Two Faces of Russia’s Foreign Policy

With the recent news that Putin has ordered Russian troops out of Syria….I thought that this report from the Wilson Center would help with any understanding that some people might be searching for…..

Russian foreign policy has perplexed many in the diplomatic corps for years now…..if you are a reader of IST then you were aware of the Russian involvement in Syria was coming to an end almost as it was happening…..

Originally many in the West tended to view Russia’s Syrian adventure as yet another one of “Moscow’s gambits.” Commentators described Ukraine and Syria in the same breath. But Russia is eager to demonstrate that the two projects could hardly be more different and that Moscow can be two things at the same time.

If you want to be “in the loop” then I suggest that making IST a stop would be a really good idea……

  1. Yanukovych rejected a pending EU association agreement…
    The reason?
The E.U. is fragmenting & wot with another bout of Q.Easing…lets not to forget the youth unemployment rates in Greece and Spain et al…
Please let us not also forget who runs the E.U….stiffs in suits ruled by banks..Goldman Sachs and the rest!
More to the point is this…..
Pro-Brexit MPs warn Obama to stay out of EU referendum debate http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/pro-brexit-mps-warn-barack-obama-to-stay-out-of-eu-referendum-debate-a6936066.html
    This is the problem…
Obama wants the E.U. as a ‘wall’ against Russia, spreading his so called democracy.
Perhaps ,if USA foreign policy would butt out instead of interfering…..maybe there might be less aggro in the world….including lap dog Britain, not to forget all the other poodles.

Bringing the war to an international level is helping to hold Syria’s ceasefire http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/syria-civil-war-bringing-conflict-to-an-international-level-is-helping-to-hold-the-ceasefire-a6933081.html
I am so tired of USA Imperialism that I would rather vote for Putin!

  2. Ukraine, Syria, Afghanistan, and all the other points of conflict around the world are nothing more than a shuffling of power amongst the corporate entities, all eight of them, who are vying for political control of the almost eight billion consumers out there, by keeping them afraid, and involved in their petty differences, none of which are important in the larger sense; the conflicts only matter to those involved, as they are in the field of fire. It is all just a market grab, made easy by the massive ignorance, and willingness to deliberately refuse to see Reality so common to the human animal….

Don’t worry, though…. It’s all a self-correcting process, and our species, Homo Suicidus, will be gone before very much longer, as the changes we have made to our environment proceed to their only possible conclusion, which involves the complete extinction of our species, when the air will be unbreathable, the water is polluted, and food will no longer grow…. End of story….

Sorry, but, hey, it’s St. Paddy’s Day; let’s go have a Guinness or six and forget about it all….
