Last Week At The Sh*t Show–20Jul25

Another eventful week and another week of total stupidity.

The week has been dominated by this Epstein saga…..just a waste to time no matter which side you come down on….regardless what is found will do nothing to keep my family fed or Uncle Bob gets his Medicaid or Auntie Sarah is able to retire…..nothing will change with this moronic pursuit.

Enough of that what has happened this past week in Donnyville?

More tariffs may come….this time on small countries that have little to do with the trade imbalance that Donny wants us to believe….

President Trump told reporters Tuesday that he plans to place tariffs of over 10% on smaller countries, including nations in Africa and the Caribbean, the AP reports. “We’ll probably set one tariff for all of them,” Trump said, adding that it could be “a little over 10% tariff” on goods from at least 100 nations. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick interjected that the nations with goods being taxed at these rates would be in Africa and the Caribbean, places that generally do relatively modest levels of trade with the US and would be relatively insignificant for addressing Trump’s goals of reducing trade imbalances with the rest of the world.

Punish smaller countries ought to bring all else in balance.

Donny has floated the idea of the government taking over cities like DC and NYC….moronic proposal….but is it possible?

As President Donald Trump continually works to expand his power through executive actions, one of his recent proposals takes things to the next level. He has suggested he could use the authority of the presidency to perform a federal “takeover” of major cities like New York and Washington, D.C. But political scientists are split on whether Trump has the ability to do this, whether he will try it and how it would work.

“We have tremendous power at the White House to run places when we have to,” Trump said to reporters during a Cabinet meeting. And he has threatened to do just that in New York if Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani wins the city’s mayoral election.

Trump’s threat to take over cities, in particular New York, is a “menace of federal overreach and an affront to self-governance through fair democratic elections,” said Politico. But his comments may have been “just political saber rattling, the natural escalation of a president who loves to shock with his rhetoric.”

Let’s begin with stuff the dolts in DC and ther adminstration had to say last week….first up is Donny’s claim about his uncle….

President Donald Trump claimed on Tuesday that his uncle taught Ted Kaczynski at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology before Kaczynski became the Unabomber. However, Kaczynski did not attend MIT.

Trump attended the Pennsylvania Energy and Innovation Summit in Pittsburgh, where attendees praised his leadership. During his remarks, Trump took a detour to talk about artificial intelligence and his late uncle, John G. Trump, who designed generators and was a professor at MIT. The president has occasionally invoked his uncle to try to burnish his family’s intellectual bona fides, and did so again on Tuesday:

I have to brag just for a second because when I first heard about AI, you know, it’s not my thing, although my uncle was at MIT. One of the great professors, 51 years, whatever, longest-serving professor in the history of MIT. Three degrees in nuclear, chemical, and math. That’s a smart man. Kaczynski was one of his students. Do you know who Kaczynski was? There’s very little difference between a madman and a genius.

But Kaczynski, I said, “What kind of a student was he, Uncle John, Dr. John Trump?” He said, “What kind of a student?” And he said, “Seriously good. He said he’d go around correcting everybody.”

But it didn’t work out too well for him. Didn’t work out too well. But it’s interesting in life.

Kaczynski attended and received degrees from Harvard University and the University of Michigan, the latter of which he worked at, as well as the University of California at Berkeley. However, he never attended MIT.

John Trump died in 1985, but Kaczynski wasn’t revealed to be the Unabomber until his arrest in 1996, notes Gizmodo and CNN. Also, Kaczynski went to Harvard and the University of Michigan, not MIT. The school has no record of him attending in any fashion.

Another fantastic lie from the lips of Donny.

Then there is the VP who decides who is a citizen….

Whether or not he knew it, JD Vance recently waded right into one of the thorniest questions in political philosophy: Who is a citizen and who is not, and who gets to decide?

Above and beyond that question — which is up for grabs right now in the United States in a way it hasn’t been since the late 19th century — lie other, equally difficult, questions: What is a nation, in general, and what is this one in particular? Is it an idea, a creed, a set of laws and customs and shared assumptions that shift with the tides of history? Is it all the people who live within the boundaries of a given territory, whatever their background? Or is it a community of people united by what they perceive as ancient and enduring ties of language, religion, ancestry and ethnicity?

I’m willing to bet our vice president is well aware of these questions, and possesses some understanding of the unresolved tension between what are known in political theory as the “republican” and “liberal” conceptions of citizenship. (More on those below.) Unlike his boss in the Oval Office, Vance is neither a dimwit nor an ignoramus. He’s a shameless, power-hungry hypocrite, which is almost certainly worse, and he sees himself as the most plausible heir to the MAGA throne, whether or not Donald Trump demolishes the constitutional order badly enough to allow himself to run for a third term in 2028.

As long as Vance is on my mind….profiting from his position?

The Trump administration has given contracts to four defense contractors that Vice President JD Vance has a financial stake in, according to a report by the government watchdog group Accountable.US.

Financial disclosure forms published by the Office of Government Ethics for June 2025 reveal that through at least the end of 2024—the last date at which he was required to disclose his investments—Vance had anywhere from $100,000 to $250,000 invested in Revolution’s Rise of the Rest Seed Fund, a Washington, D.C.-based venture capital group he helped to found before taking office.

Rise of the Rest is invested in at least four military contractors that have since received large contracts from the Trump-Vance administration. Two of them received those contracts—worth millions of dollars—within two weeks of Trump beginning his second term.

That was the week that was…..at the heart of our booming government (the ‘boom’ is from the demolition explosion of our society.

Enjoy your Sunday and as always….Be Well and Be Safe….

  1. Profiting from their position seems to be the only reason anyone enters politics in the modern age, whatever the country. Trump lies so much, he forgets his own lies, and then lies again by saying he never said the lies in the first place.
We live in a clown world.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. It would appear that our beloved (koff koff)President lives in his own steamed-glass cubical/cublicle (whatEVer) with his own version of his personal history floating alongside. It also changes to fit the narrative, he has a cousin who knew this famous person, an uncle who did this wonderful thing, on and on and on…he reminds me of a ten year old boy trying to impress his playmates about how terrific he is. It doesn’t work then, either.
This is, in retrospect, a classic sign of Narcissism, where the person involved is so unsure of himself that all the money in the world can’t bolster his fragile ego, he brags, he lies, he ‘knows people’, he postures. Each time the bragging gets a bit larger, a bit more forceful. I’ve seen this first hand. Two neighbors and my mother all went that way, and at some point the entire facade falls away and you are left with a terrified human being. It hurts to watch.

The fact that enough of our beloved countrymen voted this man into the most important seat of the country (god forbid we should have a feeeemale) says maybe too much about our own mentality and how we choose our leaders, these days.

    1. Judy…..I think it shows just how deep our biases are…..his lies and promises hit home for the poor mentally impaired. chuq
