More From The “New South”

I keep hearing a lot of pundits say that the South has come a long way from the days of segregation…..that the “New South” has become a more equal society and that most of the hate from the past is just….not there any longer.  I live in the South.  The “New South”.  I can tell you that not much has changed in the last fifty years with the exception that the hate that was voiced so loudly is now uttered in backrooms…..I am sure if you follow the news that you have seen the stories of high school graduations that were changed as to not allow blacks to have a prominent place or that the kids square by race and fight or…just go to the internet or Google and you can find all the symptoms of a racist society…..but after all that said….this story is just sickening…….http://bit.ly/o7zWWk

I ask my readers does that sound like there is a “New South”?

  1. A very disturbing story with huge issue around it. I don’t know if I would use this incident to condemn the South because I’m afraid it could happen anywhere. If those kids had been in England they would have been participating in the riots.

The problem is that they were raised by a politically correct school system but never taught respect for other people or the concept of right and wrong.

    1. Hi Thomas….like I said…I live here and this is norm thinking….the actions were extreme but it did not surprise me……I live on the Coast and I have always said that as you drive North there should be a highway sign that says….”set your watch back 150 years”

    1. Spinny…..this is fairly common….the beatings thing not the killing thing…..this state is fully of racist pricks……
