Jack Boots And Root Beer

There seems to be a disconnect between what Donny says and what is happening in the ground these days.  We are told that these are riots and all the news points to protests…..so far I have seen nothing that I would say is a riot.

But the reality on the ground be damn….Donny is going to push this fake riot bullshit for all it is worth….and in all 50 states and most territories.

The National Guard has begun setting up “quick-reaction” riot police forces in all the states, reports the Wall Street Journal and the Guardian.

  • Each unit will typically have about 500 Guard soldiers who will get specialized training in crowd control and the use of devices such as batons, Tasers, pepper spray, and body shields, according to Pentagon memos. They’re expected to be in place by January.
  • The new units—dubbed the National Guard Response Force—are expected to mobilize quickly: a quarter of the force within hours, half within 12 hours, and the remainder within a day. The District of Columbia as well as all US territories also will get the units.
  • While most state National Guards have quick-reaction relief teams for natural disasters, training for protest response is a new mandate, one described by the Journal as a “major shift” by the Pentagon, under the mandate of President Trump, to increase the military’s role in civil unrest.
  • The initiative has drawn criticism from some retired military officials, who warn it could blur the line between military and civilian roles. “Every American, I don’t care what state you’re from, should understand this isn’t what we signed up for,” retired Army Maj. Gen. Randy Manner tells the Journal. Janessa Goldbeck, a former US Marine Corps captain and chief executive of the nonprofit Vet Voice Foundation, tells the Guardian the order represents “an attempt by the president to normalize a national, militarized police force.”
  • A White House spokesperson suggested the concerns are overblown. “The president has lawfully deployed the National Guard to several cities either in response to violent riots that local leaders have refused to quell, or by invitation to assist local law enforcement as appropriate,” said Abigail Jackson. “President Trump and the entire administration is working to make America safe again.”

Why?

May I ask…..why do we need a special u8nit after all the military hardware that was sent to the states do we need a ‘special unit’?

So far any violence that I have seen has only manifested itself only after heavy handed tactics are involved.

This is another Donny waste of time and money….and the states are slobbering for any federal funds they can eek out of this situation.

A Domestic Disturbance Force?

WTF?

The moron SecDef has announced, I am sure with Little Donny’s help, that the defense department will intervene in domestic problems…..

The Department of Defense is planning to create a rapid response force of National Guard troops to quickly deploy to American cities where protests or unrest are occurring.

On Tuesday, The Washington Post reported that it obtained documents showing the Pentagon is creating a “Domestic Civil Disturbance Quick Reaction Force.”

“The plan calls for 600 troops to be on standby at all times so they can deploy in as little as one hour,” the outlet explained. “They would be split into two groups of 300 and stationed at military bases in Alabama and Arizona, with purview of regions east and west of the Mississippi River, respectively.”

One hundred troops at each base would be on standby to deploy within an hour, while the entire quick force would begin operations within 12 hours. The National Guard will be equipped with weapons and riot gear, and the deployments will be limited to 90 days to prevent burnout among the troops.

On Monday, Trump announced a major crackdown on crime in Washington, DC, by federalizing the Metropolitan DC police and deploying 800 National Guard troops to the capital city. “This is Liberation Day in DC, and we’re going to take our capital back,” Trump said during a press conference at the White House. “I’m officially invoking the District of Columbia Home Rule Act. And placing the DC Metropolitan Police under direct federal control.”

“In addition, I’m deploying the National Guard to help restore law, order and public safety,” he added.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said residents of DC will soon see the National Guard in the capital. “You will see them flowing into the streets of Washington in the coming week,” he explained. “At your direction as well, sir, there are other units we are prepared to bring in — other National Guard units, other specialized units. They will be strong, they will be tough and they will stand with their law enforcement partners.”

The new quick reaction force may be deployed to other American cities if Trump perceives that there is too much crime. Trump threatened to take similar steps in other major cities, noting he hopes some of them “self-clean up.” “If we need to, we’re going to do the same thing in Chicago, which is a disaster,” the president said.

https://libertarianinstitute.org/news/pentagon-to-create-domestic-civil-disturbance-quick-reaction-force/

So the fate of American cities is left up to a lying sack of crap that makes up stats to justify is idiotic policies.

This smells like an attempt to silence any opposition by using some lie to justifying using troops to break up any and all protests.

I said this smells….and it does….

Donald Trump has opened a new, explosive salvo in his battle with elected Democrats across the country.

