Why Greenland?

That is a question for the ages.

People know that I follow international relations closely and have been asking me why Greenland is so important to Donny.

I wish I had an adequate answer for them but Donny’s positions have no rhyme or reason, at least to me.

Then I read something this morning that sums it all up pretty much if you think about it….

President Trump complained about getting overlooked for a Nobel Peace Prize in a new letter to Norway’s prime minister—and tied it to his wish to control Greenland:

  • “Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace, although it will always be predominant, but can now think about what is good and proper for the United States of America,” Trump wrote to Norway Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere, reports Reuters.

In a statement, Stoere said he has reminded Trump multiple times that Norway’s government has no sway over the independent Norwegian Nobel Committee, per the Guardian. The letter came after Stoere and Finnish President Alexander Stubb criticized Trump’s plan to impose tariffs on European nations who won’t back the US plan to take control of Greenland from Denmark. On that front, Trump further pressed his case:

  • “Denmark cannot protect that land from Russia or China, and why do they have a ‘right of ownership’ anyway?” asked Trump. “There are no written documents, it’s only that a boat landed there hundreds of years ago, but we had boats landing there, also.” He added that the world “is not secure unless we have Complete and Total Control of Greenland.”
  • Staffers for the US National Security Council have forwarded the letter to European ambassadors, reports Nick Schifrin of PBS. As for the peace prize, Trump has made no secret of his wish to receive the peace prize—and he accepted a second-hand one last week from Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado.

This is retaliation for a prize snub and an infantile reason.

So he will punish Norway by stealing land from Denmark…..think about that bit of stupidity (let me know if I need to explain that statement)

He is still butt hurt because nobody will give him a prize he does not deserve, is that about it?

Besides if the US takes Greenland it will be a money sucking pit that we will regret for an eternity.

Damn!  This douche bag is so pathetic and juvenile that it is almost unbelievable….

And people voted for him….not saying about their mental state is itA?

  1. Once the ice melts. (could be 30-50 years at least) they will have access to mining for precious minerals, rare earth rocks, and possibly oil. It’s all about money in the near future, and Trump will be long dead by then. So he must be acting on behalf of his donors from industry and the MIC. Even then, setting up the mining infrastructure might take another decade.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. For those who drink the kool-aid, some facts: we have military bases in Greenland. We closed most if not all, but Greenland has welcomed us to re-deploy there. They are an Ally. Russia is NOT. This President has chosen Greenland in order to take the focus off the Epstein files, which show that the name Donald J. Trump shows up more times than any other individual. There is no massive untapped wealth in Greenland. WE have sacrificed our soldiers to defend countries who are invaded by hostile forces, as Russia most recently did with Ukraine. Now this President wants to invade a country that is an ally to us. Understand these are facts. He has aligned with Russia to become a hostile, aggressive country eager to destroy the world. Your life is NOT improve if he is successful at this.

    1. No massive untapped wealth ? Skeptics said same thing about Alaska 1860’s. “Seward’s Folly”. Yes, Greenland already a US ally and a very loyal and cooperative one as well but absolutrly unable to defend itself. Denmark was a great Viking power that endlessly tormented England some years back but I don’t think there’s any Vikings there any more.

  3. Greensland important because: 1. Russian nuke attack
will pass over Greenland [alert. stop, respond], 2. monitor sea lane bottlenecks Britian-Ireland-Iceland-Greenland – Canada [ships and subs], 3. natural resources Greenland esp w/global warming, treasure chest of super power resource needs, 4. if we don’r own Greenland , Russia and China will certainly move in that direction , 5. national defense/survival of US depends on earth geographic reach, 6. endless supply ice cubes for alcoholic drinks, 7. current Europe/ Greenland military strength about 2 dozen troops.

    1. Carl….we can get all the security we want through diplomacy I would think the ‘master deal maker’ would think of that. chuq

    2. I continue to be staggered at how an apparently intelligent man like you can watch Trump and his cronies in action yet still carry on praising him and supporting him. It makes me sad to see that, it really does.

      1. Pete: Good morning sir: In most cases I see most Trump criticisms as irritants of little or no consequence usually based upon mere pure Trum hate. 15 million entered by non enforcement of immigration law by Biden and democrats without least bit of vetting esp criminal records check, terrorists list check, no heath records and not even a verifiable birth certificate ! This is the most dangerous threat to the securrity of the US in history . A dozen sanctuary states and 1,200 santuary cities in complete defiance of and nullification of all federal law and violent assualts on law enforcement – well that’s what I focus on . I will admit Trump can be a very obnoxious prick but US has no one else to manage against Russia and China and for me nothing else is important.
