A Prius Of A Story

Daily Agitator

By now absolutely everyone knows the story of the old guy driving to the highway and his Prius (Toyota) accelerates and refuses to stop and the highway patrol dude that used his patrol car to bring the runaway Tonka toy to a stop……and the story has only begun….

This from Market Watch:

Technicians with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Toyota Motor Corp. could not duplicate the unintended acceleration reported by a Prius driver in California last week, according to a published report.

A Toyota official who attended the inspection was cited as saying the drive power of the Prius would have shut down during a circumstance when both the gas pedal and the brake were fully engaged.

“It does not appear to be feasibly possible, both electronically and mechanically that his gas pedal was stuck to the floor and he was slamming on the brake at the same time,” according to the congressional report for the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform….

That is not all of the story….I heard a report that the man involved in the incident was in debt, still owed $20,000 on the Prius…..now this seemed like an attempt to make the man involved into some sort of scam artist….that he is somehow a shaddy character because he is in debt…..but really?  Name me 10 Americans that are not in debt or owe money on their car……

The man may well be a scammer…..but more FACTS need to be offered before I called him thus….besides I own guns, does that make me a terrorist?

  1. But this is how it works for chrissake! Don’t you know anything, man?

Look: if you have global warming and increased CO2 one MUST be causing the other; if you have a Moslem and he’s got a pot of cream that could make a bomb if mixed with six other ingredients that he MIGHT have had, he’s a terrorist; if you have banks claiming that the people should give them all their money, then it must be done; if students from crap families disrupt classrooms and threaten and rape and prevent other students from learning, it’s the teachers’ fault; if you have a problem that your legislation has failed to solve, produce some more and employ another thirty thousand bureaucrats to impliment it….

Come on, wise up man – that’s the way things are! I would have thought you’d have figured this all out by now… if someone is paying the bill, then it is a requirement that the scientific study you do should look for facts to put together that prove the point the bill payer wants to make.

Did no one in school all those years ago explain to you that one and one makes eleven?

    😆

    1. Unfortunately I DO understand the crap….I was hoping to point out to those with an IQ of soap would STOP making such outlandish crap out of nothing….the media is the problem….they are the ones that made it sound like this guy was a scam artist…..but the facts they are using against this guy is that he is in debt and owes money on the car……a stretch….

This guy may well be a scam artist but not from the info they have now…..in my defense…one cup of coffee does not wake me up….LOL

      1. Exactly! I was of course just being sarcastic and and extremely facetious 😆

However, are you sure it is the media, or was this perhaps suggested to them by an “interested party”?

      2. Probably an “interested” party and they run with it before they check the facts……tabloid journalism at its worse…..

    1. HA Ha Ha…good one…..I needed that bit of humor…..to answer your question, remember eventually you will have to stop and it would be nice if it was your idea to do so……so pass on the Prius, at least until the rest of the story is told….