By revoking part of Washington DC’s right to govern itself and announcing the deployment of National Guard troops to deal with a largely non-existent crime wave in the city, the US President made it clear that he planned to take similar actions in other Democratic Party strongholds in the months ahead.

Trump’s description of life in the nation’s capital bears no resemblance whatsoever to the experience of the vast majority of its citizens. He described a city riddled with “crime, bloodshed, bedlam, squalor and worse”, and in cadences redolent of his “American Carnage” inaugural address of January 2017, spoke of a city of “complete and total lawlessness”.

Trump himself so rarely ventures outside the protective bubble of the White House that he may not even understand how ludicrous his claims sound to the ears of DC residents. Official statistics – as opposed to the unsourced numbers that the US President shared with reporters on Monday – show that violent crime is now at a 30-year low in the city.

Trump’s troop deployment won’t end with the US capital – it’s his blueprint for America

Most idiots get their info from sniveling weasels like Charlie Kirk…..who thinks it is a great idea for the occupation of American cities…

MAGA influencer Charlie Kirk celebrated President Donald Trump’s “Liberation Day” takeover of the nation’s capital by calling for the Trump administration to unleash a “full military occupation” of other large American cities “once we liberate” Washington, D.C.

In what appeared to be spurred by the recent late-night attack on former DOGE employee Edward “Big Balls” Coristine, who was allegedly assaulted during an attempted carjacking, Trump announced on Monday that he was deploying 800 National Guard troops and temporarily taking control of Washington’s police department to fight crime in the city.

“Our capital city has been overtaken by violent gangs and bloodthirsty criminals, roving mobs of wild youth, drugged out maniacs and homeless people, and we’re not going to let it happen anymore,” Trump exclaimed on Monday. Despite violent crime falling for two straight years in Washington under the current chief of police, the president likened the city to the “worst places on Earth” while repeatedly framing it as a dystopian hellscape.

Having already deployed thousands of National Guard troops to Los Angeles earlier this summer to quell protests that erupted over his immigration raids, Trump also suggested that other large cities in Democratic-led states – such as New York City and Chicago – could be next.

I have NO use for anyone that supports this invasion into our rights….and protests are a right….and crime figures are not fact…..not anymore.

The Story Of LA

Every swinging dick in this country has seen the doings in LA and everyone has an opinion on the causes of any violence……but the real dangers did not show up until the National Guard was ordered in to assist the police.

After about 10 days of protests and curfews the mayor of LA has lifted the curfew….

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass lifted a curfew in downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday that was first imposed in response to clashes with police and vandalism amid protests against President Trump’s immigration crackdown in the city. The curfew imposed June 10 provided “successful crime prevention and suppression efforts” and protected stores, restaurants, businesses, and residents from people engaging in vandalism, the Democratic mayor said. “I will be prepared to reissue a curfew if needed,” Bass said, per the Los Angeles Times. LAPD Police Chief Jim McDonnell said police plan to maintain a “strong presence” downtown.”

That means the confrontations are getting milder (for now)….but there is something that needs to see the light of day…..

The members of the National Guard have not been paid nor can they access the health care system……

Thousands of National Guard soldiers were deployed by President Donald Trump to the Los Angeles ICE raid protests—4,000 of them haven’t been paid and can’t access their military-provided health insurance, Tricare.

That’s because the service members haven’t received official activation orders, according to a report by Military.com—a news service covering the armed forces. Activation orders are “the critical paperwork that not only authorizes their duty status, but also unlocks pay, Tricare health benefits, and eligibility for Department of Veterans Affairs services,” the publication says.

President Trump issued the order sending the Guard to protect federal buildings in the city, but the paperwork has been delayed. Without those official documents, service members cannot be onboarded and receive compensation. Four dozen National Guard members in four different units told the publication they haven’t been paid and are worried about receiving benefits. The urgency of their deployment has been “chaotic” and “clogged up the flow of administrative work,” according to military administrators who spoke to the publication on background.

Pentagon officials estimate troops will be in L.A. for 60 days. Bryn MacDonnell, an undersecretary of defense in the comptroller’s office, said at a House budget hearing last week that the cost of deploying the National Guard to Los Angeles will be $134 million. It’s also likely that part-time soldiers will be deployed in domestic missions more often, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, a National Guard veteran, said during the hearing.

“I think we’re entering another phase, especially under President Trump with his focus on the homeland, where the National Guard and reserves become a critical component of how we secure that homeland,” Hegseth told lawmakers.

