Slowly but slowly the US has been sending more and more troops to Iraq and the media ignores this….what is more important than our troops in a war zone?

Since I reported last month that more US Troops were to be deployed in Iraq ahead of the battle for Mosul……more news has been ignored…..
From the moment he announced, when the latest US war in Iraq began, that there would be “no boots on the ground,” President Obama was not being honest with the American public. Yet after years of trying to revise that to mean something short of no US ground troops, the sheer numbers appear to have overwhelmed the discussion.
Officially, the US had somewhere around 4,500 troops in Iraq. The actual numbers are in excess of 6,000, the discrepancy being the result of an attempt to brand certain troops as “temporary,” despite having no end date for their deployment, as a way to add troops above and beyond caps they’ve long since blown through.
Now, with Pentagon officials openly talking about US troops playing a substantial role in the imminent invasion of Mosul, there is no room for pretense, and officials are just adding more and more troops all the time, hyping them as part of this “vital” invasion.

I find it very pathetic that the lives of the troops means NOTHING to most Americans…..only when it is politically expedient.

Blaming what one thinks is terrible or not on what the “media” reports or does not report is getting old for me. People who want to know, find out otherwise you could not “report” on it. If more people wanted to know, it would be news. Most people today, it seems, do not want to know. That’s a shame. A direct approach to reporting what is going on in Iraq, Syria, Israel, xxxxxxx, might get further than using the meme that the “media” is not doing its job. We are all in the production of news today, I think.
And that is why I keep pointing out the important stuff that has consequences that few want to face.
There are so many events/issues in our world which can, and do, stimulate outrage, because of their inhumanity, ignorance, or simple disasters, both natural and societal, each of us tends to focus on those we have some personal stake in pursuing justice for victims, or for humanity at large. When death is a factor in the issue, it assumes even greater importance to each of us, for we all eventually have it to face….
The MSM is mainstream because it appeals to the lowest common denominator, thus reinforcing the downward trend toward involvement and/or understanding, because it’s purpose is not to convey information useful to the viewing public, but to make a profit. There is still profit to be made in the Middle East, since US interests are involved in paying for BOTH sides. (The US funding of ISIL/ISIS terrorists is thoroughly documented). Therefore, conflict will continue, and further inhumanity will be committed in the name of selling death….
