Live from the Reagan Library….It’s Debate Night! If it is Wednesday…it must be California and the GOP big night…..
I know opinions are like a/holes and mine is just as valid as anyone else…..so without further ado….let’s get busy!
Let me summarize the entire debate……..Reagan….tax cuts….more Reagan….balanced budget……even more of that Reagan guy…..and Obama sucks……how is that for a short summary?
Okay, I know you want my opinion of the players and how they did……..
From the opening volley it was Romney vs Perry…..actually it was everybody against Romney…..all candidates but Romney and Perry have been pushed to the sidelines…..they will be nothing more than spectators with money…..Santorun, Bachmann, Paul, Cain, Gingrich…..have NO chance at the nomination without some miraculous turn of events……they talk….but NO one is listening!
Okay, who won and who lost, right?
Huntsman was the big loser, in my opinion…..this was his chance to shine….while he did answer his questions truthfully…..he fired a dud…….
Winners…..Romney and Perry….their back and forths were well scripted and almost seemed genuine….but the big winner was Mitt….he was presidential looking and calm….to me Perry was a bit rough and fidgety….but played his part as the attack dog well……with all that I gave the edge to Romney with Perry coming up on the Right…..
With all the drama of this debate there was yet another winner that was not in the debate….. (pause for surprise to settle in)……Tim Pawlenty (T-Paw)……..I know….what the Hell am I talking about? This week T-Paw has been all over the tube with interviews on FOX, MSNBC and the Colbert Show and more to come….he is setting the stage for 2016 and he is taking the opportunity with all eyes on the GOP to keep his name and his face out there…in essence he is pulling a Romney….he has started his campaign for 2016….
All in all the debate was anything but exciting……there were NO new ideas….just a re-hash of tired old GOP talking points….but it did have a few moments and should make the next debate more interesting…..that is my story and I am sticking to it!
