Is Jeb Spinning His Wheels?

I know it is too early for all this analysis….so much can happen before the 2016 begins……but what the Hell…..gotta do something to entertain myself…..

The field for the GOP in 2016 is getting smaller….Perry gone, Walker gone, others to follow suit…..Jindal, Pataki, Graham, Gilmore (who?)…….but what about Jeb?

Once upon a time I though Jeb was the clever brother of the family and would be a better candidate and president than GW……must have been drugs that gave me those thoughts…..so far Jeb has shown nothing to lead anyone to believe that he is the smarter brother let alone would make a good president…..

What am I saying?  Am I implying the Jeb should drop out of the nomination race?

Well…..yeah!

And I am not alone……

Now that Scott Walker has called it quits in the 2016 race, it’s time Jeb Bush follows suit, writes Matthew Yglesias at Vox. Wait, isn’t Bush a frontrunner with money coming out his ears? Yes, which is why you’d be more likely to see a unicorn than a Bush-free race this week. But that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be a smart move. “If he cares about his family legacy, the good of the Republican Party, and the ideological principles he espouses, he should drop out as soon as possible and endorse Marco Rubio,” writes Yglesias. Here’s his reasoning: While GOP insiders seem confident the fervor over Donald Trump and Ben Carson will die down, one of them could nab the nomination; Jimmy Carter did while lacking insider support. Rather than bury Rubio early, Bush should let the better man take his spot. After all, Yglesias writes, Rubio and Bush are essentially the same candidate, only Rubio “is better at politics.”

Despite nearly identical stances on abortion, immigration, foreign policy, and deficit-increasing tax cuts, Rubio performs better than Bush in head-to-head polling against Hillary Clinton. He’s also “a dynamic public speaker and gutsy political risk-taker … who impresses staffers on both sides of the aisle.” Bush’s campaign, meanwhile, has been “unimpressive” from the start. He’s “struggled mightily with incredibly banal questions about dynastic politics and his brother’s invasion of Iraq, while his arguments in favor of immigration reform have been so weak that the entire nominating contest has been dominated by Trump’s racist demagoguery,” Yglesias writes. Face the music, Bush: You could go out now as “a good man driven by a strong sense of duty,” or you could wait while your campaign continues to unravel and “be humiliated,” Yglesias concludes. What say you?  Yea or nay on Jeb getting out of the way?

Tell Me Again Who Is The “Smarter” Brother

I recall back in the 2000 election and the rise of GW Bush, a candidate I did not like, when the media was telling the country that Jeb was the smarter brother and could not understand why he was not on the ticket…..to be honest I bought into the crap as well……I thought that GW was an easily manipulated idiot and his brother would have been a better choice for the GOP……

Fast forward to the 2016 election and Jeb is running……and after about 6 months of his pre-campaign and after has done very little to show that he is tuly the smarter of the brothers…..

Believe it or not….I may have been….mistaken!

Ever since he has become a serious candidate he has put one foot after another into his mouth and has spent more time trying to “clarify” is words than campaign….not the act of a smart brother.

It has been one faux pas after another……it mostly began with him screwing up e-mails that he released from his time as governor of Florida….it seems his campaign released those e-mails with personal and private information on them…..a bit embarrassing……

And the faux pas kept coming……his latest is his words on “anchor babies”…..

Jeb Bush really, really wants to catch up to Donald Trump, and he seems to believe the best way to accomplish that is to become Donald Trump. Bush’s desperation begat a spat between the two candidates over who loves the racist phrase “anchor baby” more.

How do you use an offensive phrase like “anchor babies” without offending Latinos? Bush has one idea: Say you were talking about Asians.

So…….Jeb was not talking about Hispanics but rather Asians……this oughta get his butt in even more hot water……and he started tap dancing as fast as he could…..

“What I’m talking about is the specific case of fraud being committed where there’s organized efforts — frankly it’s more related to Asian people — coming into our country, having children in that organized effort, taking advantage of that noble concept, which is birthright citizenship,” Bush said.

A campaign spokesperson later clarified Bush was referring to widely reported federal probes into “birth tourism.”

Nothing more humorous than watching a politician dance frantically trying to find a way out of an embarrassing moment…..

The more Jeb talks the more I believe we may have already elected the smarter brother………

Tell me again who was the “smarter” brother…….

Jeb And His Revisionist Theory Of History

This post kinda goes with the ‘toon I posted earlier today……

The 2016 election is gaining speed…….we have already had one debate and another is waiting for next month……we have our characters that are present in every election…..those that have ideas and those that have a big mouth and nothing else……and to my liking this election will be a foreign policy election…….the emphasis will be on how the US will interact with the rest of the world after the election…..

We have candidates that have some pretty good ideas for the international stage and then there are the others that have NOTHING or in desperate denial of past history……

The GOP has its “main tier” candidate in Jeb Bush……..and Jeb is one that is in denial of the past…….for instance the legacy of his brother, GW……..

