  1. I am reeeeaaaaallly going to enjoy the day – and it will come – when the Republicans suddenly fall in line behind the ACA.

It’s not a perfect law, but it’s a good law, and lays a lot of good groundwork. It is helping a lot of people and this will only increase as time goes on. The Republicans will lie and fight it and fight it and fight it and fight it and fight it… until the balance tips.

And then, like a light switch, they will stop calling it ObamaCare and start calling it the Affordable Care Act, and they will pretend that they were always in favor it it.

And I will laugh maniacally until I suffer a stroke.

    1. Like I have said…..if one does not like ACA then offer an alternative….anything but the health savings account which will benefit only brokers…..and if it is viable I will champion it…..until then……it is a start….

      1. Their “alternative” is simply to be against Obama’s signature accomplishment.

If they can hold the lie for another few years, they may be able to keep it as a controversial wedge issue for the 2014 midterms of the 2016 general. They don’t need to offer an alternative – their goal right now isn’t to lead or fix things – they want to just be seen as the embattled minority bravely standing against the liberal overreach.

“Getting things done” is not in their interests. The People do not know or care about the makeup of congress. But you can bet your a$$ that they know the president is a Democrat. And if things go well, they will credit the President. And if things go badly, they will blame the President. So the Republicans have a vested interest in – I won’t go so far as to say deliberately sabotaging the country – but in making it harder for the Democrats to effectively govern. As long as government looks bad, it’s the guy at the top who gets pegged with it. And right now, the guy at the top happens to be wearing a blue jersey.

And it’s a solid plan, at least for the short term. They’ve bought themselves plenty of rope with which to hang themselves.

      2. I agree. Lies will be their noose…..and I have noticed how many will not acknowledge the few successes there has been…..yes, they are small but it is headed in the right direction….IMHO….chuq

  2. Small? Seems to me there have been some whoppers in there: death panels being a great example.
