Why A Professor Watchlist?

In recent news I have seen a disturbing trend starting…and as usual the MSM sees little entertainment value in covering such news…..

It appears that some of the more autocratic conservatives have started a “professor watchlist”….they are afraid of anyone teaching some liberal views to students.

I think this is a dangerous trend in learning….my students are given both sides of a subject, when acceptable, and they make up their own minds….these rabid d/bags want to teach their brand of history, et al…..

Kinda reminds me of a couple of situations in history….1920’s Italy and 1930’s Germany…to me…it is not a rounded education if only one side or idea is taught.

This is an op-ed by a professor about this invasion of “free thought”…..

From a “critique” of my work on the recently launched website Professor Watchlist, I learned that I’m a threat to my students for contending that we won’t end men’s violence against women “if we do not address the toxic notions about masculinity in patriarchy … rooted in control, conquest, aggression.”

This effort is just plain WRONG!  If you believe in a complete education then you should fight this type of slander tooth and nail….or just sit back and see what this will bring….that was done before and ended badly.

  1. Professor Watchlist is stupid, just plain stupid. We’re intelligent people that can observe and process the information around us to form our own views and opinions; which are dynamic by the way. If I were still the rebel I was in my 20’s, I’d be seeking out the Professors on the watchlist on purpose to get the education I deserved instead of the washed out crap that being taught in schools today. Example: my daughter knows a significant amount of detail about the 9/11 attacks. Her book, in 4th grade, had a 5 sentence paragraph.

  2. That’s just more of the signs “at home” that your country is de facto a fascist dictatorship. It always was for those on the receiving end of America’s foreign policy (We come, we see, you die) but until now, except for the McCarthy era, de-segregation and the anti-Vietnam war protests, it wasn’t as obvious to the home crowd. But your “perfessers” of all people should’ve been fully aware of the condition long before this. Actually, like MSM, they were but it was just easier and more profitable to go along with it and now it’s too late to reverse the trend. This is entrenchment, equivalent to 1938 Germany. Along with the latest “right to hack” by government “security” agencies, the writing is flashing on the wall.
This whole conclusion reminds me of another classic conclusion in “The Walrus and the Carpenter” by Lewis Carroll:
“I weep for you,” the [Liberal] Walrus said:
    “I deeply sympathize.”
With sobs and tears he sorted out
    Those of the largest size,
    Holding his pocket-handkerchief
    Before his streaming eyes.

“0 Oysters,” said the [Donald Trump] Carpenter,
    “You’ve had a pleasant run!
Shall we be trotting home again?”
    But answer came there none–
And this was scarcely odd, because
    They’d eaten every one.

  3. Education has been broken for many centuries, in fact, for the simple reason that the curious nature that all human children exhibit is blunted, stunted, and prevented from ever really developing the way it must be to reach the ability to reason, without any limitations on what may be the subject of reason. From birth to school age, children are indoctrinated to obey, not to reason, or to learn. They’re taught to accept whatever they’re told by those in authority over them, and discouraged from using the imagination and ability to determine false from true. This means, by the time they get into school outside the home, they’re already enslaved to authority, whether parental, secular, or societal.

Education begins in the womb; our species begins to learn about the outside world once born. That is when our earthly education begins, and must be reformed at that stage. But, that will only happen when the currently held delusions fostered by the lack of understanding of our own nature, as fostered by religion and government have been eliminated, which may not happen before we’re extinct.

The same quote used on the last post fits here, as well:

“Humans hardly ever learn from the experience of others. They learn – when they do, which isn’t often – on their own, the hard way.”~~ Robert Heinlein, Time Enough for Love