George W. Bush left Iraq in pretty good shape, only for President Obama to mess it all up, according to Jeb Bush. The candidate, speaking at a national security forum in Iowa yesterday, continued to defend his brother’s war record, arguing that “taking out Saddam Hussein turned out to be a pretty good deal,” Bloomberg reports. He blamed the rise of ISIS on Obama’s failure to strike a deal for US troops to stay in the country after 2011 and said that under the Bush administration, the “mission was accomplished” regarding Iraq’s security. “That is a fact,” he said. “You can’t rewrite history in that regard.”

Bush said the 2007 troop surge was a courageous move but that chaos occurred when the next administration “declared success” and washed their hands of the effort, reports Politico, which notes that 17 of his 21 foreign policy advisers served under George W. Bush. The candidate, who admitted months ago that he wouldn’t have invaded Iraq knowing what we know now, said mistakes were made after the invasion and that he and his brother now believe disbanding Iraq’s military was an error. He also refused to rule out lifting Obama’s ban on torture, telling the forum he didn’t want to make a “definitive, blanket kind of statement,” the AP reports

Jeb is plugging out all the stops to protect his brother’s legacy……he is joining the likes of Dick Cheney in a revisionist theory of history……

Jeb has overlooked the fact that Saddam had stayed in power AQ would not exist in Iraq…..for he would have hunted down and eliminated anyone who threatened his authority…..and besides the invasion was GW’s idea and that alone is to blame for the vacuum in Iraq and the rise of Iran as a regional power…..

I agree with Jeb….”you cannot rewrite history in that regard”….no matter how hard Jeb tries to do so……

Rcently GOP candidate of the nomination gave a foreign policy speech..,….I guess he felt he had to do so since he flubbed the simple question…..”knowing what we know now would you invade Iraq?”

He tap danced around his answer for a week of clarifications before he settled on an answer……….but now his newest speech is so wrong that it wreaks….

History Lesson?: In his big foreign policy speech on Tuesday, Jeb! Bush basically blamed everything that’s gone wrong in Iraq – the rise of Islamic State group, the empowerment of Iran and the three-way conflict with Syria – on two people. Spoiler alert: One of them isn’t former President George W. Bush, architect of the 2003 invasion. But after blasting President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for their “fatal error” of withdrawing from Iraq too soon, critics jumped all over Jeb! for basically walking past the fact that his brother created the mess by invading the country in the first place. And then there’s this: As Fred Kaplan points out at Slate, it was Bush’s brother’s administration, not Obama’s, that signed the status of forces agreement, on Nov. 17, 2008, Article 24 of which states that “All the United States Forces shall withdraw from all Iraqi territory no later than December 31, 2011.”

As usual these toads are lying on so many levels……it is utterly surprising just how many Americans believe the lies…….foreign policy is everything in this upcoming election…..we cannot afford to get it wrong!

How Jeb Bush blundered into making the Iraq war his problem

Do not know if anyone is noticing but the Iraq War of GW is back in the news…..and it all started by asking Jeb one simple question…..and now they are asking all candidates the same question…….and NO seem capable of answering it as simply as it is asked…..it is fascinating watch the candidates scramble for an answer…..an answer beyond the “official” GOP talking points, that is……….

Here is Jeb’s mounting problem……..

How Jeb Bush blundered into making the Iraq war his problem.

Jeb: “The World Is A Safer Place”

Anyone that is a news junky knows that Jeb has had a week that he would like to forget…….when asked one simple question he has given 4, maybe 5 by now, answers and had to walk each one back to explain what he meant….(and he is the smarter of the two brothers)…….

In case you were otherwise occupied…….the simple question asked Monday of this week by FOX News was…..”Knowing what we know now would you have authorized the invasion of Iraq?”  His answer then was…..”YES anybody even Hillary would have authorized it”………

His team for damage control immediately leaped into action to “clarify” his answer……on Tuesday he said that he had misunderstood the question…..and that did not satisfy the MSM and he was asked again on Wednesday…this time he said it was a hypothetical question without answer…..and the MSM went batcrap crazy…..so on Thursday he was asked the question one more time and this time he got it almost right…..”Of course not”!

After answering the question to most liking he had to add……”the world is a safer place without Saddam”……..

That one statement got my mental juices flowing……I asked myself is the world a safer place?  Of course that lead me to want to know for sure.

In 2003 the US invaded then occupied the country of Iraq so that is where I decided to begin my search……

In 2003 there were minor conflicts in the Philippines, India, Africa (always in Africa) and of course the perpetual conflict between the Palestinians and the Israelis and lastly our war in Afghanistan which was the only major conflict that year……most conflicts were internal struggles…..internal meaning within the borders of countries……..

Now since 2003 the world has gone to Hell in a hand basket …………Middle East, Africa, Southern Europe and Pakistan and terror attacks have increased…….. just to mention a few of the conflicts.

My assertion is that Jeb is dead wrong….the world is NOT a safer place!

