The big news from last week is the alleged drug use of Elmo…..
As Elon Musk formally steps away from his duties in the Trump administration, the New York Times is out with a report sure to rile the world’s richest person. The investigation by Kirsten Grind and Megan Twohey asserts that Musk was using drugs far more than previously known when he became a fixture at campaign rallies for Donald Trump.
- “Musk’s drug consumption went well beyond occasional use. He told people he was taking so much ketamine, a powerful anesthetic, that it was affecting his bladder, a known effect of chronic use. He took Ecstasy and psychedelic mushrooms. And he traveled with a daily medication box that held about 20 pills, including ones with the markings of the stimulant Adderall, according to a photo of the box and people who have seen it.”
- The report says it’s not clear whether Musk continued his drug use at those levels after Trump’s election when he created the Department of Government Efficiency, but the reporters cite evidence of “erratic behavior,” including insults issued to Cabinet members, garbled public answers, and his delivery of something akin to a Nazi salute. The report, based on anonymous sources described as “people familiar with his activities,” also says Musk’s “increasingly tumultuous” personal life—particularly his push to have ever more children with ever more women—contributed to the frenzied atmosphere around him. No response yet from Musk or Trump to the allegations.
Nothing is proven yet and this will be written as a hatchet job by the GOP and their Clueless Leader.

Dawn broke with the House of Representatives passing the Trump budget bill, which takes from the poor to give to the rich more bluntly and blatantly than any bill in American history. The day ended with Donald Trump hosting the most corrupt dinner a president of the United States has ever held, solely for the purpose of enriching himself, and putting himself in hock to … well, his real employers—the citizens and voters of the United States—have no idea who they are, precisely.

Wall Street is beginning to understand the president’s roller-coaster foreign trade decisions with the help of a trendy acronym: TACO—or “Trump Always Chickens Out.”
The TACO theory was coined earlier this month by Financial Times columnist Robert Armstrong, adding a catchy name to the practice of loading up on stocks when Donald Trump first announces the tariffs and then selling when he ultimately backtracks on enforcing them.
In a Wednesday note obtained by Market Watch, Sevens Report Research founder Tom Essaye insisted that Trump does, in fact, always chicken out. So far, that’s been true for enacting additional tariffs on Mexico and Canada, postponing his “reciprocal” tariff plan on dozens of countries after his “Liberation Day” announcement went south, delaying a tariff on imports from the European Union, and smashing his plan to fine China, temporarily decreasing tariffs on Chinese products to 30 percent from 145 percent.
“So, the returns are somewhat conclusive: The TACO trade has worked and buying stocks on extreme tariff-related threats has worked,” Essaye wrote, noting that the known gambit’s growing popularity will translate to diminished returns

Next….the US Court of International Trade deemed Donny’s tariffs null and then he slinked off and found a butt licking judge….
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on Thursday put a stay on a lower-court ruling from a day earlier, which put a block on a large portion of President Donald Trump’s tariff regime.
The latest intervention from the federal courts, according toAxios, “will deepen the chaos around the Court of International Trade’s Wednesday order, which threatens to upend global commerce.”
The appellate ruling only makes it more likely that the cases involving Trump’s tariff order will find their way to the U.S. Supreme Court. The nation’s highest court could take the case as early as Friday.

Native Americans have been crapped on by the government for more than a century and now Donny’s boy at HHS continues that policy….
After a federal program delivering fresh, local food to Native American reservations was abruptly cut, tribal leaders are scrambling to fill the void, fearing a return to food insecurity and loss of cultural traditions. The USDA has ended its Local Food Purchase Assistance Cooperative Agreement program, following a decision in March by the Trump administration, ProPublica reports. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins said the half-billion-dollar program was a remnant of the COVID era. The program, launched under the Biden administration in 2021, focused on improving access to locally sourced food, especially in Native American communities. Hundreds of food banks benefited, with 90 serving tribal communities.
A dozen advocacy nonprofits and tribal leaders have called for USDA to bring back what they say is a “critical” program. They say it allows tribes to choose foods that fit community needs and honors tribal sovereignty. The program was cut despite Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s pledge to make healthy eating programs a priority. When he met with tribal leaders in Arizona last month, the health secretary said processed foods have “mass poisoned” communities. He later told the House Appropriations Committee that processed foods have caused a “genocide” among Native Americans, reports ProPublica. “One of my big priorities will be getting good food—high-quality food, traditional foods—onto the reservation because processed foods for American Indians is poison,” he said

Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL) wants the Washington, D.C. subway system to be renamed to honor President Donald Trump.
The lawmaker introduced legislation on Thursday called the Make Autorail Great Again Act, which would withhold federal funding meant for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority until it is renamed the Washington Metropolitan Authority for Greater Access, a play on Trump’s Make America Great Again slogan. The Metrorail would be renamed the Trump Train.
“All Aboard the TRUMP TRAIN!” Steuebe said in a statement. “WMATA takes $150M a year in federal funds and delivers nothing but delays, dysfunction, and decay. My bill blocks funding until WMATA is renamed WMAGA and the Metrorail becomes the TRUMP TRAIN.”

Then there is that Broad Ernst and her pronouncement….
During a town hall on Friday, Ernst committed a bit of a gaffe when a constituent voiced the concern that the GOP’s plan to kick millions of Americans off Medicaid and to slash their food benefits would kill some of them.
Obviously, it’s understandable that people are worried about losing their health insurance and access to the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). While the “savings” being realized that way may just be numbers to Republican lawmakers, being on Medicaid truly can be the difference between life and death for many Americans.
Therefore, Ernst’s callous reply was a bit shocking.
