I wrote about the pathetic stuff the Right does and says…..and there comes a time when I see a more pathetic GOP than normal……and recently they hit a new low……
I watched an anti-Hilary ad that has been released……(I will not dignify it by posting it)….in essence they are telling people why Hilary is not a good choice for president…….basically….she is too old! Personally, I think it is a lame attempt and will not work…..the GOP is trying to bill themselves as the party for youth…..they have pissed all over women, Hispanics and blacks…..the youth vote is all that is left….
(Newser) – The GOP’s new plan of attack against Hillary Clinton, assuming she runs for president in 2016: Go after her age. A New York Times article revealed the strategy yesterday, with Karl Rove explaining the basic idea: “We’re at the end of [Clinton’s] generation and … it’s time for another to step forward.” But over at the Daily Beast, Michael Tomasky scoffs at the idea. While the strategy is not without its valid points (Clinton would turn 70 nine months into her hypothetical presidency), the bottom line is that young voters are never going to be sold on the idea that the Republican Party is the “with it” party—no matter how young the Republican candidate is.
Clinton will, after all, be the candidate who supports gay marriage, a path to citizenship, lower student loan rates, and more issues young people care about—”and she’ll be the candidate of the party that is not the comfortable home to America’s bigots and racists,” Tomasky writes. Yes, there will be age-related questions for her to answer, especially after her concussion last year. But ultimately, all Clinton needs to do is “be who she is”—that is, “our country’s most admired woman in 17 of the last 20 years.” Republican attacks on her age will backfire, and if the GOP really wants to become “the forward-looking party of young people,” it will need to consider some wildly unlikely policy changes. But why would they attempt to influence an election so far out? FLASH! The GOP is having a helluva time finding candidates….no one wants to be on the losing side…..but there is a bit more….
Conservatives are disillusioned by candidates they once supported who seem to abandon their campaign promises once elected. They’re discouraged by the process, wary of engaging with a party establishment that seems intent on minimizing their impact on races.
And, like the rest of the GOP, they’re disappointed with the outcome of the 2012 elections, when a candidate they considered “Republican lite” — Mitt Romney — botched a winnable presidential race and Republicans actually lost seats in the Senate and House.
Hilary is experienced politician with a record of successes and the GOP cannot say the same thing about most of their candidates….the best they can say is that they have pissed up the country just to keep a prez from accomplishing anything at all….the problem is that they are harming themselves….they may NEVER see another federal win….at least in what is left of my life……
