Thoughts Without Posts #3

Once again I have found that I have made more notes than I have made posts…..I will continue my tradition of posting these thoughts as a post….

1–The worst governor in the US, Haley Barbour of Mississippi, may run for the GOP nomination in the 2012 election season…..my governor…. if that thought does not scare you then you are in a coma……ask me what type of president would he make….Please!

2–Some retired generals has issued a report saying that American children are too fat to fight in the armed services……

3–Carly Fiorino (sp?) has spent $59 million of her own money in her election campaign for senator…..spent that much cash to win a seat that pays about $200,000 a year….would you spend $1 million to win the job you have?

4–Tanning Beds have been viewed as addictive—–and the use may also include substance abuse…..why do we not ask Ohio’s Boehner, he has a perpetual tan and he seems to be the addictive type…..

5–Here is a unique idea–

“And I would have suggested, and I think that bartering is really good. Those doctors who you pay cash, you can barter, and that would get prices down in a hurry,” she said. “And I would say go out, go ahead out and pay cash for whatever your medical needs are, and go ahead and barter with your doctor.”

“Bartering with your doctor is not a new concept. There have been numerous reports as to how negotiating with your doctor is an option and doctors have gone on the record verifying this. Unfortunately, Harry Reid’s failed leadership forces us to take drastic measures.”

This from a GOP candidate trying to win Harry Reid’s senatorial seat from Nevada……..Barter with doctors?  Yeah, those self-righteous, little dicks will let you paint their house for a by-pass surgery……Doctors are in it for the cash, that is why they all are specialists now……

6–You DO realize that 6 banks make up 63% of America’s GPD, right?

7–This should make one confident that the government is on your side–Senior staffers at the Securities and Exchange Commission spent hours surfing pornographic websites on government-issued computers while they were being paid to police the financial system, an agency watchdog says.

Seventeen of the employees were “at a senior level,” earning salaries of as much as $222,418.  That is what I thought…..when the economy crashed these guys were watching Asian teens and flogging their jollies…..

Stay tuned….more amazing stuff to come……

  1. Did no one explain to the jerk in #5 that governments don’t like barter – it’s very hard to tax!

      1. Yeah, right! …and Bush didn’t fight two expensive wars, whilst Reagan didn’t then I suppose set out to drive the USSR into the economic wilderness by outspending them in the arms race?

        Hmmm…. 😈

    1. Actually had a comment about bringing a chiicken to your next doctors visit….she is an idiot….but there seems to be many many of them these days…

  2. #7 – I’m surprised it wasn’t the whole goddamned department doing that. They clearly weren’t paying attention to their jobs.

PS: Did they mention which sites and what the web addresses are?

    1. Since it was mostly like done on government hardware, my guess would be whitehouse.com. (I just checked. There is only a placeholder site there now. So much for a popular Clinton legacy.)

  3. #1: Is that who was in charge during Katrina? That takes brass cajones.

#2: I am sure this is a double edge sword for the conservatives… if they keep the status quo, they won’t have people to fight their wars. If they let the government take leadership here, they become hypocrites.

#3: I guess she needs to do something with that golden parachute that she got after she drove HP into the ground.

    #4: ehhh… I got nothing.

#5: How many chickens is it for cancer treatment? Maybe she is for cutting out the middle man and having people sign over all of their worldly possessions to the doctor if they get sick. That way the doctors will not have to wait for bankruptcy proceedings to get paid.

#6: How is that? Consumer spending accounts for 60-70% of it. Is it 63% of the non-consumer portion?

#7: Well, when you are paid to just be a warm body to give the appearance that there still is a regulating agency, what else there to do? On the other hand, what could they have done. That would be like sending the fire safety inspector after the house burnt down.

      1. Maybe Shakespeare should have written, “the first thing do do is kill all the bureaucrats”…….just a thought…..

    1. Terrant….sorry I spelt it wrong…..I check and opne of the Paul’s said it was 63% of GNP not GDP….sorry about that….

      1. Now you’ve lost me – I’m always thought that, in the uK at least, GNP and GDP are the same thing – i.e. everything we make or sell (which isn’t much and under Gordon Brown it makes no difference anyway because it all goes to the f*cking government for them to waste and steal).

      2. First of all let me apologize for the lack of response over the weekend, but if you watched the news Mississippi had some ass kicking storms…..better safe than sorry…

GDP is the flow of goods and services produced by the country’s economy….GNP is GDP plus income accrued from investments overseas…..thos in the simplest terms I can think of……I could go into depth but I refuse to put my friends into a coma….

      3. Oh, right…. er I think…. Yup, definitely right! (since I don’t wish to risk a catatonic state) 😆
