But know everybody has heard all about the horrible situation in CT…….and then there are those that just do not know when to shut the Hell up!

Lobotero,
In part, I think Fischer is correct – but doesn’t know it.
I do think the secularization of society – which is pushed by politicians of both parties – and the commercialization of violence and sex demands a nihilistic attitude. Add the sheer avarice that seems to drive so many people, and you begin to see how easily society has lost touch with its humanity, and with God.
Too few people know the difference between right and wrong anymore. We may not gun-down children, but we do behave immorally from time to time. Some of us cheat on taxes, our spouses, steal, lie, whatever. We all do it, and what’s worse is that we don’t seem to feel bad about doing it anymore.
Our society has sunk so low that simple acts of kindness, like giving a homeless man a pair of boots, is on the evening news. It’s sad that acting humanely is so rare that it makes the headlines.
The fault does not rest with God, but with us. This tragedy is our fault as a society. We were given free will, unconditionally.
So in essence, God is forcing worship…..
Lobotero,
No. You missed my point.
Children are taught that life has no meaning; that the highest pursuit is one of material gain rather than alturism. Society has conditioned people to put God on the back-burner, and thus objective morality is but a hindrance.
Terrance, I got your point….this dipstick as well as Graham say things like this just leads me to believe that I should be forced…..now morality….if the parents worry more about who makes more than them or what possessions they must have…then NO amount of god worship is gonna change that…..because people are forced fed religion has no bearing on morality…I am sure there is some academic that will argue with me….but they are wrong.
