Scott Walker Wants To Run The Country. Here Is How He Ran Wisconsin. | ThinkProgress

Poor Scott Walker……he chose the wrong day to come out…….his day for massive coverage of his announcement to seek the nomination has been crapped all over by the Iran nuke deal…….poor Scott.

But of course Walker like all other governors that run for national office use his time in the state as a experience in government…….they think they can govern………. they tell us they can run the country……..NOT LIKELY!

We have heard how he fought the unions and won, his success on voting elimination, his defunding of planned parenthood etc….the problem is that does not help explain how he did for the economy or the people of his state…….

So to help Poor Scott out I have found such an article….this is how he ran his state……

Iran Deal: What Now?

In case anyone is interested…..today Is Bastille Day.

I wrote about the deal as I heard about it…..about 0354 my time…….and since the announcement of the deal I have heard lots of people coming out in favor of it and even some normally rational individuals that are sarcastic about the deal…….and during that time not many of them knew what the deal was all about other that it was Iran…..and Iran bad in their tiny minds…….

I do not object to people bitching about something from one side or the other……but to bitch about something because someone said it is bad/good is where my problem lies…….

So let me make it easy for you…..if you want to write about the deal then maybe a few facts will help you decide which direction to write…….

Here is the deal………..as of this morning………

After 18 days of intense and often fractious negotiation—not to mention 20 months of “tortuous talks,” as CNN puts it—world powers and Iran have today struck a landmark deal to curb Iran’s nuclear program in exchange for billions of dollars in relief from international sanctions—an agreement designed to avert the threat of a nuclear-armed Iran and another US military intervention in the Muslim world. What you need to know about the 159-page Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, a deal that President Obama this morning emphasized “is not built on trust. It is built on verification”:

  • Iran will get rid of 98% of its stockpile of low-enriched uranium, to a level of no more than about 660 pounds, for 15 years. That’ll happen by diluting its stockpile or shipping it out of Iran, per the Guardian. Obama today explained that its current stockpile could fuel 10 nuclear weapons; under the new limitation, Iran would have a fraction of what would be required for a single weapon.
  • It will “remove two-thirds of its installed centrifuges and store them under constant international supervision,” per Obama.
  • The affect of the aforementioned stipulations, per the New York Times “the limits … would extend, to one year, the amount of time necessary for Iran to produce enough weapons-grade material for a single bomb if it should abandon the accord.”
  • The relief Iran will see once the International Atomic Energy Agency has confirmed the country is beginning to take the agreed-upon steps: a lifting of international sanctions related to finance, oil, shipping, and more (one line references the importation into the US of Iranian-origin carpets, pistachios, and caviar). An arms embargo will also be lifted in future years. “All these sanctions will snap back into place” if Iran violates the deal, per Obama.
  • IAEA inspectors “will be able to access any suspicious location,” per Obama. The Guardian explains that Iran can object to an IAEA request to inspect a location where undeclared nuclear activity is allegedly happening, but a multinational commission can, through a majority vote, override that.
  • Speaking of votes, Obama warned that he “will veto any legislation [from Congress] that prevents the successful implementation of this deal. … No deal means a greater chance of more war in the Middle East.”

As I understand the deal today…..I do not see much in a downside for the US.  But that will not stop Israel and their incessant predicting they will have a bomb in 6 months…..or was it 2 years…..no I think it was 5 years……..standing behind Israel is the Saudis and their complaints that Iran cannot be trusted……..but their concern is a religious paranoia not a bomb so much…….

All in all…..I would say a descent deal……we will have to see how the Right wing hawks will try to dick it all up……..and that will be the the real story here.

BTW…..Iranian pistachios are the best!

One Presidential Candidate Just Promised To Wage War In 4 Different Countries | ThinkProgress

It is a well written point that I disagree with just about everything Lindsey Graham has to say on foreign policy.  I believe if he is elected president we will be in more wars that we can expertly fight.

The military is being forced to eliminate 70,000 troops because of so-called budget cuts…..but Graham is determine to have us fight war after war if he is elected……..now that we have a deal with Iran he should be one of the loudest voices of the group…….

Is this what the voters of America want for this country?  If so then by all means elect this asshat and learn to live with perpetual war.

Iran: Let’s Make A Deal–Part 2

Holy crap!  As I was listening to foreign news I was completely awaken by the announcement that a deal has been made between P5+1 and Iran on the nuke negotiations……..

After 18 days of intense and often fractious negotiation, diplomats declared today that world powers and Iran have struck a landmark deal to curb Iran’s nuclear program in exchange for billions of dollars in relief from international sanctions—an agreement designed to avert the threat of a nuclear-armed Iran and another US military intervention in the Muslim world. The accord will keep Iran from producing enough material for a nuclear weapon for at least 10 years and impose new provisions for inspections of Iranian facilities, including military sites.

The so-called Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action was reached after more than two weeks of furious diplomacy, during which negotiators blew through three self-imposed deadlines. Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and US Secretary of State John Kerry, who conducted most of the negotiations, both threatened to walk away while trading accusations of intransigence. The breakthrough came after several key compromises, diplomats say, including the continuation of a UN arms embargo on the country for up to five more years and an agreement to allow UN inspectors to press for visits to Iranian military sites as part of their monitoring duties.

Now we can have the Right go batcrap crazy!

This should move foreign policy to the forefront of the 2016 election circus for the GOP…..that way they do not have to talk about domestic problems of which they have NO answers……..

And I wait!
