I do not normally write about the climate stuff basically because any sane person realizes that this planet is doomed without some serious changes.
I saw this article and wanted to share it with my readers because 2030 is not that far away.
Climate change is not just about warmer summers and unpredictable weather. It also causes rising sea level, which is an especially real and present danger for coastal cities worldwide. Rising sea levels, driven by melting ice caps and expanding warm water, are putting many cities at risk. Here are 12 cities that could be underwater by 2030.

This does not bode well for the planet if some iconic cities are that close to flooding.,
Any thoughts about this prediction or the climate stuff in general?

Nobody will pay attention to this until one sweet day they wake up in the morning with water up to their ass….which they definitely will…. which in some places on the planet they already are— Bangladesh is a good example… I have a friend who lives there and he is telling me their coastline is flooding and causing residents to flee. I didn’t even know they had a coastline there.
They have been warned for decades ….if it gets that deep let the fuckers drown…..see stupid is terminal. chuq
The wording “could be underwater by 2030” is somewhat inaccurate. Those cities and many other areas too are already experiencing problematic flooding which will only get worse with time. But, “underwater” suggests total inundation which isn’t the case at least not for several more decades.
However, such cities will become uninhabitable long before they are completely submerged. The double whammy of sea level rise and subsidence (due to paved-over land which prevents replenishment from sedimentation) is plainly evident now in places like New Orleans.
Once it starts the sooner the prophecy can come true. chuq
IMO, human beings are natural procrastinators. ‘Nuf said.
Yep chuq
I read the list of cities, and I suppose it could be argued that to some degree Venice is already underwater. I tend to agree with the prediction, though I think 2030 is a little ‘early’ for that to happen. I could be wrong of course. There is a ‘doom map’ of England in 2050 that shows the entire east of England, including were I live, actually underwater and uninhabitable. That would force the displacement of millions of people to higher ground in the UK. I think 2050 is more likely. (I will be 98, but don’t expect to live to see it)
Best wishes, Pete.
Pete in 2050 I would be 103 and that just not happening…..chuq
I hear the GOP met with him in the hospital….but no news on how that went….yet chuq
