Yeah, The Greatest Generation!

Yesterday I posted on what some think will be Ame4rica’s “greatest” generation and boy do I disagree……I mean a generation that their biggest moment is all the morons that tape themselves trying to eat a tablespoon of cinnamon and post the results….

But the greatest generation?  When this is their next bg “accomplishment”……..

“Barista, would you roll me a robust Columbian blend?” We’re not quite there yet, but more teenagers are smoking coffee rather than drinking it and posting videos of the practice online, the Orlando Sentinel reports. Only problem: It seems unsafe, with users reporting hallucinations, vomiting, dizziness, and trouble breathing. One Reddit user who puffed coffee a couple years back called it the “stupid idea of the week,” but a middle-aged cafe customer tells KTNV that with the US “about to legalize marijuana … I think we can live with a few beanheads. No geezer would ever do this, and that’s part of the charm of it.”

What about this generation would make anyone see a bright future for the country?

Again….I ask…..Am I wrong?

  1. I’m sure our boomer generation looked quite insane to our parents in many ways yet there will always be that contingent within a generation that keeps us progressing to wherever the hell it is we are destined for.

    1. For sure we were the most “radical” in so many ways….but we did help accomplish a lot…civil rights, voter rights, etc……what are these people standing for? So far very little in my opinion…..

      1. The large contingent of Occupy Wall Street were from generation X and younger people are also helping us get past our biases with inter-racial marriages and the LGBT subculture. Their techno smarts enable the sciences though of course like any new technology, can be used to make us lazier and fatter consumers.

Their biggest challenge will be what they inherent from our generation. A planet on the verge of annihilation from our carbon-based production of many useless products.

Like our own baby boom generation, we received help from some adults of the previous generation. This newer generation too will need a little guidance from those of us who see room for improvement and advancement

      2. Larry, I wish I had your optimism…..yes they have stood for something but they are not vote for something…….since that is only way to get anything accomplished short of using the “R” word…..I just do not see a generation of Facebook, Twitter and other instant gratifications as something good….

The planet is screwed already…do not thing that this generation could save it by the time they come to “power”….sorry, it looks doomed, the planet that is….
