Okay all you nervous Nellies…..Ebola is here and we have to deal with that……there are a couple of things that need to be touched upon…….
First, the panic over the Ebola death and the rising number of people affected in this country have doubled….we went from one and now we have two…..the horror!
I got a Tweet today and it made an excellent point…….

There have been lots of finger pointing as to why and how this could happen……how could the ‘best’ country in the world be caught flat footed by the Ebola virus……and there is an answer…the same answer I have been pointing to since this whole thing began……you want to know the culprit?

More than the Republicans mindless budget cutting we have free market system that saw no profit in creating a vaccine they felt would not affect our population. The need for a global health service that produced vaccines for poorer countries seems, in hindsight at least, that it should have been on the top of someone’s list
I think if grant money had been available it would have made a difference….and let’s not forget the Dems that jumped on the cutting bandwagon.
Ebola thrives in West African states because there’s no water supply, no sewage, people are living in cramped shanty towns with little or no real medical infrastructure. As soon as this virus reaches the first world it meets with clean water, highly sophisticated medical services, disinfectant, and proper waste management. Our society will cope with it and destroy it.
Meanwhile, in Africa society infrastructure is breaking down. What medical facilities do exist is so over whelmed by Ebola that all other illnesses are being neglected. These countries could collapse leading to a terrible situation where all sorts of trouble makers will make hay. This is going to cost the West dearly when we have to pick up the pieces. Remember failed state Somalia?
As a society we are happy for our corporations to profit from the raw resources from these countries and care not a jot that the local population enjoys almost none of the rewards.
Our chickens are coming home to roost.
So very well said! Thanx for the share….chuq
“It is unlikely the Ebola Virus will ever come to The United States” I heard that from the horse’s mouth in a media report not too long ago — so I am totally convinced there are no Ebola cases here — never were — never will be — somebody is pulling our legs — and even if a case did develop here it would be eradicated pretty soon because — as the CDC has said — this thing is completely under control and we have nothing to fear.
Do not worry about developing a vaccine for Ebola — as soon as Big Pharma can see a few billion dollars worth of profit from developing one you can bet your bottom dollar the work will begin on developing one — but I don’t think they will start developing it until we have at least half a million confirmed cases — I remember the old Polio epidemic back in the 1940s and 50s caused widespread havoc before a vaccine as developed and I see no reason by the “It can’t happen here” mentality will operate any differently this time around.
But if the greed-mongers can smell money — there will be all kinds of vaccines — and quickly — I am very confident of that.
Congress si partially to blame for this condition…all those that secured votes by voting budget cuts, both Repubs and Dems, they are all to blame…..grants were one of the first ones to go with the cuts they voted for and to not blame them is just wrong…shame the f*ckers as much as possible…
I will worry when the guy next door dies from the disease….chuq
Who wanted the sequestration?
Exactly……
Just visting some of my favorites. Life continues one right?
Yes and thanx to the media it gets more and more confusing…..
I am still looking for my panacea.
Research is mine…..but I am strange like that….LOL
I do love looking for the dead and their stories. I meant a “place”, I have been told my “place” doesn’t exist! LOL
