Is This Another Donny Bullsh*t Deal?

The news is out and the media is having a go at the story….it appears that Hamas has come to an agreement in Gaza….

President Trump said Thursday that a deal has been reached for Hamas to disarm and Israel to withdraw its forces from Gaza, but many hurdles, conditions, and long timelines remained to wind down the war in the Palestinian territory. Neither Hamas nor Israel gave immediate indication that they had agreed, the AP reports. The White House announcement comes nine months after a US-brokered ceasefire was signed. Negotiations between Israel and Hamas had largely deadlocked over the implementation of its second phase, including the disarmament of Hamas and the reconstruction of Gaza.

  • “The agreement will be carried out in carefully structured phases,” Trump said in a Truth Social post. “As disarmament is completed, Israeli forces will withdraw, and the International Stabilization Force will work with a new Palestinian police force to take responsibility for Gaza being safe for its residents and its neighbors.”

Trump’s 20-point ceasefire plan calls on the Iran-backed militant group to surrender its weapons and destroy its vast network of tunnels. It also envisions Israeli forces withdrawing from Gaza, the arrival of a new technocratic Palestinian government, deployment of an international security force, and the rebuilding of the battered Palestinian enclave after more than two years of war. But Hamas had insisted on implementing the first phase before moving to discuss its weapons. The group’s founding charter calls for armed resistance against Israel, and it has been reluctant to give up an arsenal, including rockets, anti-tank missiles and explosives, that lies at the heart of its identity.

Hamas announced earlier this month that it had dissolved its government in Gaza and was preparing to transfer power to a technical committee backed by the United Nations as part of the ceasefire deal.

  • US and Board of Peace officials, describing the deal to reporters on condition of anonymity under guidelines set by the White House, gave an extremely optimistic assessment of the agreement that laid out a scenario very similar to the one described by Trump and his top aides when the Board of Peace, an international body established by Trump to oversee the ceasefire in Gaza, was first formed.
  • The Gaza police force, however, does not include the vast majority of Hamas militants and heavy weaponry is not included in that part of the agreement, according to the officials. Instead, the surrender of heavy weapons and the decommissioning of Hamas tunnels and other infrastructure are to come later in a process that could take between 200 and 350 days, a Board of Peace official said.
  • A U.S. official said that Israel, which has been deeply skeptical about Hamas’ willingness to give up its guns or relinquish at least behind-the-scenes control of Gaza, had been consulted at every step of the negotiation. However, the official said Israel was not being asked to do anything more than what it had initially committed to when it agreed to Trump’s 20-point plan, which essentially involves withdrawing its forces from Gaza and committing to ending airstrikes on the territory. Israel’s UN mission said it had no immediate comment.

As usual with any deal the Donny says he has made there is few to no specifics….just manure about how well he is doing.

How long before this ‘deal’ falls through?

And will the boss, Israel, allow the deal to go through?

Is this just another Donny pipe dream that leads nowhere?

  1. the phrase, “President Trump said” ought to be enough to give the lie to this entire fantasy.

  2. Although I welcome any opportunity for peace, this “plan” seems delusional. Netanhahu is facing a tough upcoming election in which his principal challengers are even more aggressively Zionist than he is. Bibi has already captured Gaza and has essentially imprisoned the Palestinian people in a concentration camp. Why would he be motivated to relinquish that control and further damage his chances of staying in office? It just doesn’t make any sense.

Other parts of this story are also questionable. Hamas is all but defunct. Israel controls Gaza. Iran, as a Shiite Muslim state, was never the main supporter of Hamas which was primarily backed by the Sunni Islamist Muslim Brotherhood. The Shiites and Sunnis hate each other, that is why Iran and Saudi Arabia are on opposing sides of the ongoing war on Iran. We must also remember that Israel secretly supported Hamas in the 2007 Palestinian civil war because it was more opposed to Hamas’ rival the P.L.O. which was pushing hard for Palestinian statehood. Netanyahu and the Zionists vehemently oppose a two-state solution.

Whatever Trump is smoking, he should share it with us. It must be pretty good stuff!

    1. I agree completely, Robert. I can’t see Netanyahu and his far right backers ever signing off on something like this because peace is not in his best interest. Everyone seems to have forgotten that he is still facing charges of fraud, bribery and corruption and the only thing that’s kept him out of prison has been his support from the far right during these never ending crises. As soon as the conflicts stop, he’s facing the very real possibility he’s going to end up in prison.

If you’ll forgive the use of the term, this whole thing has turned into a real shitshow. Saudi Arabia is preparing for a massive attack on Houthi targets in Yemen now with the cooperation of Egypt, Turkey, Pakistan and Qatar and perhaps even behind the scenes military assistance. Israeli “settlers” are trying to take over southwestern Syria claiming they have a “biblical right” to the territory.

And don’t forget that the whole Iran situation is our fault to begin with. If we hadn’t illegally propped up the Shah of Iran for more than 25 years,. there quite possibly would never have been the Iranian Islamic revolution in 1979. If the US hadn’t overthrown the democratically elected prime minister in 1953 with the help of the British and installed the Shah as what amounted to an absolute dictator and kept him in power by helping him viciously put down any opposition, we wouldn’t have this mess in the first place.

      1. Yep, the 1953 US-UK backed coup that overthrew Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh’s government. We sure have blood on our hands!

      2. You make a great point that every time the eyes turn to Bibi for prosecution, another war breaks out. Bibi says, “Follow the shiny war ball and forget about my crimes.”

  3. It’s just another Friday. Investors will eat this sh*t sandwich up. Doesn’t it get tiresome for them? Catching up. Hope you have a good weekend.

  4. If Hamas actually gave up all of its weapons, Bibi would happily slaughter everyone left in Gaza. He is only holding back because he is losing troops there, although they don’t publish all their losses. And Trump will change his mind by Sunday anyway, if not sooner.
    Best wishes, Pete.

    1. If figure they will ‘update’ this story by the weekend…I cannot believe that Americans do not realize that they are being played by Israel…all because of some book thing. chuq

      1. YUP! It’s that “book” thing that keeps getting in the way. Not only with Israel, but in numerous ways with people as well.

  5. Considering the fact that the man is known to be a pathological liar and that he is subject to delusions, forgive me if I am skeptical if there is any such “plan” in the first place. One also needs to keep in mind the fact that everything, and I mean *everything* that Trump has done so far has left us far worse off than it was before he “fixed” it, this is going to end badly even if it is true.

    1. GF Truer words were not spoken…..we will be left the short end of the stick when we finally rid ourselves of this idiot. chuq