Hogsbreath is a moron.

There is no documentation will there ever be that?

So were they activated without official orders?

Is this a continuation of the Donny goose step policies?

This situation is uncalled for and was most likely the cause of any escalation that occurred.

Is This A ‘Reichstag Fire’ Moment?

BY now with all the media coverage every swing dick in this country has an opinion on what is happening in LA.

For me it is a “Reichstage Fire” moment…..if you have no damn idea what I am saying then ask Google….after many years of threatening the use of American military an opportunity has finally arrives and Donny found his excuse.

As President Donald Trump deployed U.S. Marines to Los Angeles on Monday in response to protests against immigration raids and the violent arrest of a popular labor leader, California Attorney General Rob Bonta’s office announced that he and Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom sued Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth over their weekend takeover of the state’s National Guard.

“President Trump’s order calling federalized National Guard troops into Los Angeles—over the objections of the governor and local law enforcement—is unnecessary and counterproductive. It’s also deeply unfair to the members of the National Guard who are hard at work every day protecting our state, preparing for and responding to emergencies, and training so that, if called, they can fight our nation’s wars,” Bonta said in a statement.

“Let me be clear: There is no invasion. There is no rebellion. The president is trying to manufacture chaos and crisis on the ground for his own political ends,” he added. “Federalizing the California National Guard is an abuse of the president’s authority under the law—and not one we take lightly. We’re asking a court to put a stop to the unlawful, unprecedented order.”

“Donald Trump is creating fear and terror by failing to adhere to the U.S. Constitution and overstepping his authority. This is a manufactured crisis to allow him to take over a state militia, damaging the very foundation of our republic,” Newsom, who widely seen as a 2028 presidential contender, said Monday.

“Every governor, red or blue, should reject this outrageous overreach,” he argued. “This is beyond incompetence—this is him intentionally causing chaos, terrorizing communities, and endangering the principles of our great democracy. It is an unmistakable step toward authoritarianism. We will not let this stand.”

Closing Thought–14Feb22

Happy Valentine’s Day to all my readers and their loved ones.

The US is engaged in several wars (all of which are undeclared) and with our troops are stretched so thin the country has turned to the state’s National Guard to fill the gaps in troops.

I have a problem with this on several levels…..Nat Guard is the state’s to use in time of emergencies…they should be used by the states not the national military muscle.

There has been a movement to keep the troops out of unauthorized wars…….

According to the Constitution, Congress has the sole power to declare war—but that hasn’t stopped presidents from sending U.S. troops to many conflicts that haven’t been congressionally authorized. Now state lawmakers across the country are introducing legislation that could challenge unconstitutional deployments.

“Defend the Guard” legislation would allow state governments to prevent their National Guard units from being deployed into conflicts abroad unless U.S. military involvement has been officially authorized by Congress through a declaration of war. “Over 45% of the soldiers deployed in the Global War on Terror have been National Guardsmen,” notes Defend the Guard, a project of BringOurTroopsHome.US. By withholding this manpower, Defend the Guard notes that states could compel the federal government to limit “its endless wars and ensure that the U.S. Constitution is followed.”

Congress last issued a declaration of war in 1942, during World War II. The U.S. military footprint abroad has ballooned in the 80 years since. Active-duty American soldiers are involved in counterterrorism training missions in 65 nations and are engaged in direct-fire combat operations in 14 of them. The U.S. conducts drone strikes in seven countries.

None of these activities have been explicitly authorized by Congress, but many have been made possible through Authorizations for Use of Military Force (AUMFs) issued in 2001 and 2002. The AUMFs give the president broad discretion “to use all necessary and appropriate force” against “nations, organizations, or persons” determined to have been involved in the September 11 attacks. The 2001 AUMF has been used to justify 41 operations in 19 countries, while the 2002 AUMF hasn’t been the sole authorization used in any military force since 2011.

Defend the Guard legislation seeks to hobble this presidential carte blanche. Lawmakers in Arizona, Idaho, Kentucky, Oklahoma, and other states have introduced bills in the past month that would keep their National Guardsmen out of unauthorized conflicts. Should these bills pass, the federal government would still be able to deploy the National Guard to other states or send them to training missions abroad, among other explicitly constitutional activities. A 1990 Supreme Court decision ruled that the federal government could deploy a state’s National Guard for peacetime training purposes without a governor’s approval.

