This is just for fun….but I would like to see the comments so keep ’em coming.
My post today about splitting up the country got a lot of attention and comments….I want to thank everyone for that…..I saw this in my news feed and thought that it might add to the conversation from earlier today.
Just a little something to think about.

Whatcha you guys think?

That’s an interesting map. But I still think that any attempted division of America is impossible now, due to geography. It is no longer 1861, when the divisions were very clear, and ‘manageable’. There could be a civil war of course, but on a local level. And the outcome would depend on which side the regular military decided to come in on.
As I always say, check out ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ for a possible American future. Everyone should read that, or watch the TV series.
Best wishes, Pete.
That map would never fly. Dear lord. Can you see the outrage when a state disappears and turns into a blob? We do love us some borders.
Just wanted to give a look at what people were thinking even back 50 years ago…..chuq
I actually like Pearcy’s map. It makes more sense than what we ended up with because the 38 states look more like regionally defined provinces than our 50 politically motivated carve-outs.
But, this isn’t 1973. As I alluded to with my comment to your previous post, The infrastructural complexity of today’s United States would be many times more difficult for a separation into two nations. On top of that, the political situation today is so fragile and volatile that it would preclude even the consideration of such a plan. That’s a shame too because I’m intrigued by it.
Robert I found the map interesting…..and wanted to see what others thought…..chuq
Why not try it? We seem to have been fascinated with all manner of experimentation in the last few years including taking a run at authoritarianism which is still in progress….
It would be interesting but can you imagine the clusterfuck the reorganization would be….more chaotic than a Donny rally. chguq
