Harris’ Concern

With the 2028 election slowly crawling into the political conversation  most polls show VP Harris as the frontrunner (for now)….she recently gave a speech in South Korea condemning Biden for inaction on Gaza….

Former Vice President Kamala Harris said Wednesday that the United States should have acted to curb Israel’s “horrific conduct” in Gaza, offering a pointed acknowledgement of the failures of the Biden administration she served and harsh criticism of the Netnayahu government.
Harris said that the United States had “fallen short” of its “moral obligation to human rights and international law” in its “failure to use our leverage to curtail the Israeli government’s horrific conduct in the war in Gaza, both under the current administration – which offers Netanyahu a blank check – and our administration before, where we should have acted sooner and more forcefully.”
Her speech at the Asan Institute for Policy Studies, which mostly focused on artificial intelligence, comes as Harris weighs a presidential run in 2028, with the Biden administration’s handling of the Gaza war remaining a source of distrust among progressive voters.
President Joe Biden’s unflinching support for Israel in the aftermath of the Oct. 7 Hamas attack and subsequent war in Gaza sapped support among left-wing voters. A poll by the Institute for Middle East Understanding found that “ending Israel’s violence in Gaza” was the top issue for Biden voters in 2020 who didn’t vote for Harris in 2024.
Harris declined to distance herself from Biden’s positions on Israel during the campaign but has stated several times since losing the race that the U.S. should have placed more pressure on Israel to avoid civilian casualties in Gaza.
Sorry but is just plain bullshit!
Where was this voice during the Biden admin and after that her presidential run in 2024?
This is nothing but political positioning since most American have been falling away for their support of Israeli actions in Gaza.
Big talk no action….she will not be so supportive of this position after the election.
Do not be fooled by this fake concern for the Palestinian people.
She may be the presumptive leader now but she can never get any support from me.
Thoughts?

  1. She has no concern for the Palestinian people at all. If she had, she’d have spoken up long before now. She’s cynically now trying to claim she “cares” just to try to position herself for a run at the WH.

Unfortunately at the moment, as bad a choice as she would be, she seems to be just about the only somewhat viable candidate that the Dems have at the moment.

The Dems should have been working at picking one or more viable candidates the moment the votes were counted and Harris lost. Instead all they’ve been doing is wringing their hands, doing nothing but grumbling and complaining about Trump, and doing nothing to try to push forward a viable candidate for the WH. We’re about 2 years away from the next presidential election and at this point they should have at least two or even three potential candidates they’re pushing into the public eye in preparation. And what we got is nothing.

The people of this country are sick and tired of the Democrats running politicians who are little more than “Republican Lite” candidates. They’ve made that clear with the election of Mamdani in New York, with Hong’s unexpected surge in popularity in the democratic primary in Wisconsin, etc. But instead of embracing candidates like that, the DNC as a whole has not only done nothing to support them, it’s deliberately tried to undermine candidates like Hong and the other true progressives.

The entire leadership of the DNC from Ken Martin on down needs to have their asses tossed out on the streets and replaced with people who actually care about what the voters need and want.

    1. Sorry for the rant. I’m especially grouchy today. Just got my Covid and flu shots yesterday and I feel like I’m going through an especially nasty hangover at the moment.

Still… Come on, why the hell does Martin still have a job considering the state the DNC is in right now?

  2. The Democrats seem to always shoot themselves in the foot, which is exactly what they will be doing if Kamala runs for president, and my opinion because she won’t win and we will likely have JD Vance or worse
