Trying To Reason With The Hurricance Season

Do not pay the ransom….I escaped!

Escaped the diabolical clutches of the bastard Issac!

I thought Katrina’s winds were something….but I was mistaken…..Katrina wa 14 hours and 37 minutes in duration…..Issac was about 36 hours of constant winds of 40-50 mph with gusts to 90…..

We made it alright, myself, my 92 yearsx old father and 2 scared dogs……we lost a huge oak tree which in turn took out some plum, pear and citrus trees, lost the blackberry patch and about 10 foot of privacy fence…..all in all not bad for a hurricane……we had a few tornadoes to go with the high winds….a bit of flooding but nothing we could not handle……neighborhood is in good shape with not much as far as structural damage……

Power and Internet has been returned to us and now on to bigger and better things……POLITICS!

I want to thank all my friends for the good wishes……..I appreciate everything…..thank you!

  1. You have got your hands full with the clean up. The trash man carried all ours off yesterday morning. When I look outside, things look strange with the orchid tree being barrel cut. Your blackberry patch should come back if you cut them back like roses. Getting the trees cleaned up will take a long time. Maybe this will be our only gulf storm this season. There is a couple more bloggers I follow that was in its path. I hope they are all right. Thanks for letting me know.

    1. You are welcome and I appreciate the concern…..the blackberries will be okay…but the pear and plum trees are toast…..I am pleased to have internet and now I can get back to analyzing politics….I hate that I missed the GOP convention but youtube has most of the speeches and I will watch and comment tomorrow…better late than never…..huh?

  2. Good to hear you made it through the storm ok Chuq. Now comes the horrible task of cleaning up the mess, but I’m glad you’re ok. Good luck.