These Bills Would Keep the National Guard Out of Unconstitutional Wars

This in my opinion is a good thing….the states should be in control of their troops.  If the US wants to use these troops then they need to grow spine a start declaring these wars.

In stead they just keep using troops that are not theirs to use.

Do you serve in the National Guard?

You already serve overseas in our many many conflicts……(something I do not think is a good idea in this time of crises at home….you are needed here not in some far off country that few can find on a map)….

If you do serve with the NG then if I were you I would start to worry….it seems the plan is to use the NG more and more overseas…..

The top general of the US National Guard said the reserve force will be used “more, not less” in the coming years as the Pentagon shifts its focus and budget priorities.

“Given the uncertain future and budget priorities, we expect the Department of Defense to rely on the National Guard more, not less,” said Gen. Daniel Hokanson, the chief of the National Guard Bureau, in a statement published earlier this year. “Therefore, we must be ready to execute our three core missions; fighting America’s wars, securing the homeland, and building enduring partnerships.”

Since last year, the National Guard has been deployed to deal with a number of domestic issues, including the occupation of Washington DC in the wake of the January 6th incident at the Capitol building. On top of the domestic missions, the National Guard is still deployed across the world.

According to Military.com, there are currently 20,000 National Guard troops deployed across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. The Pentagon’s over-reliance on the National Guard to fight wars overseas prompted activists to push state legislation that would give the federal government less power to deploy National Guard to combat zones.

The Defend the Guard Act would prevent a state’s National Guard from being deployed to combat zones unless Congress had declared war. The legislation could give the power to states to block the use of their National Guard and has been introduced to multiple state legislatures.

As the Pentagon is shifting its focus to contain China, priority is being put on new technology research and advanced warfighting capabilities in the space and cyber realms. Reflecting this, the National Guard is looking to establish a reserve group that would focus on space, known as a Space Guard. In May, Gen. Hokanson told Congress that establishing a Space Guard is one of his most “pressing concerns.”

Closing Thought–10Mar21

Did you know that the National Guard is being used in our endless wars?

Well they are and now governors are moving to end the endless deployments of the Guard in armed conflicts….

In summer blockbusters and other entertainment, the United States Armed Forces are almost always portrayed through the lens of their most elite units, such as the Navy SEALS or the Army Rangers. But while the special forces are heroes in their own right, they’re not the most irreplaceable piece on the board. That designation falls to the humble National Guard, the real backbone of America’s military.

I’ve served in the Marine Corps, the U.S. Army, and the Idaho National Guard. In my deployments to Afghanistan, I found the Guard to be the best trained of them all.

Numbering nearly 350,000 men and women, these citizen-soldiers — who when they’re not donating time to Uncle Sam are working full-time jobs, running businesses, attending college, and raising families — have carried more than their fair share of the burden. Since the launch of the Global War on Terror in 2001, 45 percent of deployed personnel have been National Guard units, with 57,000 Guardsmen located overseas as recently as December 2020. And the costs have been felt; 18.4 percent of the subsequent casualties have been Guard members.

For two decades of war, the National Guard has tried to live up to its motto of “Always Ready, Always There.” But the undeniable fact is that every American soldier sent to nation-build in Afghanistan or patrol the streets of Iraq is one less person who can protect and aid his fellow Americans back home.

States are moving to end National Guard role in unauthorized wars

As an antiwar supporter and activist I applaud these measures.

A small step…..NOW let’s work to get ALL troops out of these worthless non-productive endless wars!

It is beyond time for these worthless costly endless wars to come to an end and bring the troops home to their families.

How Many Troops?

The report is that there will about 25,000 troops in and around DC for the inauguration……what?

That is more troops that we have in our two longest wars….about double….the troops in DC will be there to stop any more silliness from the stupid far right.

25,000?

“National Guard members are postured to meet the requirements of the supported civil authorities, up to and including protective equipment and being armed if necessary,” according to the statement. “The public’s safety is our top priority.”

Gen. Daniel R. Hokanson, chief of the National Guard Bureau, told reporters Monday that a force of up to 15,000 will deploy to D.C. with all their issued equipment, including their individual weapons. So if the need arises, “they are close by and they are readily accessible.”

(military.com)

BBC News has some good photos of the troops in and around DC…..https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-55654102

With so many troops in and around DC for the big day….some fear for an insider attack on the day…..

