ISIS: Is Training The Best Idea?

It seems that the US has one go to policy in foreign relations…..train the opposition so we do not have to fight.  The use of US troops in international conflicts is hitting an all time low…..the American people are running on empty for the use of US force.

Now with the conflict with ISIS the answer is to train the moderate rebels or the standing army to face and defeat the onslaught from the extremists.  I have questioned the reliability of this technique…….for one we have horrible at determining who the “good” guys are…….and two is it always the best idea……….I mean we train these moderates in our techniques and our methods and turn them loose to fight our battles…….but what if these trained moderates decide to join the “bad” guys?

That question will have to be answered soon enough…….

The U.S.-trained commander of Tajikistan’s elite police force has defected to Islamic State, he said in a YouTube video, and his former unit will issue a statement condemning him, media said on Thursday.

Colonel Gulmurod Khalimov commanded the Central Asian nation’s special-purpose police known as OMON, used against criminals and militants. He disappeared in late April, prompting a search by Tajik police.

He reappeared Wednesday, vowing to bring jihad to Russia and the Unites States as he brandished a cartridge belt and sniper rifle, in a professionally made, 10-minute video clip posted in social networks.

“Listen, you dogs, the president and ministers, if only you knew how many boys, our brothers are here, waiting and yearning to return to Tajikistan to re-establish sharia law there,” he said, addressing Tajik President Imomali Rakhmon.

Now a high ranking official with special access and knowledge has now joined the opposition…….will we change tactics or will we stay the course?  The opposition can now be trained to use our battle plan against us and our friends……good plan!

Now I ask again…..is training truly the best idea?

2016: Now There are 5 Dems

The Dems have not been as prolific as the GOP in getting candidates to come out of the woodwork to seek the party nomination…….so far we have O’Malley, Clinton, Sanders and Chafee and now there is one more…….Jim webb….

Jim Webb, who’s spent time as a soldier in Vietnam, assistant secretary of the Navy, and US senator from Virginia, today became the fifth Democrat to declare his intention to seek the Oval Office next year, per a decidedly non-flashy statement on his campaign website. Acknowledging that “more than one candidate intends to raise at least a billion dollars—some estimates run as high as two billion dollars” in the campaign, and that he’ll likely be vastly outspent, Webb rejects “messaging” and doubles down on his rough-around-the-edges image and military and foreign policy bona fides.

“We need to shake the hold of these shadow elites on our political process,” Webb writes. “And at the same time our fellow Americans need proven, experienced leadership that can be trusted to move us forward from a new President’s first days in office. I believe I can offer both.” Webb formed an exploratory committee last November, in what was regarded as the opening salvo to the presidential election; he’s the 19th candidate overall to declare. Still yet to come: Ohio Gov. John Kasich, set to announce July 21, and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker. Meanwhile, some pretty unsavory characters are more popular than most of the candidates; the New York Times runs down the list of who’s really running here.

Unless you are a political junkie this name will mean very little to you……..Clinton is the presumed nominee but she is being pushed hard from the Left by Sanders and Clinton has tried to grasp some of the stuff that Bernie is pushing and that has worried the d/bags in the center…..Webb is in the race to try and make sure that Clinton stays near the center and does not wander too far Left……

Sorry this dude is going to waste a bunch of money just to try and keep Clinton in the center……..his only reason for existing in the 2016 primaries.

American Voter: One Trick Pony

Here we go!  The 2016 election is about to become an all consuming issue.

We always here about the courage of the American voter and there trends here and there…..but to my thinking it is all so much crap to sell a paper.

Most all Americans are a one issue voter.  I have written on this subject before….just about every election hoping someone will see the illogical voting habits of Americans.

When it comes to informed voting habits most Americans are morons.

Let me explain.  If the voter is an abortion rights support then that is all they care about….or if they worry about the economy then they ignore the voting  problems….or if they are concerned about religious stuff then they could care less about the economy……on and on and on…….most will pretend, even lie, about their concerns, especially to pollsters….hence I call them a One trick Pony Voter.

Sadly the candidates, which are less informed than some of the voters, lead the charge to the one issue.  Let’s be honest our elections are nothing more than a side show, especially the primaries which do NOTHING to further democracy and information.  The sideshow is an illusion that there is a struggle between the two parties……when in essence these parties are nothing more than two sides of the same coin….there is little difference.

The campaigns are nothing more than a PR ploy that fortifies the one issue that is important to the voter…..and their efforts give the viewer a distorted view of the result of voting for this candidate or that…..a fantasy that is readily consumed by an uninformed and uneducated voter.

Then there is the media which was an institution for information but since it became part of an entertainment complex the news has taken a backseat to entertainment.  The media is used to do way with independent thinking……with that done the voter will focus on a single issue, usually some ego-centric issue.  The love of country is gone…..working to move the country forward is gone……..

This article ought to get the macho “John Wayne” types into a stroke……I mean the US had rather kill our enemies into submission than to waste time talking with them…….

I cannot wait for the mental midgets on the Right to see this…..though I am sure that there are those of the Left that are chest thumpers also…..and they should get their panties in a wad also……

If there is a way to end this thing without the loss of more lives then why not try it…..I mean we can go back to killing if it does not work out……..

Is the blood lust so deep that nothing will suffice short of death?  If so, then I seem to recall a time in the 1930’s that this was tried and failed…….

Just a thought.
