…..those could be very telling of something in the wind…..and the Constitution will make it a bit more justified sounding.

Keep in mind that DC is a town full of predators and predators are always looking for a vulnerability…..even the mighty will become prey.

“There’s battle lines being drawn
Nobody’s right if everybody’s wrong
Young people speaking their minds
Getting so much resistance from behind

I think it’s time we stop, hey, what’s that sound
Everybody look what’s going down

What a field-day for the heat
A thousand people in the street
Singing songs and carrying signs
Mostly say, hooray for our side

We all have seen the massive protests in the last couple of months….of course the “Ignorati” would have us believe that all these protesters are being paid and that they all are violent…..silly but what can you expect from people with shoe size and IQ the same?
Now that the Right has a new puppet master all this protesting will come to an end……right?

A new report from the Department of Homeland Security’s intelligence wing has likened certain types of political protests to “domestic terrorism,” and specifically outlined anger at President Donald Trump’s election as a driving force.

The document, obtained by the Intercept, was prepared by the North Carolina Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ISAAC) and DHS’s Office of Intelligence & Analysis (I&A) with a particular focus on North Carolina. The document comes as Republicans in at least 18 different states have proposed anti-protest bills that seek to criminalize protesters engaging in property destruction and blocking highways, among other forms of protest.

Source: Homeland Security report likens anti-Trump protests to ‘domestic terrorist violence’

This should come as NO surprise after all the Tweets and lip service the Master has given on this subject that his DHS would label this as “terrorism”….

Source: Anti-Trump Riots are Domestic Terrorism | MediaBent

I was wondering how long it would take for the state GOPs to flex their little brains….when they would start trying to ban ALL protests….did not have to wait too long…….

Georgia has become the latest state to take up legislation seemingly designed to have a chilling effect on First Amendment rights. Georgia’s State Senate passed SB1 earlier this month and the bill is now before the lower house of the state’s General Assembly. It goes further than many of the other so-called ‘anti-protest bills’ introduced in other states, by expanding the legal definition of domestic terrorism and creating a state-level Department of Homeland Security with surveillance and intelligence sharing capabilities.
This from the party that wraps itself in the Constitution every chance that get…..I believe that is a part of that document that says protests are okay…..but that never stopped the GOP from ignoring it when it suits their aims.

Where Have All The Protestors Gone?

Yesterday was the most boring day I have experienced in years…..news wise that is……enough already with Brady’s Balls!

Seeing the protests recently in the death of man in police custody in Baltimore started me thinking about my youth and the protests that I participated in…….like why is there not more concern on America’s path to endless war?  Where is the anti-war protests?

Seeing my fellow Americans in the streets protesting makes my heart smile……..we are protesting the Wall Street thieves……we are protesting for social justice………we are making a stand for civil rights…..again……but where is the anti-war protests?

There is a sad state of affairs here in the US….we are at war and NO one cares……not the public…..not the media…..not any politician……it will not become important until bodies start coming home and the media has something they can fixate upon…….then only then will a snowstorm in winter become a non-starter…..

What has happened to the US anti-war movement?  I have asked this question many times and in posts on IST…….we have a decades long war being fought by Americans and yet there is NO substantial protests…….yes we have a anti-war movement….but it has been marginalized…..why?

The question has been asked and now there is a response……
