Ah…Trent Lott…..a famous Mississippian….he is from my neck of the woods, South Mississippi……….he was a representative then a senator then the Senate majority leader and then his name became MUDD.

He became the talk of the town when he was speaking at the birthday party of the Congress long time racist from South Carolina….the old fart of the South…..Strom Thurmond…….his comments were racist and he was basically forced to resign …..and in 2007 he took it on the lame and resigned from Congress to become a lobbyist, just ahead of the requirement that they wait before they may become a lobbyist…….and this is where the story takes a curious turn……..

Russian bank targeted with sanctions by President Obama over the Ukraine crisis, has hired two former U.S. senators to lobby against those sanctions, according to a new disclosure filed with the Senate.

Gazprombank is controlled by Russia’s state-owned energy company Gazprom, the country’s largest gas producer; it supplies about a third of Europe’s natural gas.

In a filing submitted Friday and effective that day, former Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott, R-Miss., and former Senator John Breaux, D-La., are listed as the main lobbyists under the Gazprombank account for the firm Squire Patton Boggs, lobbying on “banking laws and regulations including applicable sanctions.”

So the famous (?) Mississippian for his war hawk stances against the old USSR has changed now that he can make a few bucks helping them beat the sanctions imposed by the US because of their aggression in Ukraine.

His concern when a politician was that of average Americans making their way…….I said then he was a self-centered prick that his only concern was the power and the cash he could make……good to see that I was right then and I am right now……Lott is still the same person he always was….a self-centered prick.
