I have been writing about the “intifadas” of the Palestinians….I was in the area when the first one was happening….December 1987……I witnessed some amazing bravery and gonads by the Palestinian protesters…..
Americans do not understand what or why the intifadas were important…..they were the people of the Occupied Territories trying to reclaim their heritage and their rights…..something most Americans could understand and would understand if it were anybody but Palestinians protesting Israel.
I have tried to explain as best as I can but I have fallen short on every occasion……I did find a good article by Ramzy Baroud that does the very thing that I tried……
Please check it out if you are interested in knowing why a people would resort to this sort of situation……
Whether history moves in a straight or cyclical line, it matters little. The uncontested fact is that it is in constant motion. Thus, the current situation in Palestine is particularly frustrating to a generation that has grown up after the Oslo Peace Acco

Take a little time and see why a people would feel the necessity to resort to this as a way to make a point…….
Intifadas don’t work because regardless of their eventual goals if they ever did work it would mean the end of inter-cultural warfare and since war is in their DNA that would be so counter to their culture they would implode as a human entity.
Yopu are right….the Jews know no other way….just look at the Bible
Jews are cool.
I guess if you like that sort of crimes
I had a Jewish baby sitter. My friend, Benjamin B. (Bee-Bee) Bernard fed me peanut brittle when I was just a toddler … What can I say?
Can you be bought with peanut brittle? LOL
Yes and cordial cherries
Mine is walnut brownies….and pineapple upside down cake…
and antacid pills for the cake, right?
(knock on wood) I seldom have indigestion…a small blessing….LOL
I have it a lot! The price of a lifetime of tension.
I am fortunate…thank God for I eat a lot of super spicy food…but I am old and I am sure that it will find me eventually….LOL
Spicy food is supposed to be good for keeping the veins and arteries clean.
Apparently it works….at least for me…..
🙂
wonderful point of view. somehow my heart never beats for Palestinians though I know they fight for a land that belongs to them.( I KNOW IT IS A DIPLOMATICALLY INCORRECT VIEW, BUT AM BEING hONEST)
I like honesty….Palestinians remind me of the way the US treated the Native Americans….very similar…..steal land, destroy crops and kill them when they stand up to them…..
only difference is the Americans were not persecuted like the Jews.
Actully the Native Americans were persecuted just not publicly known….there is a great book about this over the years “Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee”….a lot of stuff that is not taught in schools,
Sorry for not explaining better.Native Americans yes, not the Invaders or Immigrants.
Gotcha….sorry about the confusion…a great book if you get the chance to read it…
will try to get it
It will shed some light on the policies of this country even towards its own people….
We know of that to some extent from Slavery years, Depriving women of Franchise etc etc.
But the Native Americans have always taken a backseat to other minorities….
hmmm
