The “selfie” issue is not unlike their obsession with teleprompters or that photo with his feet on the desk or his “apology tour” or his bowing to a foreign official or his shaking hands with Raul Castro.
They hate him so much that they’ll latch onto ANYTHING they possibly can to show him in a negative light. It doesn’t matter if it’s minor, something we all do, something his predecessors do, whatever.
Everything just adds to the narrative they have in their minds. Everything is viewed in the worst possible light, making the innocuous seem malevolent and the inconsequential seem substantial. It’s confirmation bias taken to its most extreme, and fueled by Fox and a series of blogs in a self perpetuating echo chamber rage spiral.
They.. just.. hate.. him.. so.. very.. much.. ::blood vessel bursts::
And such hate is disturbing……in weep for this country unless we all come to our senses….
I was rabidly against Bush. I loathed his policies, his administration, his politics, his tactics, all of it. I thought (and still think) he was TERRIBLE for the US and the world.
But I never hated the guy. He was wrong, sure. He was (at times) a moron, sure. Sure, I made fun of his inability to form coherent sentences. But in the end, he was just a guy trying to do his job the best he could. He sucked at it, sure. But I never hated him.
I wanted him gone so we could have someone less terrible. But hate? No. I know a lot of people did hate him though, but other than the fringiest of fringes, no one hated him like mainstream conservatives seem to hate Obama.
I just don’t understand what inspires people to hate Obama this much. It’s tremendous. Did they hate Clinton like this? I’m too young to recall.
Is it a product of the rise of cable news / blogs? Is it because he’s black? What?
I don’t think Obama has done anything so terrible as to warrant this vitriol. If anything he’s been TOO moderate.
I agree that he has been too timid…but then he is more neo-liberal that progressive, at least in action….words are a different thing.
I agree…I did not like Bush, either Bush, but I did not hate……I wrote about their collective con jobs….but I refuse to name call….when I do name call I send the person a copy of the post and offer to publish any rebutt……I call some of them collectively names but that is what I feel about their antics…….
Obama’s policies are basically the same as Bubba Clinton and to me it was never liberal in any way except in the oratory….
