Display Your Star

Remember in the dark days of Germany when jews had to wear the star of david….well it seems some strange GOPer has a similar idea.

There are many good reasons why Republicans are so eager to introduce voter ID laws, and it’s not because they’re on a moral crusade to preserve the integrity of democracy. In fact, quite the opposite.

Voter ID requirements have been repeatedly found to disproportionately affect minorities and those on limited or no incomes. These are voters considered more likely to vote Democrat, so laws requiring Americans to bring ID to the polls are a way for Republicans to reduce their opponents’ vote.

On top of that, there’s practically no evidence to support a wave of voter fraud in the first place. Bear in mind that Trump has spent years insisting that the 2020 election was stolen, and multiple agencies and MAGA devotees have devoted time and money to poring over every detail. The result?

Now, in disquieting news, South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds has told Fox News that Americans will be required to display a “little yellow star” to be able to cast a vote:

They use the cover lie that they are protecting the sanctity of voting and preventing all the voter fraud from before.

This is for all those MAGA mental  midgets that believe in the voter fraud scam…..this from the person the Donny hired….

President Donald Trump has called on the federal government to “nationalize the voting” across the United States, baselessly claiming that major cities in swing states are conducting fraudulent elections. But one expert who Trump once hired to find proof of voter fraud says it’s almost nonexistent.

In a Wednesday interview on CNN, data specialist Ken Block said Trump’s rationale to have the federal government assume control of elections didn’t hold water. He also said the Trump administration’s recent raid of an election facility in Fulton County, Georgia harkened back to his prior work with the Trump 2020 campaign.

“The Trump campaign in 2020 hired me to look for evidence of voter fraud. And they asked me to review about 20 different claims of voter fraud that came into the campaign from everywhere around the world,” Block said. “Apparently, every one of the 20 claims they asked me to evaluate, I was able to show that they were false. And we did find small amounts of voter fraud, but never did we find enough voter fraud to have been able to change the outcome of any of the swing state elections in 2020.”

Block went on to say that despite Trump’s insistence that there was election fraud in Georgia in 2020, no evidence has ever surfaced proving him correct. He reminded viewers that some Trump associates – like former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani — were never able to substantiate any of their claims in court when asked to prove supposed fraud in the Peach State.

  1. 1. person can walk into any rep or dem headquarters and express that want to vote. They will jump to help get proper ID verification and register you to vote.
    2. Homeless can get an ID from shelter, Salvation Army, and any VA hospital (if a vet)3. The City of Greensboro gives vets a free picture ID as vet and citizen of Guilford County. That one give 10-20 % discount at most venders. 4. Many shelters will allow you to list the facility as your address to receive mail, another form of ID. 5. Churches, colleges and schools help peolple get ID. 6. If on any welfare program the agency will get you set up with ID. 7. An employer will help.8. Hosp will give ID papers if your child born there to certify parenthood. 8. Got an arrest record ? You in file forever and will have ID proof provided. No ID denial, unavailabity or disenfranchisement claim is legitimate. All kinds of entities are there to help. There are many ways to get lower level ID’s, an accumulation of such can lead to proof to get an actual ID. Almost every country that has voting require an ID to vote.

    1. I think a lot of this hoo hah about needing ‘approved” ID and several sheets of paper to prove you are who you are and where you were born, yadda yadda, is a way of scaring a LOT of people away from voting at all. And that, I suggest, is illegal. ‘oh you can’t vote, you don’t look American. Where is your proof?” I mean, really…
In the end, only the ‘approved’ Republicans will be accepted.
He’s scared, and he’s trying to stack the shelves in his favor. Frankly I don’t see him living long enough to do it, but still..
Granted, most of us can get papers from the hospital, the dentist, our mother, etc. but what about people who were born elsewhere and in a foreign country?
and the hospital burned down there, 40 years ago…

    2. What a wonderful list. You already show ID to register. It is that simple why confuse the Hell out of people if you want them to vote? chuq

  2. We have voter I.D. in the UK, and there are numerous forms of acceptable I.D. We also have postal voting for those unable to get to polling stations, or if they are going to be out of the country at the time of the election. The truth is that voter fraud here was negligible before this was introduced, with a published figure of fraudulent voting or duplicate voting at only 194 people for the whole country. That was insignificant, and could not have affected any electoral outcomes. Yet still they brought it in. The only reason for that can be monitoring and surveillance, where they can actually tell how individuals voted, based on a reference number printed on the ballot form that you have to look carefully to see is there. So much for anonymous voting.
    Best wishes, Pete.
