100 Days And Counting…..

Since all the media is jerking off at the first 100 days of the Obama administration….I thought I would play the damn silly game too.  First of all, to judge a president, any president on his first 100 days is just dumb and unproductive.  Basically it is used to brow beat the president on one thing or another.  Watch for it!

My grading scale is footsteps….forward–good, backwards–bad and No step– a stand still.

Let us begin at the beginning:

Keeping of primary promises–forward–he is attempting to keep his promises, but unfortunately some are watered down–but still forward.

Handling the economy and recession–forward–but a small step forward–more needs to be done.

Access to the media and the public–forward–

Fair Pay Act–forward

The Stimulus plan–forward–adjustments had to be made–but still forward.

Support for FISA–backward

Proposed budget–no step–too many compromises made on needed programs.

New troops for Afghanistan and a new strategy–No Step–there is NO new strategy

The torture question–forward–would like to see more being done–but a forward step.

Energy Bill–for now it is forward–but if the compromises begins then that will be downgraded.

Foreign policy–so far so good–forward–found more success than failure or missteps….

Health Care issue–backward–Obama is doing a good job trying to get ALL Americans health care….but this sounds more like a mandate than universal.

Entitlements–word has come down that there will be cuts in entitlement programs–backward–a large step backward….

There were other issues that were tackled, but the ones I listed are the most important, IMO.

In general, Pres. Obama is moving the country forward, not as fast as some on the Left would like, but he is keeping with most of his campaign promises.  By my scoring system, Obama has had a very successful first 100 days.

The only failure in those days has been the GOP, the president cannot be held responsible for the impotence of the Republicans.  However, with that said, I will give him a small step forward on his attempts at bi-partisanship.  Not Obama’s fault that the GOP is still pouting about having their pee-pee spanked in the last couple of elections.
