Why Not Go To War?

I recently did a piece where I gave some props to McCain and his ally Graham…..they were showing their grit by standing up to the emperor on some issues…..and then when I was starting to like these guys a bit, after years if bad mouthing them, they just could not let some things go….

It appears the McCain and his crony Graham recently made a “fact finding” mission to the Ukraine and while there had to thump their chest like crazed primates….

The United States has never been particularly supportive of efforts by European nations to negotiate a ceasefire in Eastern Ukraine. Perennial hawks Sen. Lindsey Graham (R – SC) and John McCain (R – AZ) took things a step further, however, visiting Ukrainian troops on the frontlines and openly urging new military offensives against the ethnic Russian rebels.

Addressing the troops alongside Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, Graham declared 2017 to be “the year of offensive” against Russia, insisting Ukraine’s fight was America’s fight, and that he was determined to make the Russian “pay a heavier price.”

Sen. McCain concurred, insisting that the US could not allow Russian President Vladimir Putin to “succeed” in Ukraine, because if he does he’s liable to also “succeed” in other countries around the world.  (Domino Theory again?)

Graham is also said to be pushing a draft resolution aiming to impose a new round of sanctions against Russia for “trying to interfere with our election.” He insisted he would “never be satisfied” until the US punishes the Russian government.

Appears the Pres. Trump and McCain/Graham are not on the same page when it comes to Ukraine…..

White House officials say President Trump had a “very good call” with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko over the weekend, during which hew promised to work to restore peace along Ukraine’s eastern border with Russia, an area which has faced years of civil war.

According to a read-out of the call, Trump promised to work with Ukraine, Russia, and all other parties on the issue, with an eye toward restoring peace along the border. Trump and Poroshenko also discussed the possibility of meeting in the near future.

Is that our only answer to any situation….GO TO WAR?  Or is there a possibility for some sort of diplomacy? (that would be a pipe dream)……

Grandstanding After All

When it began there was push back to Pres. Trump’s nominee for State, Tillerson.  The leaders of the “opposition” were Sens. McCain and Graham….very vocal and defiant toward the appointee….

With all the chest thumping I said that it might be just theatrics like so much else done or said by senators…..

Republican Sens. Lindsey Graham and John McCain will support Rex Tillerson as secretary of state in a move that all but clinches his nomination, reports Politico. Graham confirmed his position on CBS’ Face the Nation and in a joint statement with McCain; Marco Rubio still hasn’t decided, but McCain and Graham make that all but irrelevant. “Though we still have concerns about his past dealings with the Russian government and President Vladimir Putin, we believe that Mr. Tillerson can be an effective advocate for US interests,” they said in a joint statement. McCain says the decision “wasn’t an easy call” but he says Tillerson assuaged worries about Russia in private meetings. McCain says he also believes in giving incoming presidents “the benefit of the doubt” on their picks.

GOP: Another One Bites The Dust

The crowded GOP field just got a bit less crowded….first it was Walker….then Jindal…and now we have seen the last of another GOPer on the 2016 campaign trail….

Say good-bye to one Lindsey Graham, Senator from the great state of South Carolina……

One of the mainstays of the undercard GOP debates is out: Lindsey Graham tells CNN that he’s suspending his campaign for president. “I’ve hit a wall here,” says the conservative South Carolina senator. Graham has been consistently polling near the bottom of the pack and hasn’t qualified for the main debate once. The likely key factor: Monday was the deadline for Graham to remove his name from the primary ballot in South Carolina, notes Politico. Being able to do so allows him to avoid the possibility of an embarrassing home-state loss.

“Here’s what I predict. I think the nominee of our party is going to adopt my plan when it comes time to articulate how to destroy ISIL,” says Graham. “To those in the Republican Party who want to win, check my plan out. Hillary, if you get to be president, I’ll help you where I can. I hope you’re not. But if you are, I’ll be there to help you win a war we can’t afford to lose.” An email to supporters was expected to go out later Monday.

Sad to see him go….that is right I said I am sad to see him go…..you see he was the ONLY candidate on the assembly line that has actual foreign policy experience…..granted he was a hawk and I did not agree with him on much …..but at least he could talk with some air of experience….sadly the rest of the clown parade cannot.

