With the latest spat of mass shootings the usual suspects are being blamed as excuses are sought.
In the past there has been a plethora of excuses…..guns did it…..its the ‘illegals’….its sickos…..and my favorite….it’s the Dems……but one Congress person has a unique and totally moronic excuse…..it is women’s fault.
Yep you read that properly…..it is women’s fault…..with abortion thrown in for good measure…..
There’s a new contender for most absurd GOP scapegoat for gun violence.
Rep. Billy Long (R-Mo.) was asked during an interview with Missouri radio station The Eagle 93.9 on Wednesday whether there was any appetite among Republicans in Congress to pursue changes to gun laws. It came in the wake of a gunman’s massacre of 19 children and two teachers in Uvalde, Texas.
Long, who is running for the U.S. Senate, said guns aren’t the issue. He criticized proponents of gun control for “trying to blame an inanimate object for all of these tragedies.”
…
“So something has happened to our society. I go back to abortion, when we decided it was OK to murder kids in their mothers’ wombs. Life has no value to a lot of these folks.”
The data doesn’t support that claim. The Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade ruling in 1973 established abortion rights in the U.S.

The of the extinction of dinosaurs has been greatly exaggerated….they are still with us only now they have joined the GOP.
It seems that some moron that calls himself “Very Stable Genius” has another theory….hammers kill more people than guns….
A Very Stable Genius brimming with smug confidence told Jason Selvig of the Good Liars that hammers kill more people than guns and challenged Selvig to look it up on Google. Selvig looked it up on Google and told the Very Stable Genius he was wrong.
The Very Stable Genius refused to acknowledge that he was wrong, which is a hallmark of the Dunning-Kruger Effect, a cognitive bias in which people with low expertise mistakenly think they are more knowledgable than they are. This often leads to overconfidence and poor decision-making.
From the video:
Very Stable Genius: More people and more crime is committed and more people are killed with hammers every year than guns. Look at the facts.
Jason Selvig: I will look that up. I don’t think that’s true. Actually.
Very Stable Genius: It’s true
Jason Selvig: in the United States though?
Very Stable Genius: Sir, that is true. Look it up. You can Google it. It’s true. It’s actually true.
Jason Selvig: So the number of murder victims and the weapons used. Okay, number one, s 8,029. Number two, firearms type not stated 4,863. Number three knives or cutting instruments, personal weapons, fists, feet, then rifles at 455, then blunt objects, clubs hammers. 393. The hammers — that stat is just wrong.
Very Stable Genius: Back to your question. The Second Amendment is still my right and it’s still important to me.

These people concoct the damnedest pile of manure to explain something…..
Here is one from the mouthpiece of stupid….
Laura Ingraham doesn’t think it’s lax gun laws that are contributing to the regular mass shootings happening in this country, but rather, expanded legalization of marijuana. On Tuesday night, the Fox News host suggested that weed is actually a driving factor behind the mental state of mass shooters.
During “The Ingraham Angle” on Tuesday, the host brought on Dr. Russell Kaymer, who is the medical director of partners and safety, to question why people aren’t “talking more about the pot psychosis-violent behavior connection.”
“This is something that the medical community is well aware of. Yet, you get the sense that the billions of dollars on the line are more important than our kids,” Ingraham said seriously. “And what’s happening especially to young men in the United States, who are frequent users of this high-potency THC that’s now in marijuana products sold legally in dispensaries across the United States. I mean, this at the very least needs a serious national conversation.”
Laura Ingraham Tries to Blame Texas School Shooting on ‘Pot Psychosis’ (Video)
Let me ask…of all the pot smokers you know how many ever want to commit an act of violence?
Point!
Finally there is the GOP feeling that we need to accept these deaths….
Nearly half of Republican voters think the US just has to live with mass shootings, according to a poll released in the aftermath of the Texas elementary school murders and as politicians in Washington negotiate for gun reform.
The CBS and YouGov poll returned familiar results, including 62% support for a nationwide ban on semi-automatic rifles, the kind of gun used in Uvalde, Texas.
Nineteen young children and two adults were killed at Robb elementary school on 24 May by an 18-year-old who bought his weapon legally.
But clear national support for a ban on such rifles or changes to purchasing ages and background checks is not mirrored in Congress. Most Republicans, supported financially by the powerful gun lobby, remain opposed to gun reform.

Where do they find this many morons?
Once again…..”Can’t Fix Stupid”
I Read, I Write, You Know
“lego ergo scribo”
I have seen that ‘Hammer’ video on Twitter. The man is a complete cretin who gives a bad name to other cretins.
As for politicians blaming mass shootings on abortion, I have to wonder that if that is the educational level of your politicians, then it is high time you moved to Canada. All hope for America has gone. It left with Trump’s presidency, and it is not coming back in my lifetime.
I worry for you all, I really do. And I thought things were bad in this country. Compared to the USA, I live in an intelligent Utopia, chuq.
Best wishes, Pete.
Pete…I fear for my country as well…..if I was younger I would head to the South of France. chuq
I can tell you where “This many morons” came from if you really want to know. “This Many Morons” came about as a result of so many Americans ignoring the existence of Rowe vs Wade.
“Can’t fix stupid” is proven correct every day. chuq
Women don’t like to kill quickly…they like to drag it out.
I use to think marriage was a slow death….chuq
Word salad makes my head hurt.
Very few Americans die from mass shootings. We are far more likely to be shot in a crime ridden city run by Democrats.
You apparently want to ban guns because guns kill people, but the same politicians you want to institute this unconstitutional ban are sending 10’s of billions of dollars worth of weapons to Ukraine so the people there can defend their homes. No irony there.
Before you disarm people, don’t you think you ought to consider why we have the right to own weapons to protect ourselves from lawless people, including lawless governments.
All that is an excuse to allow mass shootings. I do not want to ban guns…let’s be clear…..but I also do not want to see more children dead so we have to hear the lame justifications for owning assault weapons. chuq
So your “solution” is to use mass shootings as an excuse to castigate and ridicule Republicans?
Yeah! You won’t ban guns. Armed Democrat Party thugs masquerading as law enforcement officials will still have them.
If that’s the case, Aren’t the Republicans doing the same? Ridiculing the Democrats?
As a Dutch citizen I follow US-politics since the eighties
Living in a small country, our education is among others founded in the believe that looking across our borders is important.
So, so called Republicans proving their ignorance in twisted comments about gunviolence in the US.
How stupid can it get?
My well founded opinion.
Children, the most vonerable,in any society, are innocent victims here.
Are guns more important than the lives of others
Do you really think that the Second Amendment, about 250 years, has lost it’s necessaty?
Isn’t it time to be adapted maybe?
Yes guns are more important…..the only time children mean anything to the GOP is when they are in the womb. Be well chuq
Thanks for your comment, as always with a grain of Southern charme
The comment I made wasn’t even intended for you.
It was for that “nice gentleman” who has different ideas concerning guns etc.
I know but just wanted to put in my couple of cents. chuq
