Here Comes The “Fear” Card (Again)

Once again the RNC will use the “fear” card as a draw for fund raising….they were outed by a dummie that left the material behind in a hotel room and it came into the hands of Politico…….

The Republican National Committee plans to raise money this election cycle through an aggressive campaign capitalizing on “fear” of President Barack Obama and a promise to “save the country from trending toward socialism.”

The strategy was detailed in a confidential party fundraising presentation, obtained by POLITICO, which also outlines how “ego-driven” wealthy donors can be tapped with offers of access and “tchochkes.”

The presentation was delivered by RNC Finance Director Rob Bickhart to top donors and fundraisers at a party retreat in Boca Grande, Florida on February 18, a source at the gathering said.

In neat PowerPoint pages, it lifts the curtain on the often-cynical terms of political marketing, displaying an air of disdain for the party’s donors that is usually confined to the barroom conversations of political operatives.

The presentation explains the Republican fundraising in simple terms.

Once again the RNC and those who buy into this form of propaganda are NOT working in the best interests of the country….yes, Bush was a caricature many times….that does not make it right and I do not seem to recall those same caricatures used as a fund raising tool……this is just wrong on so many levels…and of course, no one contacted in the RNC knew anything about this smear campaign…..

It is a childish attempt to scare the living Hell outta the base……but maybe that type of immaturity plays well with conservatives…..after all they do HATE intellectuals or anyone with half a brain….

Budget Deficit: Hard Choices

Inkwell Institute

Budget Deficit Series #2

Daily Agitation

Enough is enough!

To begin with, let us establish one thing…..REALITY BITES!

We all have been bored to death the the endless he said, they say on the deficit…..accusations fly like mosquitoes in summer…..but so far absolutely NO one has a good idea for lessening the impact of the budget deficit…I mean anyone can find fault with an other’s opinion or statement….but it takes a large statesman to stand up and offer “real” solutions to the rise in the deficit…after all we pay the SOBs in Washington to solve problems not hide from them…..since they will not do it…I WILL!

Instead of chopping the crap out of social services and entitlements….why not grow some cajones and do what is needed……it is safe to do nothing or as little as possible….but none of that actually helps the country or the deficit in any way

Everyone in Washington (the demented little toads that they are) is scared to death to make a hard choice proposal….how ill it look back home to my voters?  Meanwhile the rest of the country starves to death….good choice dipstick……Nothing more despicable than a liar and a coward….and Washington is full of them….I am not afraid to ridicule and I definitely not worried about votes….so I guess I have nothing to lose…..Unfortunately, the American people are just as guilty as the douche bags in Washington….they want solutions to the deficit but only if it does not effect them directly……does not matter which side of the aisle we talk about they are all the same….. the wealthy want to whack the entitlements for the poor….the poor want to stick it to the rich….and then NOTHING substantial happens to lessen the deficit and any solutions always has a 5 or 10 year life span…. I ask, “you want to kill the deficit?”  Then follow me…..

To me the choices are simple……and yes someone is going to be pissed off at these proposals….but the best I can say is, “Get over yourself”……

The first place I would start is by ending all wars that are sucking our country dry….this is a difficult one because with all those returning troops the unemployment will go through the ceiling…..but I would end it all NOW!

Second, I would eliminate the ceiling on FICA…as it is now if you make above a certain amount, then you do not pay your Social Security, Medicare, etc taxes….eliminate that exemption and SS would become more secure and it would eliminate all that worthless chatter and lessen the deficit….

Third, Put into place a value added tax (VAT)…..Huh?

VAT is seen as neutral with respect to the number of passages that there are between the producer and the final consumer whereas sales tax is levied on total value at each stage (though in the U.S. and many other countries, sales tax is charged only at the point of final sale to the final consumer, and a use tax only to the final user; there are no sales taxes paid at wholesale or production level). The result is a cascade (downstream taxes levied on upstream taxes). A VAT is an indirect tax, in that the tax is collected from someone who does not bear the entire cost of the tax.

Fourth, eliminate the tax deduction stuff……put into place a flat 10% income tax….no deductions….no exemptions…..EVERYONE pays the same percentage….

Finally, I would suggest considering the sacred cow, the cash cow….defense spending…I mean something is wrong when a toilet seat costs $60…..

None of the proposals are rocket science…….

Everyone says they are so concerned with the deficit and the future of the kids…if that is true demand something be done….other than the day care mentality of the arguments our politicians are having now……if you are not willing to make the  HARD CHOICES…then stop whining and let sh*t happen!