“What They Do Not Know…….”

After 14 years I am sure that most Americans have an opinion on what actually happened on 9/11…….there is a wealth of conspiracies on who was behind it all…….from someone in the government to some world order trying to incite chaos……to the UN……to …..well you have your opinion and I have mine.

Since that faithful day there have been rumblings that Saudi Arabia is somehow behind the attack in one manner or another……many articles have been published on this subject…..but the one publication that has not been allowed for release was a report issued by the government……..28 pages to be exact……

Several people in the Congress have NOT read these pages for what they say will influence policy…..so ignorance is bliss…..if that is the case then the US Congress is the most blissful place on earth……

Please read and join the call for the release of these 28 pages…….the American people have a right to the truth about the attack of 9/11…

One Presidential Candidate Just Promised To Wage War In 4 Different Countries | ThinkProgress

It is a well written point that I disagree with just about everything Lindsey Graham has to say on foreign policy.  I believe if he is elected president we will be in more wars that we can expertly fight.

The military is being forced to eliminate 70,000 troops because of so-called budget cuts…..but Graham is determine to have us fight war after war if he is elected……..now that we have a deal with Iran he should be one of the loudest voices of the group…….

Is this what the voters of America want for this country?  If so then by all means elect this asshat and learn to live with perpetual war.

2016: Another Clown Joins The Circus

We now have 9, count them 9…..clowns in the GOP battle for the nomination and today another one joins the club.

Today one of my fave war hawks has jumped into the ring to duke it out with fellow Repubs, Sen. Lindsey Graham of south Carolina…….

Lindsey Graham has confirmed the all-but-confirmed: He’s joining the field of Republicans seeking the presidential nomination in 2016, reports Politico. “I’m Lindsey Graham, and I am running for president of the United States,” he told a crowd this morning in his South Carolina hometown, where he sought to underscore his humble beginnings, his self-made success, and his national-security experience. “I want to be president to defeat the enemies trying to kill us, not just penalize them or criticize them or contain them, but defeat them,” he said in advance comments via the Hill, which notes his stance sets him up as a “foil” for Rand Paul’s hands-off foreign policy. The AP runs down some things to know about Graham.

Is Graham serious?  Or is the GOP using him as a butt against Paul?

There could be an answer to that question from VOX……..

Graham is just another clown for the car……and his statement about……”“I want to be president to defeat the enemies trying to kill us, not just penalize them or criticize them or contain them, but defeat them,” Graham said from his home town of Central, S.C..

Big talk from a coward that spends all his time hiding out in Congress…..Graham has NO chance of winning….all he is doing is keeping his defense contract benefactors happy.

Lindsey Graham: He Is But Not Yet

We have people tripping over themselves to run for the GOP nomination…..we have the usual suspects like Rubio, Cruz, Paul and a not so usual in Ben Carson…..this time McCain is not running but his significant other is……..Lindsey Graham the Senator from the great state of denial (read South Carolina)……..

It looks like that over the weekend he told reporters he is running but not until the first of June……confused?

Sounds like Sen. Lindsey Graham is pretty much in for Election 2016, but you’ll have to wait until June 1 to find out for sure. The hosts of CBS This Morning noted that the senator, a guest today, has said there’s a “99.9% chance” he’ll run for president, and Graham said he’ll announce June 1 in South Carolina. He was then asked if he’s running because he thinks he’s bringing foreign policy experience to the table, and he responded: “I’m running because of what you see on television. I’m running because I think the world is falling apart. I’ve been more right than wrong on foreign policy. It’s not the fault of others, or their lack of this or that, that makes me want to run; it’s my ability in my own mind to be a good commander in chief and to make Washington work.”

As for that “99.9%” comment, Graham made it to South Carolina House Republicans last week, the State reported. “And I’m going to run about what I’m going to do, not what I’m against,” he told a caucus meeting. The week prior, Graham told BuzzFeed he was “98.6% sure” he would run. And Politico reported earlier this month that Graham was likely to announce a presidential run June 1 from South Carolina, noting that the location “would enable the GOP senator to highlight a compelling personal story not widely known outside his home state.” (His parents, who ran a pool hall where he was raised, died young, and he helped bring up his sister while also attending college and serving in the Air Force.) MSNBC notes that Graham emailed supporters yesterday with this line: “As an announcement draws near, I need to know you stand with me,” as well as an invitation to donate money.

