Reich is generally pretty sound in his summations and evaluations, but economics depends on so many contributing variables. That being said, Reich has a point in worker stabilization being a big deal on who (can) gets elected. Much of Trump’s initial attraction was pretty much that his presence was the middle finger to everything the disgruntled rural didn’t like about the urban coasts retaining poltical.. and cultural… control. That’s important as well. Yes, it’s all about the economy, stupid… but that also translates to a cultural mismatch.. the idea being “Where has ‘my’ America gone?”.. which tends to identify with the 50’s (Trump) and perceptions that the country is somehow not ‘following’ the traditional Constitution of the Founders. Much of this stems from a complete lack of emphasis in our educational system minimizing the importance of social governance for reading, writing, and math… and the ability to critical think on a basic level. Funny thing about critical thinking.. everyone thinks they use it and believes the next person doesn’t know how.
Reich is pretty accurate…..but everything depends on the voter and the time of the vote….a lot can happen between votes…..chuq
I agree with Robert, totally, but I cannot see the wealthy, giving up their power, especially when 1/3 of the country support Trump and his minions, through hatred, racism, religious, fanaticism, greed, and selfishness.
I agree with you on this….the Donny propaganda machine has done an excellent job in dumbing down the voting public. chuq

I usually agree with Reich, and I agree with him on this too.
FYI: When I clicked the link for the news article early this morning, a ransomware pop-up locked my laptop while displaying a fake Microsoft alert about my bank accounts being hacked into. It was just a scam, but my bank had to take precautionary measures which required me to have a professional scrub my laptop clean. Everything is ok now, but it rattled me pretty good for most of the day.
I’m going to avoid Alternet links for now on.
