  1. The celebrations and commemorations are everywhere over here.
No chance it will be forgotten in Britain, chuq.
    Best wishes, Pete.

    1. OMG! I am watching the ceremonies and the US pundits are talking like DDay was only an American thing with a little help from France and the UK…..this is how fake histories get started. chuq

  2. One of the most humbling honors that I’ve had, was to jump into Normandy on June 6th 1944, for the 50th Anniversary commemoration.

Just being able to follow in the footsteps of my Paratrooper brethren in that small capacity….was an incredible feeling.

As I’m known to say, have your children or grandchildren meet and talk with WWII Veterans if at all possible….because one day very soon….it won’t be.

    1. What a great honor. Sadly all our wars slip from memory as the elders die…..will be no different today….so sad……my granddaughter got to talk with my father about ww2…she learned a lot and helped her understand. chuq

    1. True that……there was so much more to the invasion than putting bodies on boats….it amazes me as well chuq