Then Jeb was confronted after making what could be humorously called a foreign policy speech in which he said…….Bush had said that the Obama administration’s weak foreign policy was responsible for the rise of the terrorist group, also known as ISIS, in the Middle East.

Of course he took immediately to the GOP talking points that says that since there was NO Status Of Forces agreement and we left Iraq anyway it lead to the rise of ISIS…..in essence…”it is Obama’s fault?”  That tired old supposition.

So basically no one in the GOP wants to admit that the invasion created chaos and that chaotic climate gave birth to ISIS…..ergo GW’s fault.

For what is called a foreign policy election it is off to a shaky start……..so far none of the candidates has any idea what they are talking about on foreign policy….somebody better sit these guys and gal down and give a remedial course in international studies…..or it is going to be a long campaign with lots of clarifications.

Apology To GW

I unwittingly made today my election special……I know a bit early but what the Hell!  What is life without whimsy?

There are many that seem to think the Jeb is the man to beat in the general election in 2016…..I have my doubts…..but first my apology…….

I must be honest here…..back in the early days of the election of 2000 I was tickled by GW Bush……his antics and performance in debates and such lead me to believe he was an idiot….I thought then that he would be the perfect GOP candidate to run against Gore……for Gore would be a shoo in for the presidency…..keep in mind I was not a big fan of Clinton or Gore for that matter…..but the alternative were just to simple minded to win the election.

While researching candidates and other politicos I read up on his brother Jeb at the time was the governor of Florida…..all that I read lead me to believe that he was articulate and rather intelligent……so I was one of those that thought the wrong brother had been chosen to run….the country would be much better off with Jeb over GW……..

Fast forward to the 2016 election…..we have Jeb running for the nomination of the GOP…..and since his announcement he has made some truly bone-head decisions.  For one was the release of the e-mails as his time as governor…..the problem was he released many many of them and a good portion of them had people’s personal information in them which became public knowledge.

Then there was the gay thing passed and signed in Indiana by another GOP d/bag, Mike Pence……Jeb came out in support of the law and then after so much uproar he has to walk back his approval and :clarify” what he had said.

He then came out in support of the letter written by a mental midget Sen. Cotton of Arkansas to the leaders of Iran pretty much crapping on any nuke deal……and as usual Jeb had to walk that back also…..

All of this was just to stay in good graces with the neocon money train…….and then most recently when asked about the foreign policy of the US he has this to say……..“The basic policy should be our friends know we have their back over the long haul, and our enemies need to fear us again,” Bush said at the South Carolina GOP convention in Columbia, according to the Associated Press.

Bush added that he thought President Obama’s strategy abroad has been an “unmitigated disaster” thus far. Hillary Clinton’s would not fare much better, he said, should she get elected president in 2016.
Fear us?  So basically his foreign policy will be “do as we say or else”…..threaten the whole world to kowtow to us or be invaded or pay the consequences for their insubordination……and that is NOT a winning policy stance.
So I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to GW for thinking him stupid..  Apparently the smarter Bush did run and win the presidency.  Jeb is an idiot!  If yoiu thought that GW was easily manipulated then hang on top your cajones.
Now if you are really thinking about voting for Jeb if he is the nominee in 2016…..maybe you should ask a few questions before that…….
If Jeb wins the GOP nomination…….all I can say …….GOD HELP AMERICA!

Will Jeb Be The Man?

I recall back in 2000 when GW was battling that Dem guy that was VP (dammit!  I cannot remember his name)…..when it came to GW I was one of those that was saying that the dumber of the two brothers got the call to the presidency…..I truly thought because of his days as governor of Florida that Jeb was the smarter of the two.

After the panic, outrage and stupidity of the religious crap in Indiana ….I have come to the realization that I may have been…..mistaken…….

But why professor?

First FU was when he released a massive amount of emails sent to him as gov of Florida….the problem is that many of them had tons of personal info on them…..which left the people open to all kinds of intrusions into their life…….

After the Indiana law was signed Jeb was quick to be on the bandwagon as a supporter…….he caught total Hell from the media and in the truest since of a politician he tried to walk it back……..

Unfortunately that was not his only for lack of a better term……misstep…..But now he has gone and stepped in that pile of steaming fecal material again……and this time it is a really good one…….

Jeb Bush seems to have erred in filling out his 2009 voter-registration application in Miami-Dade County—specifically in the “Race/Ethnicity” field, which he checked “Hispanic,” the New York Times reports. The Times notes Bush’s deep ties to the Hispanic community—including his Mexican wife, his fluent Spanish, and a two-year stint living in Venezuela—before pointing out his likely “confusion over heritage.” The mystery remains: Per the Times, “a Bush spokeswoman could offer no explanation for the characterization.”

The long he is allowed to continue the more that it appears to me the GW was possibly the smarter of the two…….and that is just flippin’ scary.  If Jeb cannot manage in these early days I think there is NO hope of him being a capable president.  I mean if he gets confused over this ethnic background how reliable will any of his other decisions be at critical times?

Finally!  His name was Al Gore….I knew it would come to mind if I thought about it!
