FLASH! You Are Screwed!

As soon as Donny wiggled his way into the WH and announced his dumb ass idea of tariffs I have been trying to get people to see that the only loser in them are the consumers.

After his election and the talk about tariffs I had to make my feelings known…

The Real Cost Of Trump Tariffs

Well all the analysis has proven my predictions too be spot on…..

Americans, not overseas sellers, are paying almost all of President Trump’s tariff increases, according to a new analysis from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. The report finds that roughly 90% of the cost of the administration’s import duties is falling on US consumers and businesses, undercutting Trump’s frequent claim that foreign exporters are footing the bill, Reuters reports. From January through August 2025, Americans absorbed 94% of the tariff burden, the Fed economists estimate; that share slipped to 92% in September and October and 86% in November, though it remained overwhelmingly domestic.

The findings align with a separate assessment from the Congressional Budget Office, which said higher tariffs raise the price of imported goods, thereby lifting costs for American households and companies. The CBO estimates that foreign exporters are covering only about 5% of the tariff tab. In the near term, it says, US businesses are likely to eat around 30% through lower profit margins, while passing the remaining 70% on to consumers through higher prices. A study released last month by a research institute in Germany produced similar findings, putting the share paid by US consumers and importers around 96%.

Tariffs have been a central element of Trump’s economic strategy, deployed to generate revenue, pressure trading partners, and encourage manufacturers to move production back to the US, per Reuters. The data shows that foreign suppliers sometimes cut prices in response to tariffs, per the New York Times, but that it’s a less common reaction. In an op-ed published in the Wall Street Journal on Jan. 30, Trump said, “the data shows that the burden, or ‘incidence,’ of the tariffs has fallen overwhelmingly on foreign producers and middlemen, including large corporations that are not from the US.”

I cannot understand the support these disasters have even today with all the rising prices…..it does not bother them only thing they seem to care about is that brown skin people are been attacked.

There is a name for that…..

  1. Weak people look for who they perceive to be strong leaders. It makes them feel protected, apparently, and eases their inner sense of cowardice. If that ends up costing them money and affecting their health and their lifestyles, they think it is worth the sacrifice. That is the essence of being in a cult.
    Best wishes, Pete.

      1. I would say, not weak, but ill-educated, and they are so wrapped up in their own day-to-day business they can hardly be bothered with the comings and goings of Presidents and such. We have been taught to trust people in power, but not how to ‘read’ them. And as long as they behave in public, it’s fine.
But then you get one who pulls up the carpets and sets fire to the ancient drapes, and we’re so used to respecting authority that we just don’t know how to react to it. It feels like we’re spitting on the Pope.

  2. Here’s the thing with “tiny hands”, he’s a one trick pony. He doesn’t have a clue as to how to negotiate anything, the only thing he has in his bag of tricks when it comes to negotiating is threatening tariffs. Period. A negotiator sits down and says let’s talk about this and see how we can come together with a plan to solve this problem. Him? Either do what I say or I’ll put 150% tariffs on your products. And even worse, he’s so fecking petty about it! Just the other day he apparently pushed tariffs up to 39% on Switzerland for no reason other than that he didn’t like how it’s leader talked to him on the phone. That’s not the behavior of a world leader. That’s the behavior of a petty, bitter, stupid old man who shouldn’t be allowed out in public.

    1. Addendum: I’ve been re-watching the Father Ted series and I’ve decided to adopt the word “feck” to replace the version with the “u” in it so I can save that word for more appropriate situations. The problem with the increasingly casual use of the f-word in conversation is that when something *really* bad happens, like dropping a brick on your toe or something, and you start to reach for a word that truly expresses your displeasure with the situation, well, if you’ve been using it in casual conversation now you got nothing to adequately express your feelings. You want to say something like “Holy fuck that hurts!” but because the word has become normalized, so to speak, it no longer expresses your extreme irritation with the situation and you have to resort to something like “Oh poopy”? Just doesn’t work. So use feck. Save the fucks for really bad situations. So feck him. And the horse he road in on.

    2. That’s the behavior of a petty, bitter, stupid old man … …. I think perhaps you may have meant spoiled rotten overgrown child. Yes?
