The Disuniting States Of America

There has been lots of talk lately about the problems that the GOP is having……should they stand with Trump or should they try and salvage the party from collapse…..

After the last election the GOP did an autopsy on the party……and they did not take their own advice from the findings…..and because they were so arrogant the party is suffering badly in this election……

The Federalist’s Ben Domenech says if Trump loses, don’t look for major changes at the top of the GOP.

Of course some are blaming Trump for all the problems the party is suffering….but to me Mr. Trump is a creation that they made possible because they would not do the things necessary to prolong the life of the GOP……

And yet there are those that are still in denial…..there are those that still scratch their heads and wonder where the party went wrong……

The 2016 election campaign has left the victims of global capitalism behind.

On one side is Hillary Clinton, the quintessential representative of the financial and political elites, who was temporarily forced into adopting a progressive populist message by her primary opponent, Bernie Sanders.  On the other side, there is Donald Trump; a narcissistic con man who was born on third base and insists he hit a home run.  By the dictionary definition, I believe Mr. Trump is a sociopath, having no moral judgment, and no ability to empathize or put events into perspective.  Mr. Trump’s condition is serious, however, I don’t think it is rare.

In fact, Mr. Trump’s life of dubious financial dealings is a metaphor for how our unregulated capitalist system has evolved.  Success is only measured in terms of accumulated wealth.  Executives of large companies are compensated based solely on short-term returns to investors, resulting in cutthroat financial dealings and accounting gamesmanship.  Decisions are made in remote boardrooms with no consideration of their social impact.

The only question to ask is……will a new GOP do what is necessary to save their party?  Or will it just continue down the road to decline?

My guess is with the election results….it could be a huge slap in the face.

  1. The traditional GOP has long since disappeared from The American Scene and what we have now is nothing more than a type and shadow of what The Party of God was intended to be and what it has been in our glorious past. If such GOP greats as Reagan were to return they would be laughed at if they even tried to run for office … It is time for America to stop placing their confidence in the counterfeit GOP now squatting comfortably on the taxpayer dime in Washington and start raising hell about getting it replaced with something that reflects clear, concise, noble and univeresally-acceptable and acknowledged principles of Conservatism …. like it once was … like it can be again …like it must be if America is ever to rise from the doldrumic ashes into which she has been sinking ever since the advent of Neoconism.

      1. Crony capitalism is all our future has to look forward to…for the people will not step forward and do what is necessary.

      2. Of coursew that made me think of a post along that line….oh well keeps me from becoming a serial killer…LOL

  2. I’m going to be lazy, and refer your readers to my response to the post just before this one, which pretty well covers this issue, as well, since it is essentially the same one…

Ah, hell. Here is the relevant part; just use it for this, too…

“Those who live for profit and the power it brings them over others see no advantage to bringing it (conflict/war) to an end, so, it won’t happen, until the general run of people no longer buys into their bullshit… and, that, unfortunately, never has, and never will happen, for people are too invested in their own fantasies of specialness, for being born wherever they were born, or believing in one of the many choices for biggest imaginary friend…

As long as religion and nationalism exist, people, by their nature, will make war, for they will kill at the drop of a cliche to protect the delusions held by their fragile egos, which do not like to admit being wrong, or to look too closely at what is real….”

GOP, Democrats, Independents, all are the same; power mongers vying for the top sociopath position. Trump is a symptom, that’s all. Hillary is a mirror image of insanity.

If you buy into nationalism, or religion, at all, you will live a life filled with conflict, for other people are just the same… but, different.