Some 25,000 National Guard troops are flooding into Washington, DC, to provide extra security for President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration Wednesday—and the federal government is working to ensure none of the troops represent a potential threat. Officials speaking on condition of anonymity tell the Washington Post that the FBI is working with the Army to vet the incoming troops amid fears of an “insider attack.” “We’re continually going through the process, and taking second, third looks at every one of the individuals assigned to this operation,” Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy tells the AP. He says the Army, which already reviews members for connections to extremist groups, has been providing Guard members with additional training on identifying possible insider threats.

McCarthy says the vetting process hasn’t identified any threats from within the military so far. He says numerous service members attended President Trump’s rally before the Jan. 6 riot, but its not clear how many of them actually stormed the Capitol. The Army says it is also working with the Secret Service to determine which service members will require additional background checks, the Post reports. “There is no place for extremism in the military and we will investigate each report individually and take appropriate action,” the Army said in a statement. “The Army is committed to working closely with the FBI as they identify people who participated in the violent attack on the Capitol to determine if the individuals have any connection to the Army.”

The nation will hold it’s breath.

Attack On Guardsmen

Let me say here that there are some things happening in these protests that I do not agree with in any shape….contrary to popular belief.

While deployed for duty in DC……The National Guard from South Carolina was sent a pizza that had broken glass baked into the crust…..

While deployed in Washington, D.C., responding to protests, two soldiers with the South Carolina National Guard discovered glass in their pizza, a new report says.

The soldiers were staying at the Marriott Marquis Hotel and used Uber Eats to deliver the pizza from an unnamed local establishment, the Post and Courier reports, citing a Defense Department report on the incident. But upon its arrival, the soldiers found the pizza had pieces of glass baked into the dough and cheese.

The soldiers weren’t harmed, and the S.C. National Guard believes it was an isolated incident.

“The service members are okay. It was a single incident. Their command said the Soldiers were advised to file a report with local police department. From my understanding they chose not to. There is no additional information to report,” Capt. Jessica Donnelly, a spokeswoman for the S.C. National Guard, said in an email to Military Times.

(Military Times)

Let me say here that this is unacceptable…..this is an act of terrorism in my book.  This is the act of a coward.

Now my analyst mind kicks in and I ask why was it not reported to the police?

After all it was an attempt on the lives of serving members of the South Carolina National Guard….this was a crime and needed reporting to the police to make the offenders pay for their murderous attempt.

Again…why was this not reported?

Why was the South Carolina National Guard singled out?

Why is the Uber Eats driver not interviewed?

Surely someone out there has an opinion on this incident…after all they have lots to say about stuff that they have no idea what they are talking about….why not this one?

I have a feeling that those most offended by this report will have little say now that it is in the rear view mirror.

Hell No We Won’t Go!

(Sorry had mental flash there)

Our dear leader has decided that he might do something that presidents of the past have done…call up the national guard for police work….

Vets are strong against using any military against civilians….that is tantamount of the policies of a third world dictator.

The veterans have issued a open call to all Guardsmen…..

Over 300 veterans have signed onto an open letter encouraging members of the National Guard to respond to the “moral choice” in front of them by refusing orders to deploy against protesters in streets across the nation.

“We urge you to have the courage to do the right thing,” the letter says. “Refuse activation orders.”

Protests over the May 25 killing of unarmed black man George Floyd by Minneapolis police officers have spread around the country, leading to confrontations between demonstrators and heavily armed police.

The open letter was coordinated by About Face: Veterans Against the War, a group that describes itself as composed of “post-9/11 service members and veterans organizing to end a foreign policy of permanent war and the use of military weapons, tactics, and values in communities across the country.” It was released the same day President Donald Trump threatened protesters with violence, tweeting that “when the looting starts, the shooting starts.”

With all the back and forth a Dem Senator is issuing a proposal to stop the use of military on protesters….

Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) said Tuesday he will introduce an amendment to the annual defense policy bill seeking to block President Trump from deploying the military against protesters.

The move from Kaine, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, comes after President Trump threatened to deploy the military in response to demonstrations against police violence and racial injustice. The senator said he will introduce the amendment when the Senate panel takes up the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) next week.

“I never thought we would have to use the NDAA to make clear that the U.S. military shouldn’t be used as an agent of force against American citizens who are lawfully assembling,” Kaine said in a statement Tuesday. “I thought that would seem obvious to everyone. But as we take up the NDAA next week, I’m going to be pushing to ensure the president can’t treat the U.S. military as his personal palace guard to try to ward off peaceful protests.”