All that is just ducky but it is not the part that got me tickled.

The most important part of that story was his statement…….”I’m running because I think the world is falling apart. I’ve been more right than wrong on foreign policy.”

Okay the truth……I laughed so damn hard I peed a little.

He was wrong on Iraq in 2003…….and again about Libya……wrong on the rebels in Syria…….and those are just the ones that come to mind immediately……and not one of them a small error.

The world that he sees “falling apart”  was made possible by this person’s place in the Senate……and now he wants to run the country.

You may be stupid enough to vote for this yutz……but I am by NO means that stupid!

Sen. Graham: A Babbling Buffoon

It just amazes me at the depth of the ignorance of our elected officials and the ignorance of their words.  It is NO secret that I have a deep contempt for anyone in the US Congress…..I will admit that there are a few that actually want to work and not do endless fund raising but they are few and far between.

The idiots seem to be concentrated on the GOP side of the road and even more so in the movement we call Neocons or war hawks.  Babbling toads like Cotton, Gohmert, King and most idiotically Lindsey Graham of South Carolina…..pretty much the whole list of morons that were co-signers of the Iran letter sent by Arkansas’ Cotton.

This ignorance extends into the realm of foreign policy and world affairs……these people will say whatever gets them the most exposure which makes fund raising that much easier.  I do not care about their begging for cash what I do object to is their obvious lack of knowledge about the rest of the world which they claim to protect as long as America is the cock of the walk.

Out of the mouths of these idiots flows the excrement of ignorance……..if they spent a little time trying to understand situations instead of babbling on and on they might not appear as stupid as they do now……

The most recent idiocy came from the mouth of Sen. Lindsey Graham……..while speaking at the Jewish group AIPAC he showed just how thoroughly ignorant he really is………

“Everything that starts with ‘Al’ in the Middle East is bad news,” said U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, a Republican from South Carolina at an AIPAC dinner in Boston on Monday. “Al-Qaida, Al-Nusra, Al-Qaida in the Arab Peninsula,” said the senator, who may be running for president.

Obviously pandering to the members of AIPAC with the hope that a check is in the mail……The problem – linguistically – with Graham’s comment is that “Al” is the definite article in Arabic (i.e. equivalent to English’s “the”), and usually appears before most Arabic proper nouns, especially place and personal names.

Yes, it is a small thing……but one that irritates the crap out of me……he is a person that has our foreign policy and military in his cash stained hands…..and to me that makes him a dangerous loose cannon.

Lindsey Graham………..Comedian

Before I start I want to say that Lindsey Graham is a douche!  (I feel better!)

We have all heard about that letter that 47 d/bag Congresspeople decided to sign then send to Iran…..and now with all the backlash staffers are saying that it was a “light-hearted” attempt to amuse……may I please see the hands of the pea brains that buy this excuse?

Continuing on the comedy tact….Graham, who has an eye on running for president,  has made a funny….at least according to staffers………

Lindsey Graham is still talking. His latest headline-worthy quote: If he becomes our next president, the very first thing he will do is deploy the military. Against … Congress. “I wouldn’t let Congress leave town until we fix this,” he said yesterday at New Hampshire’s “politics and pies” forum, referring to the budget. “I would literally use the military to keep them in if I had to. We’re not leaving town until we restore these defense cuts. We are not leaving town until we restore the intel cuts.”

As Vox notes, the quote implies Graham would use the military to force Congress to actually pass a bill, not simply to vote on one, since his stated goal is to “restore” the cuts. Sounds like a “coup” if taken literally, writes Amanda Taub. And though Graham did, indeed, use the word “literally,” his office later clarified to Mediaite that the senator “was employing over-the-top humor to win over his audience.”

BTW, some are calling Rep. Cotton a traitor for his letter…….but Graham’s tongue is more traitorous than anything Cotton did.

All these funny guys in Congress should maybe QUIT their day jobs and start on the stand-up circuit.

