The weekend again and the GOP convention lurks just east of Issac….so let us lighten the atmosphere a bit….
I have often wondered if there is any odors in space….I mean after all it is a vacuum. If there are smells….what are they?
Just when I thought I had a question with no adequate answer….I find this……
(Newser) – Outer space may be soundless, but it’s apparently not odorless. Life’s Little Mysteries recently stumbled upon a 2009 interview with a NASA astronaut that’s too good to not resurrect. In it, Kevin Ford spoke of picking up the weird odor while undertaking spacewalks. It’s not something he could smell while embarking on them (the plastic odor of the spacesuit delights the nose then), but once back in the International Space Station, the smell is there: a metallic odor that Life’s Little Mysteries describes as having the “aroma of seared steak, hot metal, and welding fumes.”
Now with that I have another question…..what in space would smell like seared meat? Your thoughts?
Speaking of outer space. I bet God is sending a hurricane to the GOP convention, to punish them for their treatment of women. She’s mightily pissed. Those A-holes better watch out for some fire and brimstone coming their way too 🙂
Hansi the problem is it looks like a more Easterly landfall….meaning close to me and God has done enough to us….better Tampa…..wishful thinking…..
No matter your political bend, it’s never okay to wish injury on your opponent. Both remarks were completely uncalled for…
That is too bad….I have lived through Katrina and was a first responder…….it may be awful but I want someone else to try it I have done my time…kinda like politics fuck everybody but those that agree with me…..but all this talk about politics…..what about the smells in space….it has got to be better than the smell coming from Washington, Tampa or North Carolina……..
You should be ashamed of yourself.
Don’t even try to justify your comment. You shouldn’t want someone else to “try it.” You shouldn’t want it to happen to anybody ever again.
….and anyone who has been through a hurricane will say the same thing if they are honest….but after watching the politics of this election…honesty is in short supply!
Lobotero,
I volunteered during Katrina as a paramedic for the Red Cross. I saw the damage, the suffering. I have lived through a tornado, and saw the aftermath – our house.
I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
And I was there for all 14 hours and 37 minutes of the storm….and I still say that if anyone is honest they would say what I said….
