A Solution!

I have been wondering why some sites I visit I cannot ‘like’ them or why I need to log in every time I try to comment.

Nan a friend of Beetleypete has found at least one answer and I would like to pass it on.

Another thing…..I have not seen any Spam on IST for about 3 weeks and that is unusual….has anyone else had less Spam lately?

  1. There has been zero Spam notified for weeks now. I think that WP has just stopped telling us. I have had 7 comments in Trash in the last 3 weeks, and ALL of those were genuine comments from followers. So be careful to check the Trash folder, chuq.
    Best wishes, Pete.

    1. That’s been happening to me too but with emails coming from WordPress blogs. When WP notifies me a reader has left a new comment my email software on my Macbook dumps it straight into the junk folder for some reason.

  2. I don’t know what’s going on with WP but I’m getting very frustrated. In the last week or two when I’m trying to write using the WP editor it starts to get slower and slower to respond and finally I have to leave the editor, then come back and it will work well for a while, then slow down again. Very irritating.

I’ve run into the log in issue once or twice but that seems to have gone away now.

      1. WP is always fiddling around with the back end to make things “better”, usually without telling us what the heck they’re doing and then they out of the blue announce a new “feature” that completely screws up the way we’ve been doing things for years. Sigh…

Years ago when I first started this I used an off-line blog editor that worked with several different platforms and I used that because I was using Tumblr and WP both back then. But then I dropped out of Tumblr after Yahoo did what it does best, driving companies into bankruptcy. And being tied to a specific computer was a pain. I could only write on the Mac. Writing using the on-line editor was more convenient because I could use whatever computer I happened to be using at the time. But maybe it’s time to start looking an an external editor again.

      2. I know but it seems the more complex the theme the more problems….I have been using Independent Publisher for 12 years and have very few problems. chuq