Sorry this is not something humorous that a possible presidential candidate should be saying in public…….am I wrong?  At every turn Graham shows there is NO way he can be “A Man of the People”.  After that comment would you trust this a/hole to safeguard the Constitution?

How long do I need to keep pointing out that these d/bags in Congress are unworthy of calling themselves Americans, much less a representative of the people?

This also illustrates that NONE of these morons are capable of governing….they are in it for the ego rush…..PERIOD!

The Clucking Of War Hawks

War is a terrible thing and everyone has an opinion……..it is an obscenity that should not be pushed into without considerable thought……….as we start our latest endeavor that involves a region that the Us has invaded on three separate occasions……..some people are telling the Us to go slow and sure and then there are the wart hawks that want us to throw caution to the wind and immediately send in troops on the ground…..yep, those people would be John McCain and Lindsey Graham and they are singing their usual duet for war……

First it was Graham on, where else(?), FOX news……..

“It’s going to take an army to beat an army, and this idea we’ll never have any boots on the ground to defeat them in Syria is fantasy, and all this has come home to roost over the last three years of incompetent decisions,” said Sen. Graham, noted RawStory.com (video below) .

“It’s delusional in the way that they approach this,” added Sen. Graham, who strongly supported the failed invasion of Iraq by President Bush.

Later in the broadcast, Sen. Graham grew irate, “This is a war we’re fighting. This is not a counter-terrorism operation. This is not Somalia, this is not Yemen!”

“This is a turning point in the war on terror, our strategy will fail yet again. This president needs to rise to the occasion before we all get killed back here at home!” warned Sen. Graham. “They will open the gates of hell to spill out on the world. This is not a Sunni versus Sunni problem. This is ISIL versus mankind.”

I would have expected him to use a tried and true war hawk tactic….FEAR!  And it us very successful tactic to use on FOX viewers….these people live on fear it feeds their ego and their blood lust.

Then came McCain…..he has been having a back and forth with Rand Paul….and McCain went on the offensive.

“I’ve vetted a number of them because I know them,” McCain asserted on Fox News Saturday morning. “Hundreds and even thousands of them have been killed and slaughtered with these barrel bombs and tortured to death by Bashar Assad. They can be trusted. There are groups of them to be trusted.”

I think is pointing to the trip he made back when to a Syrian town on the border with Turkey where he met with some “rebels”……..he dashed across the border for a photo-op and then ran back to Turkey.  These are the ‘rebels’ he met……..

The problem with McCain’s ‘rebels’ were that they prove to be kidnappers that were preying on journalists and such….so much for this vetting process.

Then he went on FOX and made these assertions……

“Hundreds and even thousands of them have been killed and slaughtered with these barrel bombs and tortured to death by Bashar Assad. They can be trusted. There are groups of them to be trusted.”

“Obviously, there are some risks, but what’s our other option here? If someone who says they can’t––they don’t want to do it because we can’t trust the Free Syrian Army, then what is your option, sir and ma’am, in how we are going to attack ISIS in an effective fashion?”

“Has Rand Paul ever been to Syria? Has he ever met with ISIS?” McCain fumed, certainly meaning to say the Free Syrian Army instead of ISIS.

He still puts his faith in the ones that he vetted wrong…….he has been wrong on foreign policy for 30 years and I guess I would like to know why he is still considered an ‘expert’……..

CNN was asked that question and their answer is………

“He has appeared for decades on cable news programs, network news programs,” Feist told Wemple. “He’s articulate, he knows what he’s talking about and he has strong positions. He represents the views of millions and he represents them effectively. He’s a veteran and is loved by many veterans and he’s not just a senator; he’s a former Republican presidential nominee and a war hero.”

Twenty years ago I trusted CNN with reporting the news….apparently those days are gone……a war hero does not make one a responsible analyst on foreign policy……and his lack of concern for the American soldier is astonishing…….he is willing to throw American troops at Georgia (country not state), Ukraine, Syria, Iraq (again)………. he and Graham are spineless war hawks that not once think about the troops they are trying to condemn….some one needs to step up and call McCain on his bullsh*t…………for that is exactly what his views are…BULLSHIT!
