Oh Great Another Billionaire Candidate

I know it is a bit early too discuss the upcoming general election in 2028 but there are some names that are being batted around like Newsom….and now the brains behind Clinton in 1992 election has come out with his chose for a candidate….

James Carville’s top pick to become the Democratic nominee in 2028 may come as a surprise: Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker. In an appearance on Raymond Arroyo’s Fox News show, the Democratic strategist said the billionaire governor has two big selling points: He’s a prodigious fundraiser, and he’s well-liked in the Black community. “If I had to say one guy—I really don’t know him, very superficially—but if I were betting the Kentucky Derby and I saw this 12-to-1 horse and I said, ‘I want to get a prize,’ I’d take JB Pritzker,” Carville said, per HuffPost.

Kamala Harris? She has “no chance,” says Carville. “No Democrat wants anything to do with anybody that had anything to do with 2024.” Carville thought Rahm Emanuel, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, and Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro can make strong runs, but none match Pritzker’s overall appeal in his view. “He’s bigger than life,” says Carville. “He’s worth $3 billion and won a million and a half dollars shooting craps and blackjack in Las Vegas. That makes people like him.” Early polling has Harris in first place, followed by Newsom, former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, but Carville calls such polls “meaningless” at this point.

I would expect Carville to push a billionaire for he was instrumental in the Clinton and turning the DNC into a corporate stooge.

He is about the cash not the person.

Meaningless?  Same can be said for his push for yet another billionaire to rape the country….a precedent has been set by Donny and I bet it will carry forth no matter who gets the nod in 2028.

Will the voter be fooled by this?  My guess is they will for they are not the sharpest pencils in the box….if they are then nothing will change just a continuation of rule by the rich.

I know it is early and a lot can happen between now and November of 2028 but for now it is not looking good for the people of those country.

Any thoughts?

  1. Doesn’t matter who runs…. Trump is going to win– hands down. Mark my words.

  2. It is certainly not too early to be talking about this. In fact the Dems should have been seriously looking for a viable candidate as soon as the election was over and already starting to push that candidate into a favorable position. Unfortunately at the moment they pretty much have no one.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Buttigieg wouldn’t have chance in hell and shouldn’t even be part of the discussion. An outspoken, left wing woman of color or a gay man? In the United States? I hate to have to say this but I need to be honest and blunt here. Homophobia, racism and sexism is so deeply ingrained in this culture at the moment that I don’t think either would have a chance.

Pritzker? Maybe? He’d be more palatable certainly. But at the moment, no matter how much I may hate the man, Newsom seems to be about the only viable candidate the dems have at the moment. But Newsom has a lot of baggage. He’s a hypocrite, is easily influenced by whoever has the largest checkbook to fund his campaign coffers and from what I hear from my friends and relatives in California, there could be some serious ethical issues going on behind the scenes with him that the GOP could hammer him on.

Basically at this point the Dems don’t really have anyone in a strong enough position to go after the presidency. A lot is going to depend on who the GOP push forward as their candidate. If it’s Vance, then I’d think the Dems have a chance because Vance has a reputation of being a sniveling little weasel even within the GOP and MAGA crowd and they loathe the little lying sack of manure. He’s even more two faced and willing to stab friends in the back than Trump is from what I’ve been hearing. The hardcore GOP would vote for him but independents and moderates? I don’t think so.

    1. I’d love to see Kamala Harris as President, but I agree, she has two strikes against her (maybe three): she’s young, she’s black, she’s female. And she would be an open target for anyone with a gun, sad to say, but true. This is almost the only country in the world who has never had a woman leader, ever, and even at that there are people in almost every country who think women should be wimmin and leave the governing to the big strong males.
at this point my biggest concern is Trump rolling back the “two term” rule and if he survives could spend yet another four years waddling about and destroying public property…

      1. I’d love to see Harris in there as well. She’s damned smart and probably one of the few ethical politicians we have. Well, ethical for a politician, that is.

Trump really scares me at this point. His comments about taking over the elections systems in democratically controlled states and his continuous lying about the election he lost should scare everyone, frankly. Especially since thanks to ICE Barbie, Hogsbreath, etc. he pretty much has direct control of not only federal law enforcement but the military as well. I have friends who claim all of this, the ICE violence, arresting reporters, blackmailing and extorting the media, is leading up to him declaring martial law right before the election and canceling the elections entirely or taking direct control of the election apparatus and making sure only his preferred candidates win.

    2. I agree the hunt should have been on as soon as they lost agree with you on Newsom I do not trust him….and I do not want another billionaire in the hot seat……..like you say there is lots of time for this to play out….and I am not confident we will have the best candidate. chuq

  3. That guy has enough money to buy the nomination, but I am still wondering if there will actually be another presidential election in your country, chuq.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  4. Carville is just another ancient voice trying to stay “in the game” – time for us to move away from his backwards thinking….

  5. NO to Kamala. She lost for a reason and that reason has not changed. Personally, I have nothing against her, but this nation is simply not ready.

I think Newsom will give other candidates a run for their money. I don’t particularly LIKE him, but he’s stood up to Trump and he’s made a name for himself beyond California.

As for Carville and his recommendation? I tend to agree with johnrieber. He’s past history.

Most of all, I fear Pete’s prophetic comment may come true.

    1. Nan I have a post in-process about this subject…..I do not trust Newsom…he is pretty but is that enough? Carville is a dinosaur that help ruin the Democratic Party….he has nothing of interest for me. chuq

    1. We will never know…..Americans think that the wealthy have all the answers….well they do but they do not include them. chuq
