I like this… It’s a good, simple summary; it also stimmed my dubiousity, I’m afraid…
I’d say this will help some folks with their confusion, but, even this may be too simple for those who subscribe to the unfortunate tendency toward being terrorized…. I’d say, a picture of Marines shooting up a mosque in Baghdad might not be out of place in the first/left category, though it might also get one a visit from the NSA (as might this comment, I’d guess… my computer puts that at a 38% chance….) I would imagine, though, the people of Baghdad were undoubtedly terrorized when it happened, frequently…
Seems to me the definition of terrorism can ONLY come from those who have personally suffered an act of violence without provocation, which is my own definition…. When one commits violence, for the purpose of forcing anyone else to do ANYTHING, it is terrorism… Calling it racism, or hate crimes, or bigotry, or even dispassionate killing on order, doesn’t alter the way the victims feel…
Makes it simple for me; it’s ALL terrorism. Of course, I’m not terrorized; never have been, though I came close that time I had a 300 lb. raging schizophrenic go after me because he thought I was a dragon, about to flame him…. I was, admittedly, terrorized for a moment…But, he got over it with the help of a bit of time and Thorazine.. So did I, mostly, and without the Thorazine…
But, I refuse to give in to being manipulated into being terrified by POSSIBILITIES, most of which can’t even get a 10% likelihood rating from the best guess programs I can find. Nor will I submit to such manipulation, especially by people who are documented as having lied to the public a minimum of 50% of the time, as proven by public statements.
SIGH…
I guess you teachers can’t help trying to teach… Good on ya, and, good luck with that, chuq… and, sorry, no I didn’t notice the rhyme until I wrote it….
gigoid, the un-terrorized, dubious bozo

My moment was a 400 lb woman in a bikini that said she thought I was cute…..
My grandfather use to say….”If you think you are a victim then you already are”……
Sounds like he got it….
I should have written all his sayings down…it is hard to remember them all…..
“politically motivated violence committed by persons or groups who are not allies of the speaker”
all violence is an act of terrorism….at least to my way of thinking…..
Terror – Something The Powers That Be will do everything they can to stop. Effective, or not. Legal, or not. To reduce the risk of “terror” by 0.0000001%, they would institute 24/7 surveillance and 5 times a day rectal cavity searches of every (Non Powers That Be) citizen.
Not Terror – Something The Powers That Be couldn’t give less of a fuck about.
Thanks to my cable package, I used to watch a lot of Seattle TV news. Whenever I hear about the 2
hardcore terrorist mastermindsretarded losers in Boston who killed 4 people, I remember watching this story that very same week about a guy from the Seattle area who killed 4 people during a door to door gun rampage.http://www.federalwaymirror.com/news/204119171.html
Compare Contrast:
One got weeks unending international coverage and still gets coverage. It got the attention & unlimited resources from all levels of government. The other event was just local news that was completely forgotten by the next day.
The MSM decides what is important….if it feeds the propaganda then it will be shown….if not then it is just “shit happens”….sad, huh?
Yes. But to be fair, there’s also the “Man Bites Dog” effect. The more unusual something is, the more likely it will be news & vice-versa. A lunatic on a gun killing rampage is now so common in America, it’s essentially been demoted to local news. Which says a lot.
Even mass shootings have to have “angles” now. I think that’s part of why the mainstream media is so eager to play up the “terror” or “attack on our kids/troops” angles. Because killing people out of sheer insanity isn’t dramatic enough to pull in good ratings. You’ve got to have compelling “narratives”, identifiable & sympathetic victims and super-evil villains.
I wish it were not so….but you are right as sad as it is…..
