We have just celebrated our 250th year of existence and we have a complete idiot as leader and things have changed in this country….that brings us to the question has Trump changed democracy forever?
This is what 11 historians have to say about the question…..

Do you agree with these findings by historians?
What do you think….has Donny changed the definition of democracy?
I Read, I Write, You Know
“lego ergo scribo”
Well I read the whole thing, and think some of them were very over-optimistic. How anyone who tried to overturn an election by urging people to storm the Capitol,, then tried gerrymandering, fiddling with postal voting, and changed the rules for married women to vote can be described as even remotely ‘democratic’ is beyond me.
Best wishes, Pete.
Except for Tevi Troy (Senior fellow at the Ronald Reagan Institute), who errantly praised today’s America as one of the world’s “tentpoles,” I generally agree with those historians although what they said was neither particularly incisive nor insightful.
Regarding democracy, I’ll quote myself from 2015 which I believe still applies:
“WITHOUT AN EDUCATED AND PARTICIPATORY POPULACE, DEMOCRACY FAILS”
“WITHOUT DEMOCRACY, AUTHORITARIANISM PREVAILS”
“POWER ABHORS A VACUUM, SO GOVERNMENT IS EVERYWHERE”
“WHEN GOVERNMENT FAILS, ANARCHY PREVAILS”
